Characteristics of Korean Popular Music Festival Fashions According to Popular Music Genres and their Relevance to Music -Focusing on the Years 2019, 2022, and 2023- (대중음악 장르에 따른 국내 대중음악 페스티벌 패션의 특성과 음악과의 연관성 -2019, 2022, 2023년도를 중심으로-)

  • This study examines the morphological and expressive aspects of fashion and its connection to music at Korean music festivals. The research involves a theoretical review and a case study analyzing fashion and music at rock, EDM, hip-hop, and jazz festivals in Korea from 2019 to 2023. The process of selecting fashion cases was reviewed by experts in the field of fashion, and expert focus group interviews were used. The study found that while fashion and music differ in terms of their fundamental morphological components of sensory media, they share features in terms of sensory harmony between their components. In terms of expressive aspects of fashion, it was found that the subject and object of expression are the same for the artist and for the audience. Both music and fashion have sensory transmission and communication between the subject and the audience, and both transmit personal and social meaning. Using these commonalities as indicators of relevance, a relevance evaluation was conducted. As a result of the evaluation, popular music festival fashion and music were interpreted as having a high degree of relevance in terms of expressing emotions and tastes, providing a sense of belonging to a community, and conveying cultural meaning.

The Correlation between Japanese Animation and Spyri's (일본 애니메이션 <알프스 소녀 하이디>와 슈피리 문학과의 연관성)

  • This essay is about the considering the mutual relevance of animation and literary work in a case. The television animation Heidi, Girl of the Alps made in Japan is the most famous media version of the original novel. The novel Heidi by the Switzerland writer Johanna Spyri has been translated in a lot of countries, and the original Heidi has been adapted for mass media - literary(translation), movie, play, animation, cartoon, picture book. Here, with the relation between animation Heidi, Girl of the Alps and Spyri's Heidi and the present condition of the change in Japan and Korea, the relevance of animation and literature was reconsidered. First, Heidi, Girl of the Alps and Heidi have the different characteristic as media, and the content has some different set-up. On the other hand, original soul is inherited in the animation. Second, the animation has affected Heidi related visual image and the original media diffusion. The above consideration from a viewpoint of the mutual relevance between media shows the importance to return aiming at mutual understanding of animation and literature and mutual value between the diversified media. Moreover, it suggests a possibility of leading to creation of the energy which results in transformation also to action.

Relationship between Dietary Intake and Depression in Metabolic Syndroem among Korean Adults: Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2014 (대사증후군 환자에서 영양소 섭취 상태와 우울증과의 연관성: 2014년 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여)

  • Objectives: Metabolic syndrome and depression are interconnected disorders. Although many studies have assessed the association between dietary intake and each disorder independently, few studies have examined the association between depression and dietary intake in patients with metabolic syndrome. Our study examined the association between depression and dietary intake in adults with metabolic syndrome. Methods: We analyzed the second data set (2014) from the sixth KNHNES. Of the patients with metabolic syndrome, the final study population comprised 1,334 patients, aged 20 to 60 years, with metabolic syndrome as defined by KNHNES and depression diagnosed by a physician. We examined the patients' dietary intake obtained using the 24-h recollection method in KNHNES. Results: Depression group had a lower niacin dietary intake than those without depression in both male and female (male P=0.047, female P=0.025). None of the other components had any association between depression group and those without depression group in both male and female. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that a low dietary intake of niacin may be related to the depression in patients with metabolic syndrome. The results indicate that it is worthwhile to evaluate the nutritional status in patients who have been diagnosed with both metabolic syndrome and depression.

The Correlation of Tear Break-Up Time according to Corneal Refractive Power (각막굴절력에 따른 누액층 파괴시간 분포와 연관성)

  • In this study, the relation between the corneal refractive power and the tear break-up time(TBUT) was analyzed. The results can be effectively used in eye clinics and served as the reference on wearing the contact lenses. We had measured the radius of the corneal of university students who are in the range of 21 to 27 year-old and who don't have eye disease. The corneal refractive power was calculated by using the radius of the corneal. And TBUT is the time when the mire image is distorted first time. The relation between the corneal refractive power and TBUT in right eye was a linear as 'y=37.921-0.610x', in which the larger the refractive power of the cornea is, the shorter TBUT is(negative relationship; r=-0.462, p=0.010). The relation in left eye was also a negatively linear as 'y=41.894-0.695x'(r=-0.509, p=0.004). Consequently, in both eyes the corneal refractive power and TBUT have a negative correlation when myopia is a high. It is possible to predict TBUT, which is necessary in deciding on wear of contact lenses, by measuring the corneal radius of subjects.

Relations Among Sunspots, CMEs and Geomagnetic Storms in Solar Cycle 23 (태양주기 23의 흑점, CME 및 지자기폭풍의 빈도간 상관관계 연구)

  • We compare the relation among the annual distribution of sunspots: coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and geomagnetic storms and North-South asymmetry during solar cycle 23. For this purpose, we calculate correlation coefficients between (i) annual distribution and N-S asymmetry of CMEs - sunspots (ii) distribution of CMEs - occurrence number of geomagnetic storms (iii) distribution of sunspots - occurrence number of geomagnetic storms. We find that (i) the annual distribution of total CMEs has good correlation with distribution of annual average of sunspots but poor correlation with N-S asymmetry of sunspots, N-S asymmetry of CMEs has good correlation with N-S asymmetry of sunspots: (ii) total and N-S asymmetry of CMEs have poor correlation with occurrence number of geomagnetic storms, it's, however, well correlated with the classified groups of CMEs (Ap, Dst and an indices vs. fast CMEs($\upsilon$ > $1000kms^{-1}$), Dst index vs. Halo CMEs), and (iii) sunspot numbers and area are correlated with occurrence number of geomagnetic storms. We conclude that annual distribution of CMEs and sunspots have well correlated with geomagnetic storms, N-S asymmetry of CMEs and sunspots have poor correlated with the geomagnetic storms.

Expression Pattern of EphB2 in Gastric Cancer (위암에시 EphB2 단백의 발현 양상)

  • Purpose: The EphB2 receptor, a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family, is a target gene of the Wnt signaling pathway and may achieve a tumor suppressor function through regulation of cell growth and migration. Our aim was to determine whether an altered expression of EphB2 might be associated with gastric cancer development and, if so, to determine to which pathologic parameter it is linked. Materials and Methods: For the construction of the gastric cancer tissue microarray, 83 paraffin-embedded tissues containing gastric cancer areas were cored 3 times and transferred to the recipient master block. The expression patterns of EphB2 were examined on tissue microarray slides by using immunohistochemistry and were compared using pathologic parameters, including histological type, depth of invasion, lymph node metastatsis, and peritoneal dissemination. Results: The EphB2 protein was expressed in the normal gastric mucosal epithelium, especially in the bottom of the mucosa. We found loss of EphB2 expression in 30 (36.1%) of the 83 gastric cancer tissues. Statistically, loss of EphB2 expression was more common in gastric cancer with lymph-node metastasis. There was no significant correlation between EphB2 expression and depth of invasion, histologic type, or peritoneal dissemination. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that loss of EphB2 expression may represent a critical step in gastric carcinogenesis.

Association of a Single Nucleotide Polymorphism with Economic Traits in Porcine Uncoupling Protein 3 Gene (돼지의 UCP3 유전자의 단일염기서열 변이와 경제형질과의 연관성 분석)

  • Uncoupling protein (UCP) 3 has a number of proposed roles in the regulation of fatty acid metabolism. A number of polymorphisms in the human UCP3 gene have been identified, and the correlation with obesity related phenotypes evaluated. The objective of this study was to identify SNP in porcine UCP3 gene and to investigate the effect of the SNP on economic traits. The sequencing analysis method was used to identify nucleotide polymorphisms at position 1405 bp (Genebank accession No : AY739704) in porcine UCP3 gene. The SNP (G150R), located in the exon 3, changed the amino acid to glycine (GGG) from arginine (AGG). This G150R showed three genotypes - GG, GR and RR - by digestion with the restriction enzyme Sma Ⅰ using the PCR-RFLP method. The G150R showed significant effects only on back fat (P<0.05). Animals with the genotype GG had significantly higher back fat thickness (1.358 cm) than animals with the genotype GR (1.288 cm, P<0.05) and RR (1.286 cm, P<0.05). However, the genotypes had no significant association with ADG and days to 90kg. According to results of this study, a G allele of the G150R was found to have a significant effect on back fat thickness. It will be possible to use SNP markers on selected pigs to improve backfat thickness, an important economic trait.

Acromion Morphology in Coronal and Sagittal Plane; Correlation with Rotator Cuff Syndrome (관상면과 시상면에서의 견봉 형태와 회전근개 파열의 연관성)

  • Purpose: We evaluated the correlation of the anatomic parameters of the acromion those represent on the magnetic resonance image (MRI) of impingement syndrome. Materials and Methods: From June, 2004 to December, 2005, 71 cases were surgically proven to be impingement syndrome, and the anterior acromial hooking angle, the lateral acromial hooking angle (AAHA and LAHA) and the acromial hooking index (AHI: the sum of the AAHA and LAHA) were compared to 16 control cases. At the same period, 55 cases were surgically proven to be partial or full thickness rotator cuff tear, and age, gender and twelve anatomic parameters, including the acromial type, the acromial angle, the anterior covering, the acromial slope, the AAHA, the lateral acromial angle, the acromial torsional angle, the lateral acromial angulation, the LAHA, the lateral covering, the acromiohumeral distance and the AHI were assessed. Results: The AAHA and AHI were increased as impingement syndrome proceeded. The acromial type and acromial angle, and the AAHA, LAHA and AHI showed significant differences between the controls and the rotator cuff tear patients on univariant analysis. On multivariant analysis, gender was most strongly correlated with rotator cuff tear. Age, AAHA and the acromial angle showed similar correlation, respectively. Conclusion: The coronal acromial shape is correlated with rotator cuff tear, and it is important to correct the lateral acromial shape when performing acromioplasty.

Relationship between Sporulation and Synthesis of Alkaline Protease in Streptomyces sp. (방선균 일주에서 포자형성과 호알칼리성 단백질 분해효소의 생합성과의 관계성)

  • The aims of the present studies were to understand the physiolosical and genetic characters of Streptomyces sp. isolated from soil. It revealed that Streptomyces sp. SMF301 had very fast growth rate and produced extracellular protease and heavily sporulated on rich media. It also showed $\beta$-lactamase activity and pigment production. Nonsporulating mutants were isolated after NTG or acriflavin treatment and their characters were compared with the parent strain. It was found that the mutants obtained by acriflavin treatment and ghier characters were compared with the parent strain. It was found that the mutants obtained by acriflavin treatment lost the pigment formation and $\beta$-lactamase production. Protease actibity of the mutant was lowered and the pH optimum was changed toward neutral. It was found that the changes were resulted from the reduction of alkaline protease biosynthesis in the bald mutant. Therefore it is considered that sporulation, pigment formation, $\beta$-lactamase production, and alkaline protease production in Streptomyces sp. might be controlled with a closely related relationship.

Analysis of the Relationship Between the 2022 Revised Middle Science Curriculum and Korean Science Education Standards (KSES) (2022 개정 중학교 과학과 교육과정과 과학교육표준(KSES)의 연관성 분석)

  • The Korean Science Education Standards (KSES) were developed to support the establishment of a domestic national science curriculum to respond to future social and environmental changes as an action plan to improve scientific literacy in the context of science education. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between KSES and the 2022 revised middle science curriculum focusing its learning contents and learning objectives and sought effects of the successful implementation of the curriculum. As a result, the content system of the 2022 revised middle science curriculum was highly related to the categories of knowledge in KSES. Attempts to deal with the content related to the nature of science was also confirmed through content elements in science and society domains. In the case of achievement standards, it was focused on some areas of the performance expectations in KSES, but the level of statement of the achievement standards closely matched the level of middle school students as suggested by KSES. From these results, it was possible to confirm the high relationship between the 2022 revised middle science curriculum and KSES, as well as the possibility of using KSES as an international indicator for establishing future science education plans.
