Recently, as information and communication technology is swiftly developed, consumers feel more convenient in making use of as well as access to the banking service. This change must affect consumer's benefit, however, there are rare previous studies and methods for measuring it. Thus, we utilize hedonic price technique to estimate consumer's benefit of electronic banking information. The results indicate that the price elasticity of consumer's communication service expenditure regarding the use of electronic banking information is about 0.057%. That is, users have willingness to pay 57 Won more than current communication fee for acquiring the additional electronic banking information.
As the competition intensifies and the market matures, marketers are more and more concerned with the relationship marketing. Many of the previous researches have pointed out that not all of the consumers are relationship-oriented. But none of the previous research has systematically investigated this issue. This research investigated the relationship among the three concepts: consumers' intrinsic characteristics, perceived importance of relational benefits, and relationship building intention with the salesperson. In this research the perceived importance of relational benefits is treated as mediating variable in the relationship between consumers' intrinsic characteristics and relationship building intention with the salesperson. The conceptual model in this study can be depicted as follows. From the consumers' perspective relational benefits can be defined as "the additional benefits consumers can receive in addition to core services through the long-term relationship with the service provider." And in this study two kinds of relational benefits are adopted by reviewing the previous research: confidence benefits and social benefits. Relational benefit received from the salesperson is very important to predict consumers' relationship building intention with the salesperson. The more relational benefits consumer wants from the salesperson, the more relationship building intention he/she has. From this point two hypotheses are derived as follows. Hypothesis 1: As the perceived importance of confidence benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 2: As the perceived importance of social benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. In this study four individual characteristics(risk taking tendency, variety-seeking tendency, product knowledge, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson. And three individual characteristics(interpersonal orientation, price consciousness, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson. These 7 hypotheses are as follows. Hypothesis 3: As the risk taking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 4: As the variety-seeking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 5: As the product knowledge increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 6: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 7: As the interpersonal orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 8: As the price consciousness increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 9: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. The whole model in this study can be depicted as follows: Data were collected from the 396 consumers who actually trade stocks through the salesperson and were analyzed using structural equation model. The analysis results show that consumers' perceived importance of relational benefits(confidence benefit and social benefit) play the roles of mediating variables in the causal relationship between consumers' inherent characteristics and their relationship building intention with the salesperson. As for the individual characteristics, the influences of variety-seeking tendency, trust orientation, and price consciousness are statistically significant. It was found that variety-seeking tendency has a significant negative effect on the perceived importance of confidence benefit, and that trust orientation has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of both of confidence and social benefit. Finally it was also found that, on the contrary to the influence direction suggested in the hypothesis, price consciousness has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of social benefit.

This study aims to analyze the benefit-cost of the cleaning device for photovoltaic power generation systems in buildings in order to check its economic feasibility. A product, which has similar characteristics to the ultrasound-based cleaning device and is widely used in South Korea, was selected to compare with the benefit-cost value of the ultrasound-based cleaning device in this study. In order to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze benefit and cost aspects of the two products, categories and evaluation factors of each aspect as well as evaluation criteria were identified. Based on the identified evaluation factors and criteria, this study conducted face-to-face interviews with 15 experts to measure weights of benefit and cost aspects of the products. As the results, the total benefit weight of the ultrasound-based cleaning device was larger than its total cost weight since the benefit-cost value was greater than 1, which was 1.6 times of that of to compared product. Therefore, from the economic perspective, it is worth to develop the cleaning device for photovoltaic power generation systems applying ultrasound technology.

This study is concerned with analysis of user satisfaction for travel behavior. It is aimed at investigating the socioeconomic characteristics, motivation, and use pattern of the visitors at tour. For tourists' perception and preference analysis, multi-dimensional scaling was used. It is left that this type of marketing analysis of tourism and travel offers great potentional for those concerned with the developement and management of tourist vacation areas. First, the study demanstrated clearly that different tourist and portential visitors to a tourist area seek different benefit bundles from their vacation in a particular tourist areas. Second, it demonstrated that a benefit segmentation approach to tourism and travel would be the most effective that the demographic segmentation approach usually pursued in the tourism and travel industry. Form a methodological viewpoint, it has demonstrated an application of multidimensional scaling techniques to marketing in an important industry.
Purpose: Although feminism has been actively discussed and applied to nursing in Western societies since the 1980s, it is little known among Korean scholars as well as Korean nurses. This article explores the use of feminist perspectives in nursing science in other developed countries and suggests how feminism could be applied to nursing science in Korea. Method: The literature related to nursing and feminism were reviewed in terms of nursing practice, education, and research. Result: This article describes what feminism is and how feminism and nursing have evolved historically over time in other countries, especially in Western societies. In addition, it discusses how it can be applied to nursing practice, education, and research in Korea. Conclusion: Accepting feminist perspective in Korean nursing could benefit in empowering nurses by valuing nursing, by raising self-esteem of nurses, and by raising the consciousness of socio-political realities. Eventually it could benefit in changing and developing nursing science in Korea.

The Available Transfer Capability (ATC) is defined as the measure of the transfer capability remaining in the physical transmission network for further commercial activity above already committed uses. Available Transfer Capability (ATC) calculation is a complicated task, which involves the determination I of total transfer capability (TTC), transmission reliability margin (TRM) and capability benefit margin (CBM). As the electrical power industry is restructured and the electrical power exchange is updated per hour, it is important to accurately and rapidly quantify the available transfer capability (ATC) of the transmission system. In ATC calculation,. the existing CPF method is accurate but it has long calculation time. On the contrary, the method using PTDF is fast but it has relatively a considerable error. This paper proposed QFA method, which can reduce calculation time comparing with CPF method and has few errors in ATC calculation. It proved that the method can calculate ATC more fast and accurately in case study using IEEE 24 bus RTS.
Occupational health services in Korea have been operated as dual types : one is operated by occupational health care manager and the other is health care agency without their own personnel. The performance of occupational health service should be different due to the variety of characteristics of health care manager and workplace, qualification of health care manager. This study is to analyze performance of occupational health care services with a particular consideration of job performance shape and efficiency, based on comparing those two types of health care management to show on the basic data for the settlement of more qualitative health care management system at workplace. For this study, total 391 places in Seoul and Inchon city area ; 154 places (39.4%) managed by designated health care manager and 237 places (60.6%) by the agency with their commission are selected as research samples. Tools for data collection are questionnares that have been investigated during the period of 20 September 1993-20 December 1993. Those data are compared with percentiles, mean, standard deviation and B/C ratio using SPSS PC program. Conclusions observed from the tests and each comparison could be summerized as follows : 1. Occupational health care have been accomplished at workplaces with designated people than with agencies people, and coverage rate of the occupational health care services has differences, due to management types. The reason of these results is due to visit only one or two times monthly by the agencies, while their own health care manager obsess, at the workplaces all the times. 2. Most of the expense for environmental control of all health care services expenditures shows that there is almost no fundamental improvement because more expenses are needed for procuring personal protective equipment and measuring work environment instead of environmental improvement. 3. It is investigated how much the cost of occupational health care services needs per worker, and calculated how much the cost needs per service hour per worker. The results from this show that the cost of occupational health services at workplaces with their own managers used less than the cost of health care agencies, eventually the former gives better services with less cost than the latter. 4. Benefit/Cost ratio is also produced by total benefit/total cost. The result from the above way reads 4.57 as a whole, while their own manager having workplaces reads 4.82 and the agencies do l.56. Even if their own manager performing workplaces spent more cost, this system produces more benefit than the agencies management. 5. The B/C ratio for medical organization such as local clinic, health care center and pharmacy shows more than or equal to at the workplaces controlled by the agencies. It is inferred that benefit would be much less than the cost used, with so being inefficient. 6. It is assumed that the efficiency ratio of health education is equal to reduction rate of workers medical organization visit. Estimated reduction rate 5%, 10%, 15%, show that the efficiency ratio of health education have an effect on producing benefits. It is estimated that more benefit can be produced if more qualitative education will be provided for enhancing health care efficiency. 7. Results of this study cannot be generalized because there are large scale of deviation in case of workplaces with less than 300 full time workers, but B/C ratio reads 2.69 as a whole and 3.25 at workplaces with their own health care manager are higher than 1.63 at the workplaces manged by the agencies. Finally, all the benefit concerning health care services could not be quantified, measured and shown on the value of money. This is a reason that a considerable part of benefits are so underestimated. This is also thought that measurement tools should be developed for measuring benefits of health care services with a comprehensive quantification. in the future. It is also expected that efficiency of occupational health care services should be investigated using cost-effectiveness analysis.

The purpose of this study is estimating the recreation benefits of the largest 10 dam reservoirs in Korea. A mixed logit or random parameters log it model is constructed and estimated. Not only the recreation value of each dam lake but also the values of the main characteristics of the lakes such as the amount of water reserved, and the availability of boating and fishing are estimated. It is shown that recreation value is not less than other benefit such as irrigation, industrial, municipal use, hydro power, or even flood control benefit.
Recently, an effective building and utilization of information system are essential in franchise firms as well as corporate management. Accordingly, this study is to examine the structural relationships among partnership quality of supplier, trust with a supplier and commitment, and franchise information system performance based on Henderson's(1990) information system partnership model and Lee and Kim's(1999) partnership model. For these purposes, the authors developed several hypotheses. The data were collected from 173 franchisors and analyzed with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 The results are as following. First, sharing knowledge, interdependence, and mutual benefit influence supplier trust, but do not influence commitment. Second, supplier trust affect commitment and it prove that supplier trust is a full mediating role between partnership quality and commitment of franchise and information system supplier. Third, both supplier trust and commitment have a positive effect on performance of franchise information system. Therefore, it implies that supplier trust is significant factor in an performance of franchise information system. At the end of this paper, managerial and theoretical implications, limitations and future research directions were suggested.
The purpose of this paper is to measure economic impact of marine environment conservation research development project. Benefit-Cost(B/C) analysis and Contingent Valuation Methods(CVM) are used to valuate the benefits from the research development projects. A period of three years for research development fund is considered as a part of the costs and adjusted to the net present value (NPV) of the 2002 ending period. The environmental charges for marine environment improvement are considered for the benefit measurement. The benefits are estimated by using monthly average willingness to pay, which is 2,289 Korean won. The contribution of the developing a management model for environmental pollution in the Gwangyang Bay is evaluated utilizing survey data and information. Based on the assessment by expert groups, the contribution of the model was 37.5%. The research results showed that B/C ratio is 20.61, NPV is 89,200 million Korean won, and social rate of return is 185.7%. When the level of contribution is over 1.83% at the assessment of potential influence, it is recognized to be economically feasible. This research presents a quantitative framework for Research and Development projects for marine environment conservation, and it can be applied to decision making for the investment size of R&D projects.
