Design and Verification Standard for Safety and Cybersecurity of Autonomous Cars: ISO/TR 4804 (자율주행자동차의 안전 및 보안을 위한 설계 및 검증 표준: ISO/TR 4804)

  • This paper describes ISO/TR 4804, an international standard to describe how to design and verify autonomous cars to ensure safety and cybersecurity. Goals of ISO/TR 4804 are (1) positive risk balance and (2) avoidance of unreasonable risk. It also 12 principles of safety and cybersecurity to achieve these goals. In the design procedures, it describes (1) 13 capabilities to achieve these safety and cybersecurity principles, (2) hardware and software elements to achieve these capabilities, and (3) a generic logical architecture to combine these elements. In the verification procedures, it describes (1) 5 challenges to ensure safety and cybersecurity, (2) test goals, platforms, and solutions to achieve these challenges, (3) simulation and field operation methods, and (4) verification methods for hardware and software elements. Especially, it regards deep neural network as a software component and it describe design and verification methods of autonomous cars.

Structural Design of Polyethylene Boat Hull by using Longitudinal Bending Strength Test Method (종굽힘강도시험방법을 이용한 폴리에틸렌 보트 선체의 구조 설계)

  • ISO 12215-5 standard describes allowable stress design specifications of monohull small boat with a length of hull between 2.5 m and 24 m constructed from fiber reinforced plastics, aluminium or steel alloys, glued wood or other suitable boat building material. If small boat hull is under 2.5m in overall length or nonstandard material is used as boat building material, structural reliability of small boat hull is assured by drop test specification, but not by structural design specification in accordance with ISO 12215-5. Drop test specification of boat hull can be applied to manufactured product. But it is difficult and complicated to apply drop test specification to structural design of boat hull. In this study, we present structural design method of polyethylene boat hull on the basis of longitudinal bending strength test specification.

  • In this study, we prepared three kinds of substrate for the adhesion strength test of cementitious tile adhesive. As a result, the maximum adhesion strength is obtained from the concrete substrate specified in ISO 13007 regardless of curing condition of tile cement specimens.

  • For this study we investigated situation of domestic standardization in contact lens field. The rate of contact lens wearing have increased lately, nevertheless Korean Industrial Standard just has been translated into the regulations of ISO(International Organization for Standardization), and it has been applied. Moreover there is not any the domestic original regulation yet. Therefor, for this study we investigated current situation of the ISO in contact lens field and fitness of standard in our present actual condition. Also, by grasping the problems which it follows.

Proposition of Korean Type Powered Wheelchair Seat Standards According to Age of the Human Scale (연령별 인체 치수에 따른 한국형 전동휠체어 좌석 표준규격 제언)

  • As one of the most widely used assistive technology devices for the disabled in Korea, the powered wheelchair conforms to KS P ISO 7176-5 standard size which uses original version of international standard, ISO 7176-5 without technological modification. However, the international standard is not suitable for the disabled in Korea because it defines the size of wheelchair based on the body size of foreigners, which causes imbalanced posture due to limitation of movement or rotation of pelvis, pressure ulcer incidence due to excessive pressure on the thigh or popliteal space and calf, and safety of reduction due to improper posture. This study suggested the guidance of size for powered wheelchair based on human body size examined by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, showing a great difference from the size defined in KS P ISO 7176-5 and accordingly redefinition for the size of powered wheelchair is needed.

  • Nowadays, vehicle becoming necessity is increasing gradually and is main cause of environmental problem. The current automobile noise measurement test method such as ISO 362 which have been used many countries contribute seriously to enforce the regulation of the noise rigidly and actively study vehicle's noise, using that method. However, the amendment of ISO 362 was completed under the international agreement due to the changes in vehicle's techniques and road conditions. In this study, the difference between the current ISO 362(or ECE R51) and new ISO 362(or new ECE R51) is estimated by the test using the practical car producing domestically because the Korean manufacturer have to be interested in new test method.

ISO 규격에서 규정한 표준용기 기체도입 도관의 직경에 대한 고찰

  • 진공펌프의 배기성능 지표들을 정량적으로 측정하기 위해서 사용하는 표준용기에 관한 규격들은 대체로 일치하는 사양들을 제시하지만 유독 기체도입 도관의 굵기에 대해서는 다양한 방식으로 규정하고 있어서 혼란스럽다. 현재 제정중인 ISO 규격에서는 도관 굵기를 용기 내경의 10분의 1로 규정하고 있는데 대형 펌프 용 표준용기에 맞춘다면 도관의 굵기가 지나치게 커질 수 있다. 과연 이렇게 굵은 도관이 정밀한 측정을 위해 꼭 필요한지 또는 오히려 방해가 되는 것은 아닌지 검토해 보기 위해 도관 굵기에 따라 도관출구를 빠져나오는 입자들과 오리피스 및 펌프 흡기구에 입사하는 입자들의 등방성에 대해 살펴보았다 계산 결과에 의하면 도관의 굵기는 오리피스 및 펌프 흡기구에 입사하는 입자들의 평균 방향 여현 값에 전혀 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며 반면에 도관이 오리피스나 흡기구 면에 국부적으로 그림자를 드리우거나 입자 분포와 평균 방향여현 분포를 왜곡시키지도 않았다. 즉 기체 도입 도관을 가늘게 해도 빔효과가 계속 전파되어서 측정에 악영향을 미치지 않으므로 별 문제가 안 되고, 도관이 규정되어 있는 범위 안에서 어느 정도 굵어져도 입자의 흐름을 방해한다는 증거는 없다는 뜻이다. 그렇다면 도관의 굵기를 한 값으로 못 박기보다 넓은 범위를 주어 가공 능력에 따라 사용자가 적절히 크기를 선택할 수 있도록 하는 것이 합리적이라고 판단된다.

  • This Study investigates the Structural Integrity of Boats for Divers, given increased demands for Underwater and Recreational use. We conducted research on a Small Catamaran with a Moon Pool in the center of the Hull, using the Finite Element Method to calculate allowable stress based on the ISO Rule. We computed the coefficients defined in ISO 12215-5 and TC118.1225-7, and determined the suitability of using the ISO Standard and Allowable Stress Design method (ASD) by applying Longitudinal Bending Moment, Torsional moment, and Bottom Slamming Load. We also applied the Ultimate Strength Design Method (LFRD) using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). As a Result of this Research, it was found that ships with a Moon Pool do have Structural Integrity according to their Design in accordance with ISO and KR Regulations.

  • Special Working Group on Directives under ISO/IEC JTC 1 is responsible to maintain core documents describing basic procedural and drafting rules to be followed by JTC 1. The Directives SWG meeting was held from August 31 to September 2 in 2011 in Ottawa Canada. There were 24 participants from 7 countries in this meeting. This paper is to review the major results of the meeting and to suggest some strategic ways for future standardization activities in Korea.
