Multiple CAS (Conditional Access System) could be safely downloaded and implemented in IPTV environment. Domestic standard of iCAS (Interchangeable CAS) which is providing device compatibility and mobility, can only defines CAS replacement for protecting Real-Time Streaming broadcast. CAS, however has limitations in IPTV's two-way communication environment where it needs to fulfill contents protection requirements of various broadcasting service. In order to supplement the limit of CAS, DRM protection technology should be required. Contents for real time broadcasting service or real time VOD service could be protected by CAS technology whereas services such as PVR, download VOD service or downloaded contents sharing could be protected by DRM technology. Therefore, a flexible IPTV device service environment could be constructed by mutual protection of CAS and DRM. This essay is going to research on the method of applying DRM based on iCAS standard, as well as proposing a system configuration applied with iCAS/DRM in commercialization.

Recent IPTV services still remain as simple broadcasting services that cannot make the most of interactive features together with various content-associated data. So, IPTV providers are making efforts to break from monopolistic style, so as increasing the user's participation m service. However there is an interoperability problem because no common solution is employed across different providers. To solve this problem, there needs to be a framework for a framework for generating, sharing and distributing package contents. In this paper, we propose user-centered package contents application framework for interactive IPTV services. We also design a package content authoring and consuming system which plays core parts in the proposed framework.

Currently broadcasting and telecommunication has integrated, And IPTV Service has appeared who called TPS(Triple Play Service) which integrated with broadcasting, telecommunication and Phone Service. IPTV provide broadcasting service and VOD(Video on Demand) service, and it must be satisfied digital content security. For this condition, IPTV Forum working on standardization of interface for digital content security. The Security solution for broadcasting and VOD are CAS(Conditional Access System) and DRM(Digital Rights Management). But these solutions manufactured by many vendors, so there is no inter-operablity. And after finished standardization of interface for CAS and DRM system, the problem of inter-operability with them will be issued. For this reason, Rights management system which possible to operate independently with platform is necessary. In this paper, To protect multimedia digital content, we designed and implemented Conditional Access Management System.

협회는 7월5일 IPTV 서비스의 조속한 도입과 아울러 합리적인 제도 마련을 촉구하는 관련업체의 의견을 담은 건의서를 국회 방송통신특별위원회에 전달했다. 또한 국무조정실 방송통신 융합지원단과 정보통신부 융합전략팀에도 전달했다. 협회는 건의서에서, 이해 관계자들의 소모적인 논쟁이 결과적으로 IPTV 서비스 도입정책 지연과 더불어 관련 산업 활성화를 가로막아 산업계의 첨단기술 및 제품들이 사장될 위기에 있으며 국가적으로도 막대한 손실로 이어질 수 있다며 IPTV 서비스의 조속한 도입을 촉구했다. 특히, 협회는 국가 100년 대계를 생각해 더 이상 소모적인 논쟁을 종식하고 국가 신성장 동력인 IPTV 상용화를 통해 IT강국의 위상을 제고해야 하며, 이를 위해 정부의 신속한 제도마련과 뉴미디어에 걸맞은 규제제도 완화가 병행돼야 한다고 주장했다.

최근 디지털화의 가속 및 통신 인프라의 확충 등으로 인해 IP 네트워크로 연결되어 영상 및 음성 정보를 서로 공유할 수 있는 환경이 제공되고 통합 서비스에 대한 수요가 증가하면서 Mobile IPTV 서비스가 새로운 서비스 모델로 각광받고 있다. 그러나 IPTV에서 발생하는 보안위협 외에 무선 네트워크에서 발생할 수 있는 보안위협을 안고 있다. 또한 Mobile IPTV의 특성상 이동이 잦아 기존의 보안 기술로는 QoS 및 QoE를 제공하기에는 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Mobile IPTV 환경에서 빠른 로밍 서비스를 위한 키 관리 프로토콜을 제안하여 안전성 및 효율성을 제공하고자 한다.

With the advent of IP-based multimedia service based on IP network, there is a rapidly increasing demand for IPTV. Unlike the previous coaxial cable based TV, IPTV provides a variety of convergence services based on IP newark. However, since the IPTV service quality is a lot affected by the network degradation such as packet loss and jitter, it may not be guaranteed. In this paper, we propose an objective measure for various degradations of IPTV-based videos considering subjective assessment. To this end, we first determine QoE(Quality of Experience) indicators, which can affect human visual perception. Then we develop the video quality metric for each QoE indicator. Subjective assessment based on MOS is conducted and used to construct mapping relationship between each measure and perceived visual quality. Experiments are performed on various videos to confirm the efficiency and robustness of the proposed method and show high correlation with subjective assessment.

During the last decade, Internet protocol television(IPTV), broadcasting of multimedia services using well understood Internet technologies, is a fast spreading technology for distributing multimedia content to consumers. As IPTV services advance, an increasing user demand and tremendous content volume of multimedia content cause some difficulties in network resource management. In this paper, we propose an improved load balancing algorithm for video-on-demand(VoD) service. Unlike existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm considers user's behaviors for VoD service, and determines the most efficient allocation of VoD requests by estimating expected server load and expected user waiting time.

This paper proposes the number of Optical Network Unit (ONU) based priority scheduling mechanism over Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) to support multicast Quality of Service (QoS) for Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service. Multicast QoS is effected by the receivers' number of a packet because multicast efficiency is determined by how many receivers are received multiple copied packets. Therefore, the proposed mechanism assigns a priority with the number of ONUs to allocate high priority to IPTV services used by many people and firstly transmits a packet with high priority. By doing so, we show that the proposed mechanism support favorite IPTV services with better and stable QoS in spite of congestion.

The purpose of this study is to examine diverse factors influencing the adoption of IPTV services and relationships among them. To achieve the purpose, this study modified and applied the established theory of the Extended Technology Acceptance Model(ETAM) incorporating socio-cultural factor, flow experience and perceived behavioral control as related constructs. The suggested model was empirically tested through the structural equation modeling approach. The results are as follows: First, the socio-cultural factor and the perceived behavioral control have significant direct influences on the adoption of IPTV services. Second, the flow experience does not have a significant indirect influence mediated by the attitude toward IPTV services. Third, the socio-cultural factor has the significant relationships with the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use. Finally, the flow experience was influenced by the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use.

최근에 광대역망을 기반으로 방송서비스를 포함하여 통방융합 서비스를 제공하는 IPTV 서비스에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. IPTV 서비스에 있어서 기존의 방송채널들은 킬러 애플리케이션의 하나로써 재사용되어지며 이를 위한 IPTV 미들웨어 구조에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 특히 대부분의 상용 서비스는 기존의 방송서비스에서 사용되고 있는 기술을 수정없이 사용하고자 하는 이유로 인하여 IP 환경에 비효율적인 구조를 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 방송채널을 재전송함에 있어 IP 환경에 최적화 될 수 있는 기술을 제안하고자 한다.
