This study analyzed the competitiveness of major export industries following the FTA between Korea and five Central American countries. Findings revealed that Korea mainly exports industrial products such as ships, automobiles and parts, steel, and electronic devices, and it imports raw materials and agricultural products such as coffee and copper, indicating a complementary trade structure. Similarly, the trade specialization index analysis revealed that Korea specialized in exporting industrial products such as ships, automobiles, steel, and machinery, and in importing primary products such as copper and coffee. Products such as ships, steel, and machinery, which are major export items to Central America, are expected to further strengthen their competitiveness due to tariff cuts. In addition, it is expected that the demand for medicines and medical supplies could increase in future due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This study attempted to present implications for establishing export strategies by analyzing the competitiveness of Korea's major export industries in the Central American market, in accordance with the Korean-Central American FTA. These findings could be used as basic data for future entry into South America as a bridgehead in the Central American market.

This study investigates any possible influences of the fourth industrial revolution on international trade in Korea and suggests strategies to promote export of Korea in order to secure one of the biggest international trade countries. The fourth industrial revolution is the fourth major industrial era since the third industrial revolution in the 18th century which used electronics and information technology to automate production. This can be characterized as a range of emerging technologies that are fusing the physical, digital and biological worlds, and impacting all disciplines, economies and industries. Since this revolution is expected to have effects on international trade as well as whole industrial society, it examines how it may affect international trade of Korea in terms of the subject, the object, markets and forms of international trade. After that, it provides the strategies to promote Korean export in order to overcome the risks around the low economic growth of the recent years and the depressed domestic economy.

From January 2000 to September 2006, we use the 81 months of the data to estimate the exportation and importation function of the Korea information communications main device industry towards to U.S., and through this process we extract the cost elasticity. And from cost elsticity, we estimate the exportation and importation enlarging effect between Korea and U.S assumption of the exportation and importation reduction rate was givien to MRA contract between Korea and U.S.

The medical instrument industry which is one of the high value added industry has been neglected on the various system and political support because it has been recognized as an unknown field to the public although it is the very easy-approaching field for the export market that minimize a technological gap between advanced country and Korea. Especially, the product design that is very important element for the efficient medical treatment and the psychological stabilization of patient is a typical field of lack of investment and support by the unconcern and lack of understanding of design. Therefore this research suggests the current problem of design with the general inquiry of internal and external market situation and domestic medical instrument industry and also it has the conclusion of an alternative proposal for the solution with the design development processing of a moving type-image diagnostic equipment. We will emboss the importance of design competitiveness, suggest the model and basic data to the medical instrument company that starts later, and be a role of inspiration for the lasting investible desire with this research.

This study has been carried out to provide data for the workforce by analyzing personnel status of medical device manufacturers, level of difficulty in securing human resource, reason for difficulty in securing human resource, resignation rate, and recruitment methods. Results, medical device manufacturers are required overseas sales personnel responsible for international certification and exported, regardless of the production item. And the company is located in the metropolitan area did not facilitate a secure workforce. Medical device manufacturers have difficulties in securing personnel, regardless of the employees and sales. In particular, Class 3 production company was more difficult. The reason that it is difficult to secure the human resources is attributable to the poor working conditions of the private companies and there is a few possible employees equipped with the job competency demanded by corporate entities. With respect to the analysis on the retirement rate, the larger the company scale and the more the employee number, more difficulty is experienced in the human resource management. Therefore, for any medical device manufacturers with large organization scale, it would be critical to introduce appropriate human resource management program.

세계 최대의 정보통신 박람회‘세빗(CeBIT) 2005’가 독일 하노버의 아이치 메세 전시장에서 지난달 10일부터 일주일간 화려하게 펼쳐져 세계인의 이목을 집중시켰다. 올해로 20회를 맞은 이번 전시회에는 우리나라를 비롯해 전세계 70여개국 6,200여개 IT기업이 참가해 첨단 휴대폰, 네트워크, 디지털가전, 소프트웨어, 사무기기의 기술과 제품을 선보였다. 국내업체로서는 삼성전자, LG전자, 팬택계열이 대형 전시관을 마련했고 레인콤,한글과컴퓨터 등 총 190개 업체가 제품 전시회와 수출 상담을 진행했다.

This article verifies the actual conditions of the Wonju area medical devices cluster for presentation of method for increasing promotion. It examines the general status of companies, reason for location, competitive power and supporting system with a questionnaire survey and in-depth research. The Wonju area has 79 medical device companies. It comprised 9% of total sales and 11% of export sales of korea medical devices in 2007. For enhancement of the Wonju area medical devices ability to accumulate and attract of medical device companies and front-line and back-line industries, the followings is needed, a supply of highly qualified man power, a support base for developing modem technology and information marketing, adequate infrastructure for housing and education system, methodologies for sustaining new business and innovation fund-raising programs and marketing, and provide the highest degree of education for CEO.
