This paper proposes a new steel strip surface inspection system. The system acquires bright and dark field images of defects by using a stroboscopic IR LED light and area camera system and the defect images are preprocessed and segmented in real time for feature extraction. 4113 defect samples of cold roll steel strips are used to develop KNN (k-Nearest Neighbor) classifier which classifies the defects into 8 different types. The developed KNN classifier demonstrates about 85% classifying performance which is considered very plausible result.

This paper proposes an algorithm for recovering the colors of objects from multiple near-infrared (near-IR) images. The International Commission on Illumination (CIE) color coordinates of objects are recovered from a series of gray images captured under multiple spectral near-IR illuminations using polynomial regression. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is tested experimentally by using 24 color patches of the Color Rendition Chart. The experimental apparatus is composed of a monochrome digital camera without an IR cut-off filter and a custom-designed LED illuminator emitting multiple spectral near-IR illuminations, with peak wavelengths near the red edge of the visible band, namely at 700, 740, 780, and 860 nm. The average color difference between the original and the recovered colors for all 24 patches was found to be 11.1. However, if some particular patches with high value are disregarded, the average color difference is reduced to 4.2, and this value is within the acceptability tolerance for complex image on the display.

In this paper, we had design the module of the LED-based media transmission mechanics visible light communication system. To implement the media transmission system through visible light communication transmitter, receiver module the using high brightness, we proposed visible light communication system to implement communication distance of up to a maximum transmitter-receiver distance using a variable PD sensor to the receiver and 1~12 the LED light-emitting device to the transmitter. It was increased efficiency of approximately 20% by measuring the performance during lens wearing or not wearing on the LED module to improve the efficiency of the media transmission system.

Various oxidation states of Polyaniline(PANI) were chemically synthesized, and characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, GPC, TG-DTA, Single layer light emitting diodes(LED) were perpared by spin coating of LEB-PANI solutions which have various oxidation states onto an ITO substrate and subsequent vacuum deposition of aluminum top electrode and then current-voltage characteristics. EL spectrum was investigated It was found that ${\pi}$-${\pi}$* transition were shifled to longer wavelength and molecular excition transition were decreased in the UV-Vis spectra and the intensity of EL and PL were increased as the contents of fully reduced form LEB increased. The turn-on voltage of ITO/LEB/AI structured LED was 5 V. It was found that the white light was emitted only from the phase with reduced epeat unit.
Phototactic behavioral responses of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella ($H{\ddot{u}}bner$), adults were determined to different light-emitting diodes (LEDs) of seven wavelengths, and their behavioral responses were compared to that using a commercial luring lamp (BLB) under laboratory conditions. Based on the attractive responses under optimal light conditions (60 lx luminance intensity and 30 min light exposure time), the green LED ($520{\pm}5nm$) showed the highest attractive rate ($520{\pm}5nm$, 52.2 %), followed by the blue LED ($470{\pm}10nm$, 33.9 %), the yellow LED ($590{\pm}5nm$, 32.2 %), BLB (28.9 %), UV LED (365 nm, 22.8 %), the red LED ($625{\pm}10nm$, 14.5 %), the white LED (450-620 nm, 10.6 %), and IR LED (730 nm, 9.5 %). In addition, the green LED to P. interpunctella adults was approximately 1.81 times more attractive than BLB. These results indicate that the green LED could be most useful for monitoring of P. interpunctella adults.
In this paper, a reconfigurable peripheral unit for LED lighting communication is presented. Embedded lighting devices require various communication protocols. Usually, serial communication protocols and lighting control communication protocols such as DALI, DMX512, UART, SPI, IrDA, etc. are used in lighting devices. When the requirements of communication protocols are satisfied with separate IPs, the cost and the power consumption can considerably increase. We propose a reconfigurable communication peripheral unit which uses analysis of signal formats of the protocols. The gate count of the reconfigurable peripheral unit uses only 57% of the gate count of the separate implementation. Also, in this paper, a mapping table based DALI-ZigBee interfacing method for flexible lighting network configurations is proposed. Using this method, various DALI-ZigBee network systems can be easily set up. An LED lighting system platform is implemented to verify the operation of the DALI-ZigBee interfacing method. The reconfigurable peripheral unit and the DALI-ZigBee interfacing method can be efficiently used to implement various wired/wireless lighting communication systems.

The researches about gaze detection have been much developed with many applications. Most previous researches only rely on image processing algorithm, so they take much processing time and have many constraints. In our work, we implement it with a computer vision system setting a IR-LED based single camera. To detect the gaze position, we locate facial features, which is effectively performed with IR-LED based camera and SVM(Support Vector Machine). When a user gazes at a position of monitor, we can compute the 3D positions of those features based on 3D rotation and translation estimation and affine transform. Finally, the gaze position by the facial movements is computed from the normal vector of the plane determined by those computed 3D positions of features. In addition, we use a trained neural network to detect the gaze position by eye's movement. As experimental results, we can obtain the facial and eye gaze position on a monitor and the gaze position accuracy between the computed positions and the real ones is about 4.2 cm of RMS error.

Seaweed(Laver), Korea's largest export product, is currently focused on mass production due to the market situation in Korea. This naturally led to a decrease in the quality of seaweed. Therefore, in this paper, the present method was produced and tested by changing the way of adjusting the ratio of seaweed mixing, which was dependent on the user's sense and experience in the production of seaweed. In addition, I developed an embedded measurement system that can determine the concentration of a mixture of gold in real time based on primary image information obtained through an IR LED lamp that generates a light source and a photo sensor that detects concentration. By collecting and storing precise data in real time, it is easier to cope with the previous year's data in a work environment that is repeated every winter.

The electrical leakage levels of GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) containing leakage paths are estimated using photoluminescence (PL) and photovoltaic properties under photoexcitation conditions. The PL intensity and open-circuit voltage (VOC) decrease because of carrier leakages depending on photoexcitation conditions when compared with reference values for typical LED chips without leakage paths. Changes of photovoltage-photocurrent characteristics and PL intensity due to carrier leakage are employed to assess the leakage current levels of LEDs with leakage paths. The current corresponding to the reduced VOC of an LED with leakage from the photovoltaic curve of a reference LED without leakage is matched with the leakage current calculated using the PL intensity reduction ratio and short-circuit current of the LED with leakage. The current needed to increase the voltage for an LED with a leakage under photoexcitation from VOC of the LED up to VOC of a reference LED without a leakage is identical to the additional current needed for optical turn-on of the LED with a leakage. The leakage current level estimated using the PL and photovoltaic properties under photoexcitation is consistent with the leakage level measured from the voltage-current characteristic obtained under current injection conditions.

This paper is implemented simple visible light communication system by combining the communications through LED lighting. It uses a variable PD sensor to the receiver and 1~12 the LED light-emitting device to the transmitter to realize LED visible light communication. Initial distance value of the developed transmission and receiver is more than 0~1.5m for LED visible light communication, the overall system transmission rate is organized with thousands kbps variability visible light media transmission system. It was measured the performance experiment during lens wearing or not wearing in order to increase the overall efficiency of the LED module, configures the LED and PD to existing PC module for the performance analysis of the implemented research, experiments the maximum communication distance of the transmitter/receiver according to LED count and the transmission rate, check about application methods and the possibility.
