IMC Strategy of Sinhan Card for Building the Strong Brand Equity (신한카드 브랜드구축을 위한 IMC전략)

  • Brand is the major enduring asset of a company and more valuable than the totality of specific products and facilities. Thus brands are powerful assets that must be carefully developed and managed. The company should design and implement marketing activities and marketing communication programs to build and grow the brand value. Strarbucks, Samsung Galaxy, and Nike brands get a price premium and generate strong customer loyalty. A power brand has high brand equity, which is the differential effect that brand knowledge has on consumer response to the marketing of that brand. Brand equity is created when brands have strong, favorable and unique brand associations with customers and high level of brand awareness. Therefore marketers in building a strong brand should ensure to develop the right type of customer experiences with products and effective integrated marketing communication(IMC) programs to create the brand equity. Since 2007 Sinhan card acquiring the LG card has developed the new brand identity and carefully managed the advertising campaign and other marketing communication mix tools to create the high brand awareness and differential brand image. In this case study we examine how Sinhan card with the goal of being No.1 brand in the credit card market has developed and implemented the IMC Strategy to build a high level of consumer brand awareness, unique brand image and strong customer relationship.

  • This paper presents an Image Motion Compensation (IMC) algorithm for the Korea's Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS)-1. An IMC algorithm is a priority component of image registration in Image Navigation and Registration (INR) system to locate and register radiometric image data. Due to various perturbations, a satellite has orbit and attitude errors with respect to a reference motion. These errors cause depointing of the imager aiming direction, and in consequence cause image distortions. To correct the depointing of the imager aiming direction, a compensation algorithm is designed by adapting different equations from those used for the GOES satellites. The capability of the algorithm is compared with that of existing algorithm applied to the GOES's INR system. The algorithm developed in this paper improves pointing accuracy by 40%, and efficiently compensates the depointings of the imager aiming direction.

  • We consider the robust control problem for nonminimum phase(NMP) systems with parametric uncertainty which appear often in aircraft and missile control. First, a new method that makes such an uncertain NMP system to be factored as a interval minimum phase(MP) transfer function and a time delay term in the Pade approximation form has been presented. The controller to be proposed consists of a compensator $C_{Q}$(s) with Smith predictor in the internal model control(IMC) structure, so that it can have good robustness and performance against the structured uncertainty and the time delay behaviour due to NMP plant the $C_{Q}$(s) is designed on the MP model by using QFT. The stability and performance of overall system has been evaluated by the generalized Kharitonov theorem.rem.

  • This paper proposes a stabilizing controller for the multirate sampled-data systems which have a periodic output measurement scheme. A sufficient condition for maintaining observability in the multirate sampled-data system is derived and a design strategy for disturbance rejection is proposed. The proposed controller has IMC structure, and can be decomposed into the disturbance estimator and the inverse of the fast uniform sampled plant. We assume that the plant is open-loop stable and the disturbance consists of a sum of finite number of sinusoids with different frequencies. An example is presented for illustrations.

  • Recently, the more advanced control technologies are required to deal with the fast and accurate motion in manipulators. For these requirements, many manipulator control methods have been developed such as a computed torque method.   • This paper proposes a stabilizing controller for the multirate sampled-data systems, which have a periodic output measurement scheme, in case of the open-loop unstable plant. We also propose a design method for the plant output estimator. It is shown that the proposed pre-stabilizing controllers can stabilize the plant through the simulations. The proposed controller has IMC structure, and can be decomposed into the pre-stabilizing controller, the plant output estimator, the filtered disturbance estimator and the inverse of the fast pre-stabilized plant model. We assume that the plant is open-loop unstable and the disturbance consists of a sum of finite number of sinusoids with different frequencies. Some examples are presented for illustrations.

  • In this paper, the analytical tuning rules of the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller have been derived for a broad class of stable, integrating, and unstable processes without time delay. On the basis of the renowned internal model control (IMC) design principles and the two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) control structure, the proposed method can be effectively used for obtaining the enhanced performances of both the disturbance rejection as well as the set-point tracking problems, since the design scheme is simple, straightforward, and can be easily implemented in the process industry. Several processes without time delay are employed to demonstrate the improved closed-loop performance of the proposed controller design in compared with the other well-known design methods in terms of the same degree of robustness.

  • Temperature control of an autothermal methanol reforming reactor which uses the copper-zinc oxide catalyst was studied. Temperature at 1cm below the hot-spot point in the reactor was used for the controlled variable, and the air flow rate was used for the manipulated variable. A first order plus time delay model was identified and controller parameters were obtained by applying the IMC-PI tuning rule to the identified model. With this controller, we could control the reforming reactor temperature within ${\pm}5^{\circ}C$ over 100 hours. Change of the hot-spot point due to the catalyst degradation was investigated and it could be used to design an adaptive controller.

  • In this study, a new UBM materials system for solder flip chip interconnection of Cu pads were investigated using electroless copper (E-Cu) and electroless nickel (E-Ni) plating method. The interfacial reaction between several UBM structures and Sn-36Pb-2Ag solder and its effect on solder bump joint mechanical reliability were investigated to optimife the UBM materials design for solder bump on Cu pads. Fer the E-Cu UBM, continuous coarse scallop-like $Cu_{6}$ $Sn_{5}$ , intermetallic compound (IMC) was formed at the solder/E-Cu interface, and bump fracture occurred this interface under relative small load. In contrast, Fer the E-Ni/E-Cu UBM, it was observed that E-Ni effectively limited the growth of IMC at the interface, and the Polygonal $Ni_3$$Sn_4$ IMC was formed because of crystallographic mismatch between monoclinic $Ni_3$$Sn_4$ and amorphous E-Ni phase. Consequently, relatively higher bump adhesion strength was observed at E-Ni/E-Cu UBM than E-Cu UBM. As a result, it was fecund that E-Ni/E-Cu UBM material system was a better choice for solder flip chip interconnection on CU PadS.
