Factors Affecting Health Worker Performance: A Management Evidence from Midwife Sharia Hospital X in Central Java Indonesia before the Covid-19 Pandemic

  • The purpose of this study was to explain the influence of motivation, leadership, and discipline on the performance of the midwife at Sharia Hospital X in Central Java Indonesia before the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a combination between quantitative research and qualitative research (mix method). The population in this study were all midwives sharia hospital x in central java Indonesia, totaling 75 people. The primary data in this study came from questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation, then from the results of the analysis and data processing the researcher interpreted it more deeply using qualitative methods. The results of this study conclude that motivation, leadership, and discipline are proven to have a positive and significant effect on the performance of midwives, thus it can be concluded that an increase in motivation, leadership, and discipline in work will be able to improve the performance of the midwifes Sharia Hospital X. These results give an understanding that every time there is an increase in motivation, leadership, and work discipline, it will increase the performance of the midwifes. Motivation is the biggest variable affecting the performance, leadership is the second and work discipline is the smallest variable that affects the performance of midwives.

  • Ever increasing demand for microwave operated applications has cultivated need for high-performance universal systems capable of working on multi-bands. This objective can be realized using Multi-Dielectrics in RF MEMS capacitive switch. In this study, we present a detailed analysis of the effect of various dielectrics on switch performance. The design consists of a capacitive switch and performance is analyzed by changing the dielectric layers beneath the switch. The results are obtained using three different dielectrics including Silicon nitride (7.6), Hafnium dioxide (25) and Titanium oxide (50). Testing of proposed switch yields high isolation (- 87.5 dB) and low insertion loss (- 0.1 dB at 50 GHz) which is substantially better than the conventional switches. The operating bandwidth of the proposed switch (DC to 95 GHz) makes it suitable for wide band microwave applications.

  • We propose a new priority discipline called the strict T-preemptive priority discipline, and derive the waiting time distributions of each class in the strict T-preemptive priority M/G/1 queue. Using this queueing analysis, we evaluate the performance of an opportunistic spectrum access in cognitive radio networks, where a communication channel is divided into time slots, a licensed primary user is assigned to one channel, and multiple unlicensed secondary users may opportunistically exploit time slots unused by the primary user. We also present a numerical example of the analysis of the opportunistic spectrum access where the arrival rates and service times distributions of each users are identical.

On the Beaux-Arts Discipline of Architectural Design in America (미국 보자르 건축의 이론과 설계방법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is a study of the Beaux-Arts discipline of architecture, as it was established during the late nineteenth century in America. It focuses on trio particular modes of vision and representation that were at the heart of the discipline. The paper argues that Beaux Arts vision was centered on what may be called 'planar vision'; a mode of seeing through which the multiple aspects of the architectural design imbedded in the plan were read and re-interpreted. Similarly Beaux-Arts training in drawing required its student to draw within the multiple layers of historical traces; the new design being in effect a new layer placed on often unseen traces of monumental precedent. The theoretical basis of this practice was not based on history but on the concept of composition. Composition, in the French tradition was regarded more a matter of practice than theory. The Anglo-American discourse on composition, on the other hand, formed a body of theoretical literature based on formalist assumptions. There was, however, a fundamental gap between these formalist theories of composition and the 'layered' modes of vision and drawing involved in the design process. This practice leaned more on the modern romantic notion of 'intuition' for its theoretical basis, once again forming an immanent conflict with the mimetic practice of classical and historical architecture. The paper draws a picture of a discipline centered on a 'theory of the plan,' a potentially modern discipline integrated with classical forms and details. It was clearly effective as a practice. However, structured by conflicts between theory and practice, history and form, mimesis and intuition, the Beaux-Arts was unable to defend itself at the philosophical and theoretical level the modernists engaged their attacks on this system. At the same time, the paper poses the question of how different modern architecture is from this system. Is not the 'theory of plan,' in its many transformations and guises, still the central discipline of twentieth century modern architecture, and is it not structured by basically the same kind of conflicts and paradox that were immanent to the Beaux-Arts system.

What Determines Work Discipline and Performance? An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • The purpose of this research is to look into the effects of organizational culture and training and development on work discipline and performance. The data for this study was directly obtained from employees of a municipal water corporation in Medan, Indonesia, with a total of 204 participants. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied for data analysis. The results showed that organizational culture and training and development positively and significantly affect performance. However, organizational culture and training & development positively affect employees' work discipline, albeit insignificantly. The findings of this study suggest that organizational culture and training and development play a critical role in shaping work discipline and performance in organizations in Indonesian settings. Therefore, the finding of this research engage all leaders in the organization to conduct training and development more intensively. Although it seems to have costly, this will have a good impact on the organization in the long run. Furthermore, the authors also suggest the creation of a solid organizational culture for every organization to foster excellent performance. However, each organization should choose its own acceptable organizational culture because it is possible that the organizational culture that works in one context does not work in another.

An Analysis of IS-Related Curriculums in Korea Based on the IS 2002 Model Curriculum (IS 2002 표준교육과정에 입각한 국내 정보시스템 관련학과의 교육과정에 대한 분석)

  • The purpose of this research is an assessment of Information Systems(IS) curriculums in Korea based on the IS 2002 model curriculum. Out of the 201 Korean universities, 60 universities have the IS discipline as a major or a department having an independent curriculum. Out of these 60 universities, 38 universities(63.4%) have the IS discipline in the business schools while the IS discipline in the rest of universities is located under the social science school and others. Information Systems as a field of academic study exists under a variety of different names. The different labels(Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Information Management, e-commerce, e-business, etc.) reflect historical development of the field, different ideas about how to characterize it, and different emphases when programs were began. The result of mapping the IS courses into the IS 2002 model curriculum supports the fact that management as a reference discipline that provides underlying theories for IS as a particular new discipline should be its academic home. Within the IS courses, information technology area is the most popular. and followed by information systems fundamentals area, information systems theory and practice area, information systems development area, and information systems deployment and management process area.

A Study on an Analysis of Core Information Literacy Competencies for Information Literacy Instruction of Undergraduate Students in Design Discipline (디자인분야 대학생의 정보문해 교육을 위한 핵심 정보문해능력 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Design discipline requires more specialized and sophisticated information literacy competencies necessary to effectively find and apply the information that students need for their teaming and the future independent designer than are outlined in general information literacy competencies. Therefore, The goals of this study is to identify specific information literacy competencies within the Design Discipline. This research analyzed design-specific core information literacy competencies through the literature analysis on the design goals & curriculum of four domestic universities and the NASAD standards & guidelines and verified those by Delphi Survey. The result showed that design discipline requires commonly 26 specific core competencies in seven broad categories and the these competencies are related to the time for information literacy Instruction. Also, The result analyzed that such majors in design as product design, visual design, need additionally more specialized and detailed competencies with specific focus and that design discipline requires commonly the information literacy competencies about general studies & fundamental ability.

  • Interior design education has been developed rapidly since the discipline established in Korea in 1980s but unfortunately the development was without any progressive transition until 1990's. When Korean Institute of Interior Design/KIID inaugurated in 1992, interior design education and related research activities began to be intensified. Despite its effort, there were still confusion about the discipline as there were many similar discipline tracks (architecture, design, fine art, & home economic, etc.) each having an own definition of interior design and introducing different aspects of educating the subject. Education program for interior design still not sufficiently supporting the needs of today's rapidly changing industry nor to prepare the diverse needs of the client. In order for interior design major to be effective in the future and fulfill the needs of current industry development within our society, re-evaluation of our current interior design educational programs in Korea is important. This study will be the beginning of a research series. As the first part of the research series, this particular study has been focused on reviewing of current status of interior design majors in the nation and its current condition. While making suggestion for the changes in curriculum, the following points will have to be considered as basic principle. First, understanding the duality of technology and design to accommodate the contents of design discipline. Second, understanding the need of practice and theory combined for practical education. And lastly, considering ways to adopt the human experience in order to develop creativity in oneself. The focus of this research is only on the interior design discipline, and research method as the following; first, analyze current status by reviewing admission data for 2010. Second, process a survey regarding the interior design education and practice-related issues in admissions and collect opinions from educators and professional designers in the field. Thirdly, with reference to previous studies, suggestions will be made for the discipline to be effective in the field. As mentioned earlier, this study series will continue and develop to suggest improvement in interior design program as well as to provide curriculums for students get ready for the industry with more up-to-date knowledges and creativities.

Analysis of Priority Systems with a Mixed Service Discipline

  • We investigate a multiclass priority system with a mixed service discipline, and propose a new approach to the analysis of performance measures (mean waiting times) of the system. Customers are preferentially served in the order of priority. The service discipline at each station is either gated or exhaustive discipline. We formulate mean waiting times as functions on the state of the system. We first consider the system at an arbitrary system state to obtain explicit formulae for the mean waiting times, and then derive their steady state values by using the property of Poisson arrivals to see time averages and the generalized Little's formula.

  • In this study, in light of the reality that the need for systematic development of military service resource management and alternative service discipline / switching service discipline has been discussed for illegal liquidation of military service obligations (Tekketsu) in connection with the military service system, and pluralistic it is assumed judgment if centralized military manpower administration (MMA) the recruitment structure that is, military service resource management that to effectively manage. It is determined that it can improve the precision, thereby increasing and the resource-specific Service Discipline instruction, fairness to ensure consistency in the resource management of Alternate Service Discipline / Switching Service Discipline among, high quality and accessibility of such people petition I thought there may be a service provider is realized, that centralization of MMA is also realized, trying to allo improved fairness associated with the performance of military service obligation. Therefore, in this study, we are exploring a scheme that is able to achieve the unification of the human resource management of military service entity to perform the duty of national defense.
