The multimedia streaming service in NGN architecture is not only to deliver video streaming (VoD, Broadcasting TV, etc.) but also to provide new services and service bundles, such as Triple Play (IPTV + VoIP + Internet). Among these services, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is becoming a convergence of communication, content, computing, as well as an integration of broadcasting and telecommunication services. In this paper, we addresses enhanced IPTV management scheme aspect of E2E from Home Network to Head End Center over NGN to support efficient service management with a full quality of service (QoS) guarantee.

Recently, request of IPTV was increase. It is a multi-screen service by used TV, PC, and smart-phones. Especially, IPTV and smart-phone linked multi-screen service are very growth by user's recommends. Now, IPTV have a security service partial and multi-screen service. But smart-phone and multi-screen service don't have security service. And authentication service for smart-phone and IPTV linked multi-screen service is don't.. Therefore, We propose that user authentication system for multi-screen service with IPTV and multi-device linked authentcation services. Our proposed system base on Kerberos, so proposal is easy and fast about user authentication. This have simple procedures and more secure services against of PKI. So, our system can support secure multi-screen services against various security threats in multi-screen environments.

The broadband access network is a worldwide trend and the related IPTV service is booming. However, the IPTV deployment has been delayed in Korea because of the business relationship between the communication and broadcasting area and the lack of the related laws. As a means to the development of FTTH-based high-quality service platform and next-generation equipment, ETRI has been building own FTTH service center with a network operation center and IPTV service equipments, also connecting it with commercial FTTH infrastructures made by network operators. In this paper, we describe the related technologies about FTTH-based IPTV testbed.

IPTV has risen as a new driving force amid concerns against the saturated internet market and gained enormous attention of both the government and industry as niche market. Especially, IPTV banking which is one of the major services, IPTV has risen up recently as another financial service channel. Prior to the expansion of the new technology, this study attempts to predict its success possibility. In order to grasp variables that would effect formation of user intention of potential adopters, and external variables that influence user intention of IPTV banking have been confirmed and studied empirically based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). As a result, it was validated that self?efficacy, facilitating condition, social influence, and perceived importance to TV banking needs are the influential variables. Therefore, one may able to find appropriate direction of marketing activities for effective expansion of IPTV banking service through this study. Also, considering the fact that the number of service users has absolute influence over profit determination in the IPTV banking service industry, the study about characteristics and intention of such potential adopters could certainly be significant.

Recently IPTV service is becoming an emerging service representing IP convergence that is enabled on the broadband networks. It is an essential and very important issue to manage the service quality of IPTV service effectively for its successful deployment because of the innate nature of current Internet that cannot support quality of service (QoS). In particular, it is required that subscriber can measure and judge the service quality of IPTV service directly, which is impossible with the current method usually depending on a measurement equipment. In this paper, therefore, we introduce an implementation of a software that is installed at a set-top on the subscriber side and measures the quality of IPTV service in real time. In order to verify the performance of the implemented software, we perform a number of tests and compare the result with the measurement equipments in common use. By the comparison, it is shown that the measurement by the implemented software is precise and reliable.

The fusion stream of recent broadcasting and communication make multimedia content served in the area of broadcasting into IPTV service which transmits it through high-speed internet, cable TV net and satellite net in realtime. However, as the digital broadcasting service is extended to various media, the security of IPTV service content provided to users by service provider is not fully supported by CAS(Conditional Access System) provided by existing broadcasting system. This paper proposes interactive certification protocol which can efficiently distinguish the receiving-qualification of user between Set-Top Box and Smart Card which are parts of configurations for IPTV system. The proposed protocol uses hash function to make Set-Top Box transmit receiving-qualification about the channel fee which user pays more properly than existing protocol. Also, the proposed protocol uses session key generated between receiver and smart card through inter certification process and encrypts EMM not the service to be used by anyone illegally.

Since the specifications of public services in broadcasting-telecommunication convergence environment are not standardized, the public services should be developed and presented by each IPTV service provider, and therefore it is worried that public organizations and IPTV service providers may invest in the public services redundantly, which are managed inefficiently. To resolve those problem, in this paper, the service and network interfaces among multiple public organizations and multiple IPTV service providers and the interactive VOD-type public service providing system of one source multi-use based on ACAP-J are proposed. The proposed system can be utilized in the standard platform of the evolved new public services. And the used technologies can be utilized as a guide for the development of new services.

This paper studied the relationship between the quality of perceived service and the consumer satisfaction on IPTV which is on the increase in the number of subscribers as the representative of a convergence service of the communication and broadcasting. Using the measurement tools of five factors such as the perceived service quality, the accommodation of information techniques, the consumer satisfaction, the intention of continuous use and the users' intention to recommend to others, the empirical study on IPTV users was taken. The results showed that the perceived serviced service quality, usefulness and easy access to IPTV have strong effects on the use and the users, intention to recommend to others.

The home network has been revitalized due to the emergence of the high-speed broadband network and explosive increases of the home network services. Especially multicast based high-definition (HD) IPTV service is on high demand from both Internet service provider (ISP) and users. In order to provide high quality HD IPTV service without packet loss and delay, the ISP utilizes various network QoS mechanisms. Due to the misleading fact, that the home gateway is considered as an end terminal in terms of the ISP's viewpoint, the ISPs can not guarantee the end-to-end QoS within the scope of the current home network architecture. Therefore, an independent QoS guaranteed mechanism should be considered within the home network domain. As the home gateway manages both private home and public access network within the home network, we propose and implement a novel QoS mechanism for the multicast based HD IPTV service over the home gateway. In order to provide QoS guaranteed HD IPTV service, the proposed mechanism classifies the packets, manages home network bandwidth resources, and executes call admission control using the channel join message. Also, we utilize layer 2 multicast packet forwarding scheme to improve the overall performance of the home network services. Through the experiments of implementing the multicast based HD IPTV services, we will verify the efficiency of the proposed mechanism.

Feature of current IPTV services is that the IPTV Provider buys the rights of contents from contents author and provides consumers monopolistically with those. In this environment, IPTV is indistinguishable from the way of existing broadcasting services. To shift away from this structure, it is necessary to guarantee the common user's participation and provide the Open IPTV services for customers to be allowed to have be defined for more opportunities to select the contents. However, there are some problems to conduct Open IPTV service due to a variety of rights protection solutions designed by previous digital broadcast providers. Therefore, a new framework is needed to overall Open IPTV environment. This paper provides the design can packaging contents authoring and consuming tool for IPTV application service based on Open IPTV.
