In this paper, a two-section method for measuring is introduced and the variation sources of measurement process are analysed. Measuring is a special process in general process. Various variation source must be firstly decomposed so that the statistical distribution law of measuring process can be established, and then implement monitoring control of the measuring process. A special method to obtain the measuring variation is discussed, and a monitoring control technique for measuring process is studied based statistical distribution. Towards the end, we briefly introduce software design for the analysis and control of a measurement process.

A dynamic relocation algorithm for non-deterministic process graph in distributed computer systems is proposed. A method is represented for determining the optimal policy for processing a process tree. A general database query request is modelled by a process tree which represent a set of subprocesses together with their precedence relationship. The process allocation model is based on operating cost which is a function fo selection of site for processing operation, data reduction function and file size. By using expected values of parameters for non-deterministic process tree, the process graph and optimal policy that yield minimum operating cost are determined. As process is relocated according to threshold value and new information of parameters after the execution of low level process for non-deterministic process graph, the assigned state that approximate to optiaml solution is obtained. The proposed algorihtm is heuristic By performing algorithm for sample problems, it is shown that the proposed algorithm is good in obtaining optimal solution.

High variance observed in the measurement system can cause high process variation that can affect process capability badly. Therefore, measurement system analysis is closely related to process capability analysis. Generally, the evaluation for measurement system and process variance is performed separately in the industry. That is, the measurement system analysis is implemented before process monitoring, process capability and process performance analysis even though these analyses are closely related. This paper presents the effective concurrent evaluation procedure for measurement system analysis and process capability analysis using the table that contains Process Performance (Pp), Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (%R&R) and Number of Distinct Categories (NDC). Furthermore, the long-term process capability index (Pp), which takes into account both gage variance and process variance, is used instead of the short-term process capability (Cp) considering only process variance. The long-term capability index can reflect well the relationship between the measurement system and process capability. The quality measurement and improvement guidelines by region scale are also described in detail. In conclusion, this research proposes the procedure that can execute the measurement system analysis and process capability analysis at the same time. The proposed procedure can contribute to reduction of the measurement staff's effort and to improvement of accurate evaluation.

The current three-stage cold farming process to produce a flange is investigated for the purpose of improvement of manufacturing process. The main goal of this study is to obtain an appropriate process sequence, which can produce the required part with less manufacturing cost. The current process sequence is simulated using finite element method and design criteria are examined. Based on the results of simulation of the current three-stage process. a design strategy for improving the process sequence is analyzed using the thick-walled pipes. Because it has a reduced process-sequence without buckling of the workpiece or overloading of tools, the new process has distinct advantages over the conventional process. Numerical results show that the newly proposed process with selected presses is the most economical way to produce the required part.

Recently, pollution problem in coastal water has become more serious and pollution including red tide serves as a main reason for reduction of fishes resources. Particularly, nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus are the most serious pollutants. Normally, biological wastewater treatment process is used in removing such nutrients. However, it is difficult to adopt the biological wastewater treatment process to a small-scale fish processing factory in case of using seawater as wash water. Thus, removing nutrients through struvite crystallization is investigated in this study for treating shrimp processing wastewater. Experiments were conducted by varying molar ratio of $Mg^{2+}:NH^4-N:PO^4-P$ from 1:1:1 to 2:1:1. It can be concluded that optimum molar ratio is 1:1:1. Struvite crystallization process is compared with chemical coagulation process using PAC and struvite crystallization process is proven as the more effective process in removing nutrients from wastewater. In view of results obtained from these experiments, struvite crystallization process is a promising method in removing nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater; however, not so good in removing organics. Thus, struvite crystallization process is suitable as the pre-treatment process in treating shrimp processing wastewater and additional biological process is needed to remove organics.

In industry, several casting process are widely used to manufacture complex and accurate blank part of hard materials such as aluminum, casting steels, bronze and magnesium alloys which are difficult to manufacture in a blank shape. Even if the casting process does not high accuracy superior surface characteristics other machining process, the casting process is widely used in manufacturing blank part. Furthermore, it is difficult to select appropriate casting process a part among several casting process. for effective selection different process, a careful decision given casting application is necessary. An appropriate casting for a given material and shape condition must be selected for novice engineers in industry. In this paper, an expert system based on an analytic network process(ANP) is suggested for best selection of casting considering a prior interdependency effect among various factors such as material, geometry, process capability, economy and equipment.

Machines and facilities are physically or chemically degenerated by continuous usage. One of the results of this degeneration is the process mean shift. By the result of degeneration, non-conforming products and malfunction of machine occur. Therefore a periodic preventive resetting the process is necessary. This type of preventive action is called 'preventive maintenance policy.' Preventive maintenance presupposes that the preventive (resetting the process) cost is smaller than the cost of failure caused by the malfunction of machine. The process mean shift problem is a field of preventive maintenance. This field deals the interrelationship between the quality cost and the process resetting cost before machine breaks down. Quality cost is the sum of the non-conforming item cost and quality loss cost. Quality loss cost is due to the deviation between the quality characteristics from the target value. Under the process mean shift, the quality cost is increasing continuously whereas the process resetting cost is constant value. The objective function is total costs per unit wear, the decision variables are the wear limit (resetting period) and the initial process mean. Comparing the previous studies, we set the process variance as an increasing concave function and set the quality loss function as Cpm+ simultaneously. In the Cpm+, loss function has different cost coefficients according to the direction of the quality characteristics from target value. A numerical example is presented.

In this paper, we introduce the conditions that the P-process has the intensity function which it is a standard form of gamma distribution. And we show that the transformed geometric Poisson process which the intensity function is a standard form of gamma distribution is a alternative sign P-process
The purpose of this study is to investigate what happens within an organization when a process view of the business is adopted. With the example of an empirical case, we aim to illustrate: how members of the organization make sense of process management; what contributions members of the organization consider to be the result of adopting a process view; and the relationship between the functional and the process structure. The empirical base in this study is one of Sweden's largest purchasing organizations within the public sector. The results are drawn from interviews with the process owners and a survey to all members involved in process teams. The case findings reveal an ambiguous image of process management. At the same time as process management solved specific organizational problems, it generated new dilemmas. It is argued that it is more rewarding to consider the adoption of the process view a 'social negotiation' rather than the result of planned implementation. The study also highlights that the meaning of process management is not anything given but something being created, and its negotiation and translation into organizational practice is open-ended. Furthermore, the study gives an illustration of the conflict between the adopted process view and the existing functional organization.

In this paper, it is investigated the properties of the transformed geometric Poisson process when the intensity function of the process is a distribution of the continuous random variable. If the intensity function of the transformed geometric Poisson process is a Pareto distribution then the transformed geometric Poisson process is a strongly P-process.
