  • The Instant Messenger(IM) is the most popular personal communication tool today. IM is a tool that can substitute E-mail for a person, and can secure the user for a company. Further, it is claimed as it has a limitless potential. However, there has been several reports on security issues. It has known that the transmitting message is not secured for the attacks, and hacking tools has been developed. In addition, several reports has been made regards to the vulnerability. In other words, anyone can been through and manipulate the messages that are sent or received via IM. This is a barrier for the IM to be developed as a corporate's strategic tool, and furthermore, it will create serious personal privacy issue. IETF IMPP Working Group is preparing a standard mutual relationship between IM. However, it is complicated due to the American On-Lines's absence, whom has ensured the most number of IM users. There was a discussion only about the form of the transmitting data, but it is insufficient state to discuss the security service for general. In this paper, I design and implement the Secure Instant Messaging System, to solve the IM's vulnerability and the security issue presented above.

  • This study investigated relationship between preservice kindergarten teachers' cognitive strategies and self-determination motivation types. Cognitive strategies were measured by 3 variables surface, deep, and metacognitive strategies; motivation for self-determination was measured by 7 variables; intrinsic motivation(IM) to know, IM to accomplish, IM to experience stimulation, external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, and amotivation. The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(Pintirch & DeGroot, 1990) and the Academic Motivation Scale(Vallerand et al., 1992, 1993) were administered to 82 subjects. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis, and canonical correlation analysis. Finding were a positive correlation between IM to know and IM to accomplish. IM to accomplish positively predicted surface, deep, and metacognitive strategies, and identified regulation positively predicted deep cognitive strategy. Amotivation negatively predicted deep and metacognitive strategies.

  • An integrated magnetic (IM) transformer is proposed for a phase shifted full bridge (PSFB) converter with zero voltage switching (ZVS). In a proposed IM transformer, the transformer is located on the center leg of E-core and the output inductor is wound on two outer legs with air gap. The proposed IM transformer is analyzed by using the magnetic capacitor model. For reducing the core size, EE core is redesigned. The proposed IM transformer is experimentally verified on a 1.2 kW prototype converter. The converter efficiency with the proposed IM transformer is about 93 % at full load and its volume size can be reduced. It can be expected that the power density can be largely increased with the proposed IM transformer.

  • Herein we report multiple ion mobility (IM) peaks in electrospray ionization IM mass spectrometry (ESI-IM-MS) produced by glutamine residue in peptide. The mobility features of 147 peptides were investigated using ESI-IM-MS combined with liquid chromatography. Of these peptides, 66 presented multiple IM peaks, and analysis of their sequence using collision induced dissociation (CID) revealed that glutamine (Gln), as well as proline (Pro), plays a critical role in generating multiple IM peaks. Mutant-based investigations using Gln-containing peptides indicate that the side chain of Gln promotes intermolecular interactions, inducing multiple structures of the peptide ions in the gas phase. Consequently, the present study demonstrates that the distinct ion mobility signatures identified herein can potentially be used to characterize glutamine-containing peptide ions.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze chemical water quality, fish trophic guilds, tolerance indicators, and fish community conditions in the Gap Stream and to compare the stream conditions between the unimpacted site and impacted site. This study was conducted in the physically stable season (May 2008) to minimize physical impacts such as flow and hydrological disturbance, and applied the study in the Gap Stream with two sites of unimpacted upstream site (Unim-S), mainly surrounded by forested area and impacted site (Im-S), influenced by the wastewater disposal plants and industrial complex in the urban region. Chemical data analysis showed that the degree of organic matter pollution, based on BOD, and COD, was $2{\sim}3$ fold greater in the Im-S than the Unim-S, and that TP, as eutrophication indicators, was 4.7 fold greater in the Im-S. Also, $NH_3-N$ was in 8.2 fold greater in the Im-S ($6.25\;mg\;L^{-1}$) than the Unim-S ($0.76\;mg\;L^{-1}$), indicating a massive influence of wastewater from the disposal plant. Similar results were found in other chemical parameters. Thus, chemical impacts in the Im-S were evident, compared to the unimpacted site. Evaluations of tolerant indicator species indicated that sensitive species were dominant in the Unim-S (23.9%) and tolerant species were dominant (97.8%) in the Im-S. Condition factor (CF) was averaged 0.95 ($0.68{\sim}1.18$) in the Unim-S and 1.08 ($0.93{\sim}1.22$) in the Im-S. Fish community in the Unim-S and Im-S was categorized as Zacco-community and Hemibarbus-community, respectively, and the community diversity index (H') was significantly (p<0.05) higher in the Unim-S (0.810) than the Im-S (0.466). Overall, our results suggest that the comparison approach of various chemical and ecological indicators provide important information in identifying multiple stressors in the stream ecosystems.

  • IM(Instant Messenger) chatting service can carry user's various information including life style, geographical position, and psychology & crime history and thus forensic analysis on the IM service is desirable. But, forensic analysis for KakaoTalk's chatting service is not well studied yet. For this reason, we study KakaoTalk's forensic analysis focusing on chatting service. This paper first details a general method of IM forensics investigating the previous articles about IM forensics although there are not many articles. Second, we discuss methodologies for IM forensics wherein we present analysis of table structure and method for reconstruction of chatting message. These result in the basic element of forensic tools of KakaoTalk chatting message. Last, we compare artifacts of KakaoTalk with that of WhatsApp. We conclude that these applications are, at least, different in that table structures and the ways to reconstruct chatting messages are not same and therefore digital evidences or artifacts are not same and somewhat distinct.

  • Nonwoven fabrics have been widely used in various fields that include household, industrial, agricultural, medical goods, especially in the automobile industry. In this study, eco-friendly fiber materials were developed and investigated as a substitute material for polyester fibers in nonwovens. To make plant fiber bundles, stems of Indian mallow (IM), and Kuzu vine (KV) were retted; in addition, the non-cellulose component was partially removed. Plant fiber bundles and polyester fibers (P) were blended and needle punched to produce nonwovens. Five kinds of nonwovens were manufactured: P100 (Polyester 100%), IM10 (IM 10% and Polyester 90%), IM20 (IM 20% and Polyester 80%), KV10 (KV 10% and Polyester 90%), and KV20 (KV 20% and Polyester 80%). The color values, surface appearance, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, abrasion strength, flexstiffness, moisture regain, water or oil absorbency, and static electricity of manufactured nonwovens are investigated. As the blended ratios of IM or KV increased, the brightness of nonwovens decreased compared to that of polyester 100%. Tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion strength, and flexstiffness of IM10 as well as KV10 were higher than those of P100, IM20, and KV20, resulting from the influence of the structure and properties of nonwoven fibers. Moisture regain and water or oil absorbency increased, while static electricity decreased in proportion to the amount of plant fibers. IM or KV and polyester blended nonwovens showed improved properties over P100 that could be substituted for P100 as a novel material for textiles.
