The objective of this study is to suggest the effects of the fit between project managers' competency and leadership style on the performance of IT projects. Also, this study examine that the project duration among the project's characteristics moderates the impact of the managers' competency and leadership style on the performance of IT projects. As the results of analysis, we found that the participative leadership and the supportive leadership of project manager is affected by the human and the conceptual skills, and the directive-achievement leadership is affected by the technical skills positively. The project duration moderates the impact of the fit between the participative leadership and the technical skills. and the fit between the directive-achievement leadership and the technical and the human skills positively.

In this paper, we offer a new strategic portfolio model for national IT R&D project selection in Korea. A risk and return (R-R) portfolio model was developed using an objectively quantified index on the two axes of risk and return, in order to select a strategic project and allocate resources in compliance with a national IT R&D strategy. We strategize using the R-R portfolio model to solve the non-strategy and subjectivity problems of the existing national R&D project selection model. We also use the quantified evaluation index of the IT technology road map (TRM) and the technical level reports (TLR) for the subjectivity of project selection, and try to discover the weights using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). In addition, we intend to maximize the chance for a successful national IT R&D project, by selecting a strategic portfolio project and balancing the allocation of resources effectively and objectively.

These days, many companies use information systems as a basis for organizational management activities and as an important component of sustainable management. Thus, securing and operating a high-quality information system that can improve the efficiency of business processes is a large part of corporate competitiveness. In order to get such a critical information system, it is only possible to successfully carry out the project. Various attempts and studies have been undertaken to increase the success rate of the project. However, the reality is that the success rate is still not getting much better. In this study, the concept of quality of service, which has long been actively studied in marketing area, was applied as a new factor to enhance the project's success. In this study, project performance activities were defined as the act of providing services. A survey of 164 valid collection data was analyzed. The analysis used SPSS 23. Four process quality factors (customer participation, customer response, knowledge and skills, reliability) and 21 metrics were derived. Through this research, I hope to be the starting point of applying process quality concept as a new breakthrough to increase success rate of project.

Project 계획은 현재의 상황을 어떤 미래의 상향으로 변경하는 것으로 목표가 설정되면, 이 목표를 달성하기 위하여 필요한 조치를 강구해야 한다. 과거에는 수작업의 형태로 일정계획을 수립 및 변경 해 왔으나, 본 논문에서는 Microsoft Office System의 tool를 사용하여 체계적이고 합리적인 계획을 수립함으로서 Project 자료를 분석하고 보관/관리 할 수 있음을 보이고 있다. 또한 Project 자료를 Excel 자료로 변환해서 액셀의 기능을 이용하여 Project 자료를 분석하고 또한 Project의 자료를 xml자료로 변경할 수 있어, xml 데이터베이스를 구축할 수 있어서, 효율적인 자료관리 및 활용이 가능하며 향후 Project 구축의 자동화와 더불어 Excel자료화, XML자료화로 보다더 효율적인 프로젝트 관리가 가능할 것이다.

Recently the complexity and difficulty of the IT projects are increasing due to technological and environmental risks, resulting in the adoption of PMO(Project Management Office) onto IT project management practices, including public area projects. For example, the Korean government regulated the application of PMO onto large scale public IT projects. However, since there has been no reliable method to estimate the cost to execute PMOs, a PMO cost evaluation model to support the budget and cost planning of PMO projects is required. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop a systematic cost evaluation model for PMO projects. We identified the dimensions that determine the PMO execution cost to be the scale of the subject project, the technical difficulty level of the subject project, and the tasks to be executed in the PMO project. Based on the determinants, the PMO execution cost model were developed from historical data and experts opinion. Upon verification, the validity of the developed model has high level of consistency compared with their experiences of real PMO project costs.

For many reasons, SI(Systems Integration) projects can fail. Sometimes, they can result in considerable financial losses to the organizations that undertake them. These projects are abandoned or redirected. However, the cost of project abandonment or redirection can represent a tremendous waste of organizational resources. By managing failure factors carefully, project managers can prevent projects from failing. Types of project failure can be categorized into escalation and de-escalation. Project escalation is that, as projects progress, the project scopes keep increasing. Project de-escalation is that, as projects progress, the project scopes keep decreasing. This study examine relative importance of risk factors that cause project escalation and de-escalation.

Compared to research on the success of IT projects in general, research on the management of conflict in IT teams and its impact on project success is insufficient. This research performed a comparative study to analyze the nature and evolving phenomenon of conflicts in IT project teams. This study aimed at; First, Why a conflict is created within and around an IT project team. Second, What is the phenomenon of conflict evolution, diffusion, and/or resolution? Third, How the differences in conflict management style affects the IT project performance? Three propositions were drawn from the analysis of two intensive analysis of conflict cases and their comparison. Proposition 1 : Both 'the method of pointing out a problem' and 'the pointed-out contents' can be the trigger of conflicts around an IT project. Proposition 2 : While the focus of attention of one party is 'the method of pointing out a problem', if the other's and focus of attention of one party is 'the pointed-out contents', that is, if the focus of attention mismatch, the conflict can be amplified. Proposition 3 : According to the temporal nature of the relationship, e.g., short-term versus long-term, the way people approach and deal with the conflict differs.

The advent of Web2.0 has believed to be the solution against many barriers in information sharing, especially wiki. Information sharing and collaboration are realized voluntarily and unselfishly with wiki. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the benefits and challenges of using wiki as a project management method in an IT/IS project. Wiki-based project management could provide project managers and members with expert knowledge collaboration for better project results. In the research model, we used TMS(Transactive Memory System) theory to define the relation of collaboration and performance of project members. Based on a survey among project members, the interactions between wiki characteristics and performance are examined in an IS project environment. Using Smart PLS 2.0, the data was analyzed to define the interactions by the structural equation modeling. From the empirical data, the mediated effect of expert knowledge collaboration is supported. We also derive the implications of wiki-based method. It is expected to bring new possibilities of Project management performance.

In the success of an IT project, the role of S/W developer in carrying out the project is critical and crucial. However, compared to its importance, there is only a few studies on the role of human resources in software engineering field, mainly focusing on technology. Based on regulatory focus theory, this study examines how the effect of technology recency on developer's intention to participate in the IT project changes depending on the regulatory focus of the software developer. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that there is a difference in the effect of technology recency on project participation intention according to the condition of developer's regulatory focus. This study is meaningful because it extends regulatory focus theory to software engineering field and made theoretical contribution to the research field of behavioral software engineering. In practical, it was possible to suggest a way to improve the intention of the developer to participate in the project, by understanding the software developer in the IT project, considering the software developer propensity and project characteristics.

컴퓨터 및 통신 기술의 혁신으로 IT는 이제 기업에서 이루어지고 있는 업무의 효율성 제고뿐 아니라 새로운 비즈니스 기회 제공의 역할까지 하고 있다. 그로 인하여 기업은 IT 프로젝트를 추진하게 되는 경우가 많아졌는데, 이에 따라 IT에 대한 투자 규모도 점차 커지게 되면서 구축 결과에 대하 관심이 모아지고 있지만 실질적으로 실패하는 경우가 많다. 이에 따라 IT 프로젝트를 수행하는 주체인 PMO가 수행하는 프로젝트 거버넌스의 역할들이 프로젝트 성과로 나타나는 효과를 알아보고 프로젝트 수행 중 일어날 수 있는 여러 가지 문제점에 대한 해결을 위하여 프로젝트 거버넌스의 어떠한 역할이 부각되어야 하는지에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 실증분석 결과 본 연구에서 제시된 프로젝트 거버넌스의 역할들 즉 연결고리 역할, 조정 역할, 통제 역할, 전략적 방향제시 역할, 지원 역할, 사회융화 역할이 모두 프로젝트 성과 향상에 큰 역할을 하는 것을 볼 수 있었고, 특히 프로젝트 도중 생길 수 있는 문제점에 대한 해결을 위하여 갑의 PMO에 대한 통제, 갑의 기업문화 및 환경에 대한 PMO의 명확한 이해가 필수적인 것으로 드러났다. IT프로젝트의 성공을 위해서는 이러한 프로젝트 거버넌스의 역할들을 적극 활용하여야 하며 프로젝트 도중 발생할 수 있는 문제점 해결을 위해서는 통제 및 사회음화 역할을 수정 및 보완하여 활용하여야 할 것이다.
