  • Hygrothermal aging of the laminates of $Avimid^{R}$ K3B/IM7 in $80^{\circ}C$ water was studied as a function of immersion time prior to forming microcracks. The factors causing the $80^{\circ}C$ water to degradation of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix toughness, change in residual stresses or interfacial damage between the fiber and matrix. The times to saturation in $80^{\circ}C$ water for the laminates and the neat resin are 100 hours and 500 hours. After 500 hours aging of the neat resin in $80^{\circ}C$ water, the glass transition temperature was changed less than $1\%$ by DSC test and the weight gain was $1.55\%$ increase. After 500 hours aging, the fracture toughness of the neat resin was decreased about $37\%$ by 3-point bending test. After 100 hours aging of the [+45/0/-45/90]s K3B/IM7 laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ water, the weight gain was $0.41\%$ increase. The $80^{\circ}C$ water diffusion rate into the neat resin was faster than into the laminates. In 100 hours, the loss of the microcracking toughness of the laminates was $28\%$ of the original toughness by our own microcracking fracture toughness criterion.

  • The amplification of telomerase component (TERC) gene could play an important role in generation and treatment of haematological malignancies. This present study was aimed to investigate copy number amplification status of TERC gene in chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) patients who were being treated with imatinib mesylate (IM). Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood of CML-IM Resistant (n=63), CML-IM Respond (n=63) and healthy individuals (n=30). TERC gene copy number predicted (CNP) and copy number calculated (CNC) were determined based on $Taqman^{(R)}$ Copy Number Assay. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis was performed to confirm the normal signal pattern in C4 (calibrator) for TERC gene. Nine of CML patients showed TERC gene amplification (CNP=3), others had 2 CNP. A total of 17 CML patients expressed CNC>2.31 and the rest had 2.31>CNC>1.5. TERC gene CNP value in healthy individuals was 2 and their CNC value showed in range 1.59-2.31. The average CNC TERC gene copy number was 2.07, 1.99 and 1.94 in CML-IM Resistant patients, CML-IM Respond and healthy groups, respectively. No significant difference of TERC gene amplification observed between CML-IM Resistant and CML-IM Respond patients. Low levels of TERC gene amplification might not have a huge impact in haematological disorders especially in terms of resistance towards IM treatment.

  • A method for the fault-tolerant vector control of star-connected 3-phase Induction Motor (IM) drive systems based on Field-Oriented Control (FOC) is proposed in this paper. This method enables the control of a 3-phase IM in the presence of an open-phase failure in one of its phases without the need for control structure changes to the conventional FOC algorithm. The proposed drive system significantly reduces the speed and torque pulsations caused by an open-phase fault in the stator windings. The performance of the proposed method was verified using MATLAB (M-File) simulation as well experimental tests on a 1.5kW 3-phase IM drive system. This paper experimentally compares the operation of the proposed fault-tolerant vector controller and a conventional vector controller during open-phase fault.

  • In this paper, the effects of matrix hygrothermal aging and residual stress changes on $Avimid^{(R)}$ K3B/IM7 laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ water were studied. The factors causing the $80^{\circ}C$ water to degradation of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix toughness, the change in residual stresses. After 500 hours fully saturated aging of the neat resin, the weight gain was 1.55% increase with the diffusion coefficient $7{\times}10^{-6}m^2/s$ and the fracture toughness was decreased about 41%. After 100 hours fully saturated aging of the $[+45/0/-45/90]_s$ K3B/IM7 laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ water, the weight gain was 0.41% increase with the diffusion coefficient $1{\times}10^{-6}m^2/s$ and the loss of the microcracking fracture toughness was 43.8% of the original toughness. To see whether the residual stress influenced the fracture toughness, two ply $[90^{\circ}/0^{\circ}]$ laminates were put in $80^{\circ}C$ water from 2 hours to 8 hours. The changes in residual stress in 8 hours are less than 3MPa. Because the 3MPa change is not sufficient to degrade the laminates, the main factor to degrade the microcracking fracture toughness was the degradation of the matrix fracture toughness.

  • Objective : This study aimed to confirm the research characteristics and quality of single-subject literature among domestic studies that applied interactive metronome (IM) intervention. Methods : Regarding literature search, 11 single-subject studies using IM were selected from an online database from January 2011 to June 2022. Moreover, the general characteristics and quality of the research method were analyzed. Results : The qualitative level of the analyzed literature was above the moderate level. However, intervention blindness and reliability showed low compliance. The ABA design accounted for the largest proportion of methods. Most of the study participants had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Attention, balance, bilateral coordination, and timing were checked as dependent variables. The IM-SFT was used most frequently as an evaluation method. The mediation session applied more than 8-10 interventions for 3-11 weeks. The intervention results in all studies indicated functional improvement after intervention. Conclusion : It might be necessary to expand the application of IM interventions to diverse diseases. In addition, there is a need to study the effect on the participants' quality of life and changes in daily life along with dependent variables such as attention and balance

  • Purpose: Few studies have been conducted on the recent status of infectious mononucleosis (IM) in Korean children. The aim of this study was to evaluate the recent trend in the clinical manifestations of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated IM as well as the clinical differences according to age. Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 81 children hospitalized with EBV-associated IM who fulfilled the serological criteria for the diagnosis of EBV infection (viral capsid antigen immunoglobulin M positive). The patients were divided into 3 age groups: <5 years, 5 to 9 years, and ${\geq}10$ years. We evaluated the recent trend in clinical manifestations and the differences in clinical and laboratory findings among the 3 age groups. Results: Thirty (37%) children were under 5 years of age, 38 (46.9%) were 5 to 9 years of age, and 13 (16%) were 10 years of age or older. The differences in the symptoms and signs among the 3 age groups were not statistically significant, except for headache. The mean duration of fever was 7.7 days (range, 0 to 18 days). A comparison of liver enzyme elevation among the age groups showed an association with advancing age (26.6%, 63.1%, and 76.9%, respectively, P=0.04) Conclusion: This study showed that EBV-associated IM in Korean children continues to occur mostly in children under 10 years of age. In children with EBV-associated IM, the incidence of headache and liver enzyme elevation, the duration of fever, and the proportion of females to males were all positively associated with advancing age.

  • We have designed and fabricated a linear drive amplifier with a novel intermodulation distortion(IMD) canceller using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The drive amplifier with IMD canceller is composed of a cascode main amplifier and an additional common-source IMD canceller. Since the IMD canceller generates IM3($3^{rd}$-order imtermodulation) signal with $180^{\circ}$ phase difference against the IM3 of the cascode main amplifier, the IM3 power is drastically eliminated. As of the measurement results, $OP_{1dB}$, $OIP_3$, and power-add efficiency are 5.5 dBm, 15.5 dBm, and 21%, respectively. Those are 5 dB, 6 dB, and 13.5% enhanced values compared to a conventional cascode drive amplifier. The IMD3 of the drive amplifier with IMD canceller is enhanced more than 10 dB compared to that of the conventional cascode drive amplifier for input power ranges from -22 to -14 dBm.

  • Density functional theory (DFT) was used to determine the ground state geometries of indigo and new design dyes (IM-Dye-1 IM-Dye-2 and IM-Dye-3). The time dependant density functional theory (TDDFT) was used to calculate the excitation energies. All the calculations were performed in both gas and solvent phase. The LUMO energies of all the dyes were above the conduction band of $TiO_2$, while the HOMOs were below the redox couple (except IM-Dye-3). The HOMO-LUMO energy gaps of new design dyes were smaller as compared to indigo. All new design dyes were strongly red shifted as compared to indigo. The improved light harvesting efficiency (LHE) and free energy change of electron injection ${\Delta}G^{inject}$ of new designed sensitizers revealed that these materials would be excellent sensitizers. The broken coplanarity between the benzene near anchoring group having LUMO and the last benzene attached to TPA unit in all new design dyes consequently would hamper the recombination reaction. This theoretical designing will the pave way for experimentalists to synthesize the efficient sensitizers for solar cells.
