  • The progress in IT has increased work efficiency in many fields, leading to the start of a new era where information is exchanged by connecting all objects under the paradigm of IoT. Interest is growing on the convergence of various fields of study that goes beyond simply applying IT to research to increase efficiency in multidisciplinary studies. As such, there is a need to develop an IT-based model that can be applied to social welfare work. Social welfare workers in Korea at present have twice the workload and stress of those of their counterparts in other OECD countries. This leads to decreased work efficiency. This paper seeks to suggest a way to increase efficiency in social welfare work by improving the work process through IT-based systems. The study is expected to contribute to increased efficiency in the area of social welfare.

Adsorption Effect of Heavy Metals (Zn, Ni, Cd, Cu) in Aqueous Solution Using Bottom Ash of Biomass Power Plant (바이오매스 발전소 저회를 활용한 수용액 내 중금속(Zn, Ni, Cd, Cu) 흡착 효과)

  • BACKGROUND: The number of biomass power plants is increasing around the world and the amount of wastes from power plants is expected to increase. But the bottom ash (BA) is not recycled and has been dumped in landfill. This study was conducted to find out functional groups of BA and adsorption rate of heavy metals on BA. METHODS AND RESULTS: The BA was dried in oven at 105℃ for 24 hours, and characterized by analyzing the chemistry, functional group, and surface area. The adsorption rates of heavy metals on BA were evaluated by different concentration, time, and pH. As a result, the adsorption amount of the heavy metals was high in the order of Zn> Cu> Cd> Ni and the removal rates of Zn, Cu, Cd, and Ni by BA was 49.75, 30.20, 32.46, and 36.10%, respectively. Also, the maximum adsorption capacity of BA was different by the heavy metal in the environmental conditions, and it was suggested that the isotherms for Zn, Ni, Cd, and Cu were adequate to Langmuir model. CONCLUSION(S): It is suggested that it would be effective to remove heavy metals in aqueous solution by using BA from biomass power plants in South Korea.

'뉴 IT전략'은 이러한 변화된 경제적 사회적 환경에서 IT산업이 치열한 글로벌 경쟁에서 살아남고 우리 경제의 지속적 성장동력이 되기 위해 마련한 IT산업의 새로운 성장전략으로서, IT산업 자체의 고도화를 바탕으로 전(全)산업과 IT가 융합하여 제조업을 고부가가치화시키고, 친환경 고령화 등 경제사회 문제해결에 IT산업이 기여하는 전략을 담고 있다. 기술간 산업간 융합을 통해 IT산업 성장의 한계를 극복하고 타산업 발전에 기여하는 '뉴 IT전략' 추진을 통해, 오늘의 경제 위기 상황을 극복하고 우리나라 산업 선진화에 핵심적 역할을 수행할 것으로 기대된다.

Development of a Model of Animation Education Contents applied in STEAM (융합인재교육(STEAM)을 위한 애니메이션 교육콘텐츠 모형 제안)

  • The purpose of this research is to study possibilities of animation education in art centered STEAM. We suggest not the animation education contents model of a functional skills of the past but the one for STEAM. In order to suggest the role of animation education, we should first study the convergence values of animation. And this study make a curriculum of animation for the creativity by convergence thinking. Finally, this study build the animation class model applied in STEAM by Fogarty's integrated education method. By studying, we can get the result that animation has the convergence characteristics and it has the effective role of art centered STEAM education for the convergence thinking. Also, it is expected that the results of this study will contribute to education and training of convergence of the global talent with creativity in STEAM.

  • While this paper will be of interest to Convergence of Knowledge and Border Thinking, one of my main concerns has been to open the world of mind. Because the convergence of knowledge and border thinking are closely related to the problems of mind. It should be clear from this procedure that the scope of this study is limited. It is not intended to be a definitive account of all problems of mind, bur rather a clear and thorough account of that segment of mind that pertains to an analysis of convergence of knowledge and border thinking. This claim, with their supporting arguments, will be discussed as follow; 1. What our knowledge has been for? 2. Knowledge and convergence of knowledge 3. How is the convergence of knowledge made up? 1) meeting at border 2) mind as a border 3) converging at mind.

The Impact of Perceived IT Threat on Convergence Information System Performance (지각된 IT위협이 융합 정보시스템 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Based on Technology Threat Avoidance Theory, this study explains the process that the users cope with IT Threat and accomplish IS outcome. To empirically test the proposed model, data were collected through a survey of respondents who have the experience of using IS, and analyzed by using structural equations modelling. The result shows IT Threat had negative effects on Problem-Focused Coping and IS Appropriation. Also Problem-Focused Coping had significant effects on IS Appropriation and IS Appropriation had positive relation on IS Performance. In conclusion the study proposed that IT users improve Convergence Information System Performance by Problem-Focused Coping when they perceive IT Threat.

  • A rapid growth of IT convergence into different application areas draws a lot of interest in high performance platform and embedded system. Industry needs well educated computer professionals with the practical understanding on the emerging technologies and core issues of contemporary popular services. In this paper, we present an education framework for computer system architecture based on rigorous analyses of the characteristics of IT convergence services and information technology trends. The proposed framework puts emphasis on real-world and hands-on subjects related to multicore architecture, embedded system and parallel processing. We believe effective use in the development and management of computer system architecture courses encouraging both industries and students.

  • The environment of IT is, currently, on its developing process to the period of cloud computing, big data, and business intelligence which not only enable computer and internet to be utilized like the water or the air, but also be a new motivating force for its advance. In the respect of various interactions and Infographics, however, it is requiring more demands from its users, and additional functions which cannot be provided by the Web Browser. In this study, therefore, it will be suggested a design of N-screen convergence presentation tier by using infographics based on N-Tier platform.

Effects of Liquid Fertilizer of Application from Rendered Livestock Carcass Residues on Maize Cultivation (랜더링 처리된 가축사체 잔류물로 제조한 액비 시용이 옥수수 재배에 미치는 효과)

  • BACKGROUND: Liquid fertilizers can provide nutrients to crops effectively and quickly. Amino acid liquid fertilizers produced by decomposing the residues of rendered livestock carcasses are expected to be effective in improving the productivity and quality of crops. METHODS AND RESULTS: The treatment conditions for maize cultivation were control (Cn), inorganic fertilizer (IF), inorganic fertilizer and rendering residue liquid fertilizer (IF+RALF), compost (CP), compost and rendering residue liquid fertilizer (CP+RALF). Crop productivity, sugar content, and nutrient uptake were investigated after maize harvest in the field applied with liquid fertilizers. Maize yields ranged from 87.6-158 g/plant, and the yield increased by 7.9% and 12.9% in IF+RALF IF+RALF and CP+RALF than in IF and CP, respectively. The maize sugar content increased in the range of 0.1-0.5 brix % by rendering residue liquid fertilizer (RALF) fertilization, and the sugar content was the highest in CP+RALF. There was no significant change in soil chemical properties of the soil due to liquid fertilizer treatment. CONCLUSION(S): RALF increased yield and sugar content in maize cultivation, and fertilization with organic fertilizers was more effective for maize cultivation than inorganic fertilizers. Residues of rendered livestock carcass can be recycled as amino acid fertilizers, which can be effectively used for crop production and quality improvement.

IT Convergence u-Learning Contents using Agent Based Modeling (에이전트 기반 모델링을 활용한 IT 융합 u-러닝 콘텐츠)

  • The purpose of this research is to develope and implement a convergent educational contents based on theoretical background of integrated education using agent based modeling in the ubiquitous learning environment. The structure of this contents consists of three modules that were designed by trans-disciplinary concept and situated learning theory. These three modules are: convergent problem presenting module, resource of knowledge module and learning of agent based modeling and IT tools module. After the satisfaction survey of the implemented content, out of 5 total value, the average value was 3.86 for effectiveness, 4.13 for convenience and 3.86 for design. The result of the survey shows that the users are generally satisfied. By using this u-learning contents, learners can experience and learn how to solve the convergent problem by utilizing IT tools without any limitation of device, time and space. At the same time, the proposal of structural design of contents can be a good guideline to the researchers to develop the convergent educational contents in the future.
