  • As the demand for ubiquitous mobile wireless Internet grows, vehicles are receiving a lot of attention as new networking platforms. The demand for 4G all-IP networks encourages vehicle networks to be connected using IPv6. By means of network mobility (NEMO) support, we can connect sensors, controllers, local ,servers as well as passengers' devices of a vehicle to the Internet through a mobile router. The mobile router provides the connectivity to the Internet and mobility transparency for the rest of the mobile nodes of an in-vehicle nv6 network. So, it is .important for the mobile router to assure reliable connection and a sufficient data rate for the group of nodes behind it. To provide reliability, this paper proposes an adaptive multihoming architecture of multiple mobile routers. Proposed architecture makes use of different mobility characteristics of different vehicles. Simulation results with different configurations show that the proposed architecture increases session preservation thus increases reliability and reduces packet loss. We also show that the proposed architecture is adaptive to heterogeneous access environment which provide different access coverage areas and data rates. The result shows that our architecture achieves sufficient data rates as well as session preservation.

  • NEMO (Network Mobility) introduces the concept of mobile router in order to supply users with group mobility over wireless and mobile networks. This paper investigates the advantages and disadvantages of NEMO in terms of the overhead of group mobility management. This paper proposes the additional requirements to enhance NEMO performance. Moreover, we analyze the main communication paths, CN-HA, HA-MR, and MR-MNN, in the real NEMO testbed.

  • One of the important design issues for IP routers responsible for packet forwarding in computer networks is the route-lookup mechanism. For each incoming packet, IP routing requires that a router performs a longest-prefix-match address lookup in order to determine the next hop that the incoming packet should be forwarded to. In this paper, we present a new scheme which applies the hashing function for IP address lookup. In the proposed scheme, the forwarding table is composed of multiple SRAMs, and each SRAM represents an address lookup table in each prefix. Hashing function is applied in order to find out the matching entries from the address lookup tables in parallel, and the entry with the longest prefix match among them is selected. Simulation using the MAE-WEST router example shows that a large routing table with 37000 entries can be compacted to a forwarding table of 300 Kbytes in the proposed scheme. It is also shown that the proposed scheme achieves one route lookup every 1.93 memory accesses in average.

  • Distributed Denial-of-Service(DDoS) attack prevent users from accessing services on the target network by spoofing its origin source address with a large volume of traffic. The objective of IP Traceback is to determine the real attack sources, as well as the full path taken by the attack packets. Existing IP Traceback methods can be categorized as proactive or reactive tracing. Existing proactive tracing scheme(such as packet marking and messaging) prepares information for tracing when packets are in transit. But, these scheme require additional network overhead. In this paper, we propose a "advanced Traceback" mechanism, which is based on the modified Pushback system with secure router mechanism. Proposed mechanism can detect and control DDoS traffic on router and can generate marked packet for reconstructing origin DDoS attack source, by which we can diminish network overload and enhance Traceback performance.

  • Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a high performance method for forwarding packets (frames) through a network. It enables routers at the edge of a network to apply simple labels to packets (frames). we use MPLS in the core network for internet. MPLS provide high speed switching and traffic engineering in MPLS domain but at the Label Edge Router(LER) there is frequently cell discarding via congestion and buffer management method. It is one of the most important reasons retransmission and congestion. In this paper we propose advanced LER scheme that provide less cell loss rate also efficient network infrastructure.

  • As today's network infrastructure continues to grow and DiffServ IP networks ate now available to provide various levels of flexible QoS services. DiffServ guarantees good scalability but shows dynamic QoS dependent on network traffic loads. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the dynamics of DiffSev QoS and present analytical model to estimate the allowable traffic load under the given network conditions.

  • An ACL(: Access List), a list that determines network access, is used for the security of the network. An ACL if applied to a interface of router can filter particular packets. Also it can block or allow the access of certain unauthorized IPs or ports, based on the source address, destination address, and TCP/UDP port. This paper presents a simulation case to verify the effect of a router-based network applying Standard ACL or Extended ACL. The network was created through designing topology and then making a common virtual network using a Packet Tracer.

  • Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP) is the Internet standard protocol for transport of real time data audio/video IP Telephony, Multimedia Seivece. In case of 8kbps voice codec, the size of packet per data is 20bytes and become more large to minimal 40bytes with adding each layer's header in RTP/UDP/IP. To solve this problem, various header compression skill were suggested on point-to-point networks. But it compress even IP header and cannot be suitable to apply to end-to-end network Thus, We will renew header compression protocol to apply wired router-based network.

  • Group oriented multicast service is a prerequisite for the current application system for remote lecture and customer service. IP multicast is used to be generally accepted as an internet standard. IP multicast which is designed to support network based replication model can efficiently use host and network resource, however it has some weak points that it has to support IP multicast in the internet by adding multicast-capable internet infrastructure such as router and is vulnerable to security by using public IP address for group identifier. Therefore we propose the trigger based application level multicast model that can enhance both scalability and security by separating the functions, which send and receive message to solve these problems. Our suggested model is expected to ensure the promotion of quality of service and reliability.

  • In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of IPv6 LAN. The legacy protocol for Internet is IPv4(IP version 4). The ability of IPv4 is not enough for modern real time multimedia communication services. So IPv6(IP version 6) protocol was suggested to resolve the problems of IPv4. We implemented IPv6 LAN using sTLA(sub Top Level Aggregation identifier) address and KOREN(KOrea Research and Experimental Network). Our IPv6 LAN is connected with 6TAP(Chicago), WIDE(Tokyo), and SingAREN(Singapore). We used a dedicated router, Windows 2000 PC host FreeBSD PC host, Solaris 7 workstation and Solaris 8 workstation for IPv6 NDP(Neighbor Discovery Protocol) protocol test. To support all data services including voice and video, IP protocol should be enhanced because the characteristics of modern network services are requiring QoS(Quality of Service) functions, auto-configuration, security, mobility and so on. So a new IP protocol, IPv6, has been developing to meet the requirements. In this paper, we introduce the implementation method and configuration information of IPv6 LAN.
