  • In this paper we have presented the results of diffusion behavior of model systems for eight liquid n-alkanes ($C_{12}$-$C_{44}$) in a canonical (NVT) ensemble at several temperatures using molecular dynamics simulations. For these n-alkanes of small chain length n, the chains are clearly <$R_{ee}^2$>/6<$R_g^2$>>1 and non-Gaussian. This result implies that the liquid n-alkanes over the whole temperatures considered are far away from the Rouse regime, though the ratio becomes close to the unity as n increases. Calculated self-diffusion constants $D_{self}$ are comparable with experimental results and the Arrhenius plot of self-diffusion constants versus inverse temperature shows a different temperature dependence of diffusion on the chain length. The global rotational motion of n-alkanes is examined by characterizing the orientation relaxation of the end-to-end vector and it is found that the ratio ${\tau}1/{\tau}2$ is less than 3, the value expected for a isotropically diffusive rotational process. The friction constants ${\xi}$of the whole molecules of n-alkanes are calculated directly from the force auto-correlation (FAC) functions and compared with the monomeric friction constants ${\xi}_D$ extracted from $D_{self}$. Both the friction constants give a correct qualitative trends: decrease with increasing temperature and increase with increasing chain length. The friction constant calculated from the FAC's decreases very slowly with increasing temperature, while the monomeric friction constant varies rapidly with temperature. By considering the orientation relaxation of local vectors and diffusion of each site, it is found that rotational and translational diffusions of the ends are faster than those of the center.

  • This paper is regarding the helicopter flight control law design for the handling quality performance. MIL-F-83300 and ADS-33E specification is used of the helicopter flight handling quality and to meet these requirements, ACAH type controller is required. This paper described the ACAH type controller design and performance evaluations. Helicopter dynamics first developed as nonlinear dynamics including rotor dynamics and then linear model was extracted from hovering to forward flight mode using trim condition. Control law used the model following to meet the handling qualities, the simple inverse model as feed forward gain, decoupling logic and phase model to decouple the axes, and linear model to calculate the coefficients. Handling quality evaluation used the matlab based Conduit tool and verified that Level 1 requirement is satisfied.

  • Complex permittivity spectra of Allyl Chloride (AC), 2-Butanone (2-BU) and their binary mixtures over the entire range of concentration were obtained using the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technique in microwave frequency range at various temperatures. Static dielectric constant and relaxation time are obtained from complex permittivity spectra. Density ($\rho$) and refractive index ($n_D$) are also measured. These parameters are used to determine excess dielectric constant, excess inverse relaxation time, excess molar volume, excess molar refraction, polarity, Bruggeman factor and thermodynamic parameters viz. enthalpy of activation and entropy of activation. The values of static dielectric constant and relaxation time increases while density and refractive index decreases with the percentage of 2-Butanone in Allyl Chloride increases. Excess parameters were fitted to a Redlich-Kister equation.

  • This paper describes interactive dynamic simulation schemes for articulated bodies in virtual environments, where user interaction is allowed through a haptic interface. We incorporated these schemes into our dynamic simulator I-GMS, which was developed in an object-oriented framework for simulating motions of free bodies and complex linkages, such as those needed for robotic systems or human body simulation. User interaction is achieved by performing push and pull operations with the PHANToM haptic device, which runs as an integrated part of I-GMS. We use both forward and inverse dynamics of articulated bodies for the haptic interaction by the push and pull operations, respectively. We demonstrate the user-interaction capability of I-GMS through on-line editing of trajectories for 6-dof (degrees of freedom) articulated bodies.

  • In this paper, an adaptive predistortion scheme is proposed to compensate nonlinear distortions caused by high power amplifiers (HPA) in OFDM systems. A complex Wiener-Hammerstein model (WHM) is used to describe input-output relationship of HPA with linear dynamics. The predistorter is directly identified by complex power series model with memory, which is an approximate inverse of the HPA expressed by the WHM. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive compensation scheme is validated by numerical simulation for 64QAM-OFDM systems.

  • For the linearized differential algebraic equation of the nonlinear constrained system, exact initial values of the acceleration are needed to solve itself. It may be very troublesome to perform the inverse operation for obtaining the incremental quantities since the mass matrix contains the zero element in the diagonal. This fact makes the mass matrix impossible to be positive definite. To overcome this singularity phenomenon the mass matrix needs to be modified to allow the feasible application of predictor and corrector in the iterative computation. In this paper the proposed numerical algorithm based on the modified mass matrix combines the conventional implicit algorithm, Newton-Raphson method and Newmark method. The numerical example presents reliabilities for the proposed algorithm via comparisons of the 4th order Runge-kutta method. The proposed algorithm seems to be satisfactory even though the acceleration, Lagrange multiplier, and energy show unstable behaviour. Correspondingly, it provides one important clue to another algorithm for the enhancement of the numerical results.

  • This paper proposes the controller for biped robot using intelligent control algorithm. The main purpose of this paper is to design the robot controller using Hierarchical Mixture of Experts(HME). The neural network direct control method will be applied to the control scheme for the biped robot and neural network will learn the dynamics of biped robot. The teaming scheme using a intelligent controller to biped robot is developed. The teaming scheme uses a HME controller combined with a inverse biped robot model. The controller provides the control signals at each control time instant. Simulation results are reported for a seven-link biped robot.

  • A method of reducing overhead caused by the processor synchronization process and common memory accesses in finely grained tasks is described. We propose a scheduler which considers the preparation time during searching to minimize the redundant accesses to shared memory. Since the suggested hardware (synchronizer) determines the access order of processors and bus arbitration simultaneously by including the synchronization process into the bus arbitration process, the synchronization time vanishes. Therefore this synchronizer has no overhead caused by the processor synchronization[l]. The proposed scheduler algorithm is processed in parallel. The processes share the upper bound derived by each searching and the lower bound function is built considering the preparation time in order to eliminate as many searches as possible. An application of the proposed method to a multi-DSP system to calculate inverse dynamics for robot arms, showed that the sampling time can be twice shorter than that of the conventional one.

  • The analysis of dynamic forces is essential to the design of systems, stress analysis, or life prediction of part of machine. Calculation of dynamic forces has very close relations with multibody dynamics algorithm. In this paper, an algorithm which calculates joint reaction force/moment of flexible multibody dynamic systems is proposed by using inverse dynamic algorithm and velocity transformation technique.

  • In this paper are presented kinematic and dynamic modeling and path-tracking of fourwhelled mobile robot with 2 d.o.f. having the limited drivetorques. Controllability of wheeled-mobile robot is revealed by using the kinematic model. Instantaneously coincident coordinate cystem, force/torques generated by inverse dynamics exceed the limitation, we make wheeled-mobile robot follow the reference path by modifying the planned reference trajectory with time-scaling. The controller is introduced to compensate for error owing to modeling uncertainty and measurement noise. And simulation results prove that method proposed by this paper is efficient.
