Objective: This study examined the change of informal labeling self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents over time and relationship between the intercept and the growth of the variables. Method: 4-year longitudinal panel data(n=2,699), Korea Youth Panel Survey (KYPS), were analyzed to verify the influence of informal labeling on self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents. Through latent growth modeling, temporal change of the variables was examined. Results: Analytic results are as follow. First, the initial status of informal labeling had a negative impact on the initial status of self-respect. The slope of informal labeling also had a negative impact on the slope of self-respect. In contrast, the initial status of informal labeling did not have an significant impact on the slope of self-respect. Second, the initial status of informal labeling had a positive impact on the initial status of aggression. The slope of informal labeling had a negative impact on the slope of aggression. In contrast, the initial status of informal labeling did not have an significant impact on the slope of aggression. Third, the initial status of informal labeling had a positive impact on the initial status of depression/anxiety and a negative impact on the slope of depression/anxiety. The slope of informal labeling had a positive impact on the slope of self-respect. Conclusions: The results suggest the importance of informal labeling on self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents.

In this study, the small-scale collision experiments using a pendulum principle were carried out to evaluate the safety of the reinforced concrete building selected as a tsunami evacuation building due to the collision of the waterborne debris represented by ships. The experimental parameters were set as impact velocity, mass and length of the drifted ship. In this paper, the maximum impact force, impact duration, impact waveform and restitution coefficient affecting building response were investigated in detail. As a result, the impact force waveforms were distributed as a triangle in most of the experimental results, but became closer to a trapezoid as the length of the collision specimen increased. This is the very important result in calculating the momentum (impact waveform area) affecting building response, Furthermore, the restitution coefficients were constant regardless of the impact velocity, but they varied depending on the mass and length of the waterborne debris. However, the restitution coefficient for the mass per unit length of the waterborne debris can be evaluated.
The mechanical properties of polymeric composites are degraded under elevated temperatures due to the effect of temperature on the mechanical behavior of the resin and resin fiber interfaces. In this study, the effect of temperature on the impact response of the carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) was investigated at low-velocity impact (LVI) using a drop-weight impact tester machine. All the composite plates were fabricated using a vacuum infusion process with a stacking sequence of [45/0_2/-45/90_2]s, and a thickness of 2.9 mm. A group of the specimens was exposed to an environment with a temperature cycling at the range of -30 ℃ to 65 ℃. In addition, three other groups of the specimens were aged at ambient (28 ℃), -30 ℃, and 65 ℃ for ten days. Then all the conditioned specimens were subjected to LVI at three energy levels of 10, 15, and 20 J. To assess the behavior of the damaged composite plates, the force-time, force-displacement, and energy-time diagrams were analyzed at all temperatures. Finally, radiography, optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to evaluate the effect of the temperature and damages at various impact levels. Based on the results, different energy levels have a similar effect on the LVI behavior of the samples at various temperatures. Delamination, matrix cracking, and fiber failure were the main damage modes. Compared to the samples tested at room temperature, the reduction of temperature to -30 ℃ enhanced the maximum impact force and flexural stiffness while decreasing the absorbed energy and the failure surface area. The temperature increasing to 65 ℃ increased the maximum impact force and flexural stiffness while decreasing the absorbed energy and the failure surface area. Applying 200 thermal cycles at the range of -30 ℃ to 65 ℃ led to the formation of fine cracks in the matrix while decreasing the absorbed energy. The maximum contact force is recorded under cyclic temperature as 5.95, 6.51 and 7.14 kN, under impact energy of 10, 15 and 20 J, respectively. As well as, the minimum contact force belongs to the room temperature condition and is reported as 3.93, 4.94 and 5.71 kN, under impact energy of 10, 15 and 20 J, respectively.
This study was performed to make a comparison on low-velocity impact behavior between graphite/epoxy composite laminate and steel plate. In order to validate the proposed scheme fur the impact behavior of the plate, the Karas's impact model was used. The impact models for this comparative study are the graphite/epoxy composite plate having $[0/90/45/-45/-45/45/90/0]_{8S}$ laminate sequence and the steel plate with a steel ball impactor. The low-velocity impact behaviors for two types of plates were comparatively investigated and performed by considering different impactor velocities and weights respectively. In this investigation, it was found that the composite laminate has impact energy absorption effect due to more flexible behavior than the steel plate, and also it has better characteristics on impact damage and weight.

One of the objectives to prevent building pounding between two adjacentstructures is to considerseparation distance or decrease relative displacement during seismic excitation. Although the majority of building codes around the world have basically suggested some equations or approximately recommended various distances between structuresto avoid pounding hazard, but a lot of reportsin zone of pounding have obviously shown thatsafety situation or economic consideration are not always provided due to the collisions between buildings and the cost of land, respectively. For this purpose, a dynamic MDOF model by having base isolation system is numerically considered and using various earthquake records, relative displacements are mathematically investigated. Different equations to determine the value of damping ratio are collected and the results of evaluations are listed for comparison among them to present a new equation for determination of impact damping ratio. Presented equation is depends significantly on impact velocity before and after impact based on artificial neural network, which the accuracy of them is investigated and also confirmed. In order to select the optimum equation, hysteresisloop of impact between base of building and rubber bumper is considered and compared with the hysteresis loop of each impact, calculated by different equations. Finally, using representative equation, the effect of thickness, number and stiffness of rubber bumpers are numerically investigated. The results of analysis indicate that stiffness and number of bumpers have significantly affected in zone of impact force while the thickness of bumpers have not shown significant influence to calculate impact force during earthquake. For instance, increasing the number of bumpers, gap size between structures and also the value of stiffness is caused to decrease impact force between models. The final evaluation demonstrates that bumpers are able to decrease peak lateral displacement of top story during impact.

This study investigated the status and problems of marine-related environmental impact assessment and a utilization-consultation system in Korea and suggested improvement of the review organization. Also, it conducted SWOT analysis based on evaluation of functions, roles and performance of the marine environmental impact assessment center and proposed development strategies of the center through introduction of expert opinions and advanced systems. The performance statement-review by the center in 2007 included 358 cases in total; 165 (46.1%) for consultation on utilization of sea area, 104 for environmental impact assessment (29.0%), and 89 (24.9%) for prior environmental review. The consultation on utilization of sea area can be divided into that for public water surface-use (41%) and reclamation (32%), and sea aggregate extraction process (21%). Although bad impacts on marine environment are reducing under the current system, there are some limits and problems to supplement it in terms of content, system and operation. Review system on sea area utilization-impact(marine environmental impact assessment center) by marine environmental management law needs to obtain expertise, fairness and efficiency and, to do so, have operational supports and institutional improvement to maximize its own functions and roles. At the same time, it is necessary for the center to establish identity and the status as a professional review organization by setting active development strategies inside the center. Finally, it should strengthen an consultation system of marine environmental impact assessment led by the related ministry to achieve effective coastal management.
In this paper, The concept of a wheel with carbon fiber composite is to replace the conventional material used for a wheel hub, such as plastic, with a disk-type hub made of carbon fabric and epoxy resin. The impact load from the ground under real conditions was considered; a low-velocity impact test was conducted to evaluate the impact performance of the carbon wheel and compare it with that of a conventional plastic wheel. This study applied a 70 J impact load as a test condition. The impact energy was controlled in the test by adjustment of height and weight of impactor. The use of a carbon disk wheel hub was confirmed to reduce weight and generate an excellent repulsive force at low energy under conditions similar to real driving conditions. The results showed that the maximum load increased proportionally depending on the impact load, but the growth of the maximum load was reduced at a 20 J impact load and tended to decrease at a 45 J impact load. The carbon wheel showed excellent properties ; the level of rebounding was 35.3% and 19.1% of the total impact energy at impact loads of 5 J and 10 J, respectively. On the other hand, the carbon disk wheel rebounded less than 5% of the total energy due to crack generation of the thin carbon hub for impact loads of more than 20 J.

This study evaluated the direct and indirect environmental impacts of various unit operations of a industrial waste incineration plant by using the life cycle assessment tool and reviewed the improvement plan. During the incineration process, the direct environmental impact was decreased with decrease in emission of various air pollutants by incorporating an air pollution prevention facilities. However, an increase in indirect environmental impacts was observed as a consequence of resources and energy of consumption at the various operational facilities. Consequently, quantitative direct and indirect impact were 89.1%, 10.9%, respectively. The environmental impact analysis of system revealed the highest impact of incineration followed by the impacts of other unit processes such as semidry reactor, and bag-filter. The various air pollutants and ashes generated during the incineration process caused the most significant environmental impact. Among the various categories of environmental impact, global warming accounted the highest impact(more than 85%) followed by eutrophication, and abiotic depletion. As a result of the avoided impact by the utilization of heat generated during the waste incineration process, using an incineration heat for steam and electricity obtained the impact reduction of 45.5%, 19.8%. So, during siting of new incineration plant, the utilization of steam generated from the waste combustion is highly considered to reduce the environmental impact.
The need for improvement is raised due to limitations with environmental impact assessment, and the importance for data-based environmental impact assessment is increasing. In this study, data demand was derived by analyzing Agreed Terms and Conditions in the Water Environment field (Water Quality, Hydraulic & Hydrologic Conditions, and Marine Environment) of environmental impact assessment. Agreed Terms and Conditions on environmental impact assessment in the water environment field were classified and categorized by environmental impact assessment stage (addition to status survey, impact prediction and evaluation, establishment of reduction measures, post-environmental impact survey), and data demand for each type of consultation opinion was linked. As a result of the categorization of Agreed Terms and Conditions, it was classified into 18 types in the water quality, 15 types in the hydraulic & hydrologic conditions, and 17 types in the marine environment. As a result of linking data demand, the total number of data demand was 236 in the water quality, 98 in the hydraulic & hydrologic conditions, and 73 in the marine environment. The highest number of Agreed Terms and Conditions and data demands were found in the water quality for the evaluation item and establishment of reduction measures, specifically establishment of non-point source pollution reduction measures, for the stage. The numbers were judged to be linked to the relative importance of the items and the primary purpose of environmental impact assessment. The derivation of data demand through the analysis of Agreed Terms and Conditions in the environmental impact assessment can contribute to the advancement of the preparation of environmental impact assessment reports and is expected to increase data utilization by various decision-makers by establishing a systematic database.
The present study aims to investigate the level difference of floor impact noises of composite floor structure using EVA resilient materials. In order to this, four different types of resilient materials were designed combining PET, PP sheet and EVA mount including Flat type, Deck type, Cavity type and Mount type. Totally 9 different samples were made for acoustic measurements which were carried out twice with bang-machine and impact ball as the heavy-weight floor impact noise sources. All the floor impact noise measurements were undertaken at the authentication institution. As a result, concerning Flat and Cavity types, it was found that 2 dB ~ 5 dB of heavy-weight floor impact noise was reduced supplementally when PET was added, while floor impact noise larger than 50 dB was acquired when single resilient material was used. Especially, most high performance was obtained for Mount type with 1st grade of light-weight floor impact noise and 2nd grade of heavy-weight floor impact noise. This is because of material property with low dense PET sound absorption materials which fill all around EVA mounts. Also, it was considered that this results are due to the sound impact absorption by the both EVA mounts and the air cavity between EVA mount and PP sheet. Also, it was found that at least 36 EVA mounts per 1m2 area of resilient panel make more noise reduction of heavy-weight floor impact noises.
