  • ISO 9000 is a management standard that provides customers with assurance thu their registered suppliers have a consistent quality system to which they adhere. this paper draws on four sources to show how ISO 9000 can lead to performance improvement. 1)theories of induces innovation and improvisation 2) the literature on ISO 9000 3) a case study of a telecom company. we find that the extent to which ISO 9000 is associated with performance improvement depends on the level of its assimilation, and the degree to which an organization goes beyond the minimal requirements of the standard.

  • This paper analyzes the differences in the organizational behavior of domestic Metro employees between enterprises with ISO quality management implemented and those without. Based on the required guidelines in ISO quality management, an empirical study on the effect of employee education and training, work processes, job satisfaction, and leadership on customer satisfaction performance is conducted. The results demonstrate that the work process in the ISO quality management certified enterprises exhibits a positive effect on customer satisfaction performance; however, the employee education and training did not exhibit immediate effects. In addition, job satisfaction and leadership are identified to have a mediating effect on the correlation between the work process, education and training, and customer satisfaction.

  • ISO 9000 series, as quality management system that assesses quality system based on the documentation such as quality manual, documented procedures, specification is properly operated and then decides to give a certification, is a screening documented system that includes factors which may influence quality. Therefore, to have a proper documented system and its performance accordant to it is very important to the company which hopes to acquire the certification of ISO 9000 series. So, the objectives of this paper are to increase the efficiency of the work by cutting down efforts necessary to establish and revise documented procedures for the certification of the ISO 9000 series in the company using the documentation system.

  • Configuration Management (CM) is a management discipline that applies technical and administrative direction to the development, production and support life cycle of a configuration item. This paper introduces an application of this disicipline to ISO 9000 quality systems. A proto type CM information system caned CM / ISO 9000 is implemented via a comparison and anal37sis of CM standards such as ISO 10007, MIL-STD-2549 and EIA Standard IS-649. This system demonstrates 4 basic CM functions consisting of configuratin identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audit. In the system, configuration items such as documents and drafts can be managed to ensure effective ISO 9000 quality systems. Implementation is supported by IDEF0, IDFF1x in modeling, MS SQL Server Ver. 7.0 as DBMS and Visual Basic Ver. 6.0 for interface programming.

  • The production, processing, sale and service of food materials are not subject to attainment via a single country. In accordance with internationalization of the world, issues related to food safety have emerged as critical international concerns and they are closely associated with the health and interest of domestic consumers, producers, manufacturers, and distributors. As a third party certification standards, ISO 22000 is in progress International Organization for Standardization(ISO) and the Draft International Standard(DIS) has already been presented on December 2004. The purpose of this study is to analyze the international standards, guidelines and legislation in regard of Food Safety Management System(FSMS) including ISO 9001, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point(HACCP) and Product Liability(PL) so as to present Korean-model Food Safety Management System requirements and system establishment model.

  • CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) has been recognized as a critical method to validate the competitiveness of software development organization since its introduction. CMMI imposes additional requirements on the software development organization which has been established and certified to the ISO 9001 quality management system. This paper reviews the similarities and differences between CMMI and ISO 9001. This paper also examines what ate required to deploy the CMMI on the aircraft software development organization which has been certified to ISO 9001. The results of this study will help software development organization to provide the direction for implementing CMMI. Some suggestions are presented to identify and strengthen the weak portion of the software process quality management system.

  • The effect of ISO 9000 jcertification for quality management is investigated. 213 domestic manufacturing companies which had been certified more than one and half year ago were selected to send the questionnaires for a field survey. Among them 89 were returned. Crosby's Quality Management Maturity Grid' is utilized for analyzing the effect of ISO 9000 certification aquistion. Comparisons for the QM maturity level are made between before- and after-aquisition. It is shown that, on the average, the QM maturity level had been increased from awakening (stage 2) to the mid point of enlightenment(stage 3) and wisdom(stage 4).

  • Recently, CMM have been recognized as a critical factor to validate the competitiveness of software organizations, even if the organizations have already achieved the ISO9001 certification. Furthermore, the new version of ISO9001:2000 is being required instead of ISO9001:1994. Both CMM and ISO9001 have a common point that they pursuit quality improvement for the organizations processes and products. Therefore, it is important to understand the similarities of specific requirements between the two models in software organizations which attempt to employ both of the models. From this background, this paper compares CMM and ISO9001 by considering the versions in 1994 and 2000 of ISO9001. The results of this research are likely to help software organizations ma]fe a decision for a strategy to adopt CMM and ISO9001.

  • Purpose: This paper studied about the integration for management system of representative international standard related to sustainable development. The well-known International standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) can be operated in accordance with the organizational situation individually, or in a variety of ways of integration. It can be applied to help organizations utilizing the newly established "ISO IEC Directive Part1 Annex SL", when integrating quality, environmental and safety & health management systems based on international standards. Methods: We conducted an empirical survey of management executives and experts to study how three factors (management systems, organizational capabilities and integration methods) could affect business performance. Results: The questionnaire was analyzed using AMOS structural equation model. Quality, environmental and safety and health management systems affected management performance, and integration methods of management system affected business efficiency, risk performance and financial performance. Integration method is also important because organizational competence affects various aspects of integrated management. However, factors that affect integration should also be considered in terms of organizational capabilities. This is because organizational capacity influences the integration plan. Conclusion: To integrate the document system at the strategic level, management should actively participate in integrated operations to integrate organizations, eliminate duplicate tasks, and foster document integration experts to reflect the characteristics of individual standard. In the case of document integration, quality management is focusing, but once ISO 45001 is issued, the use of Annex SL is increasing, and Quality, environment and safety & health integration will also be expanded. It is possible to increase the effect of integration by strategically approaching and establishing organization document system rather than simple integration according to management system standard arrangement.

  • In spite of some similarities between KS(Korean Industrial Standards) certification audit criteria and ISO 9001 certification requirements, most of companies manage the two certification systems independently. In this study, we analyze two certification systems, find common points and propose a model or guideline of the integrated system management for small companies. This research compares KS criteria with ISO requirements in detail. A survey is carried out to check and review the situation of the manufacturers which obtain both KS and ISO 9001 certification. Survey results show that there is a small difference in certification management according to company's size, but some benefit points of the integration management regardless of company's size.
