N-Terminal Sequences of ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones Proteins (${\lambda}$형(型) Bence Jones 단백질(蛋白質)의 N 말단주변(末端周邊)의 아미노산배열순서(酸配刻順序)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Two peptides (Im pr-M, Im ch-M) derived from Im ${\lambda}-type$ of Bence Jones Protein and one peptide (Ikch-M) from Ik were separated and purified using the Dowex $50{\times}2$ column $(1{\times}20\;cm)$ and Dowex $1{\times}2(0.9{\times}50\;cm)$. The buffer solution was composed of 1% pyridine and IM formic acid in Dowex $1{\times}2$ column. The blocked N-terminal was examined with ninhydrin reaction before and after alkaline hydrolysis, which was fractionated by Dowex $1{\times}2$ column. Pyrro-glutamic acid in N-terminal residue was identified by comparing with the authentic pyrro-glutamic acid through a high voltage electrophoresis (pH 3.5, 3000 V.) after the peptide Im pr-M (PCA. Ser) was cleavaged at the position of serine with cone. (12 N) HCl and the pyrro-glutamic acid was converted to glutamic acid by treating it with N-NaOH for 116 hours at $27^{\circ}C$. The substractive method was applied to find out the sequence of peptides and carboxypeptidase A was employed to release C-terminal residue from the peptide. In present study PCA. Ser in Im Pr-M was isolated from the pronase digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones protein. The yield of the Im Pr-M was 79.6 percent of its theoretical value, based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein. Im ch-M (PCA. Ser Val. Leu) was isolated from the chymotrypsin digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones Protein. The yield of the Im ch-M was 72.2 percent. based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein. Ik ch-M (PCA. Ser. Ala. Leu) was isolated from the chymotrypsin digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones Protein and its yield was 42% based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein.

The Aging Effect of $Avimid^(R)$ K3B/1M7 Laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ Water ($Avimid^(R)$ K3B/IM7 복합재료의 $80^{\circ}C$ 물에서의 노화현상)

  • The Hygrothermal aging of the laminates of $Avimid^(R)$ K3B/IM7 in $80^{\circ}C$ water was studied as a function of immersion time prior to forming microcracks. The factors causing the $80^{\circ}C$ water to degradation of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix toughness, the change in residual stresses or the interfacial damage between the fiber and the matrix. The times to saturation in $80^{\circ}C$ water for the laminates and for the neat resin were 100 hours and 500 hours. After 500 hours aging of the neat resin, the glass transition temperature was changed less than 1% by DSC test, and the weight gain was 1.55% increase with the diffusion coefficient $7\times10^{-6}m/s^2$ and the fracture toughness was decreased about 41%. After 100 hours fully saturated aging of the ${[+45/0/-45/90]}_s$ K3B/IM7 laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ water, the weight gain was 0.41% increase with the diffusion coefficient $1\times10^{-6}m/s^2$. In 100 hours, the loss of the fracture toughness of the laminates was 43.8% of the original toughness by the microcracking fracture toughness criterion. Therefore, the main factor to degrade the microcracking toughness of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix fracture toughness.

Design of Temperature Compensation Circuit for Satisfying the Intermodulation Specification of Power Amplifier (전력증폭기의 혼변조 규격 만족을 위한 온도보상회로 설계)

  • Temperature compensation circuit is implemented by using the temperature sensor, and Intermodulation (IM) Specification of Power Amplifier is satisfied in the temperature range of $-30^{\circ}C{\sim}60^{\circ}C$ with this temperature compensation circuit. The output voltage of temperature compensation circuit which vary 170mV with the temperature is applied to the gate of TR in 3W output power Amplifier. As the result, right 3rd IM component is -18.5~-26dBm, left 3rd IM component is -18.5~-35dBm, and the left and right 5th IM component is -24~-26dBm in the temperature range of $-30^{\circ}C{\sim}60^{\circ}C$. It is confirmed that IM specification of power amplifier which is under -17dBm in the whole temperature range is satisfied.

  • 서브 시스템의 구조와 기능 요소 및 관련 신호 프로토콜에 대해 기술하고 있다. IM 서비스란 이동가입자에게 하부에 IP 전송 프로토콜을 기반으로 하는 다양한 형태의 패킷 서비스들을 동시에 제공하는 것을 말한다. 이를 위해 3GPP에서 제시하고 있는 논리적인 ALL IP 망 구조는 IM CN 서브시스템을 포함하고 있는데, IM CN 서브시스템의 중요한 기능 요소로는 Call Session Control Function(CSCF)와 Home Subscriber Server(HSS) 등이 있다. CSCF는 가입자가 위치하고 있는 망에 따라서 가입자의 세션과 서비스를 제어한다. HSS는 가입자의 마스터 데이터베이스로 기존의 3G HLR의 모든 기능과 User Mobility Server(UMS) 기능을 가진다. 본 고에서는 위의 두 기능 요소들의 기능과 상호 간의 시그널링 프로토콜을 최신 동향을 기반으로 분석하고 기본적인 시그널링 절차도 기술한다.

Outcome of Intestinal Metaplasia in Gastric Biopsy of Patients with Dyspepsia in Guilan Province, North Iran

  • Background: It is generally accepted that gastric carcinomas are preceded by a sequential multistage process that includes chronic gastritis, gastric atrophy, usually with intestinal metaplasia (IM), and dysplasia. This series of changes in gastric carcinogenesis is often initiated by Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) infection. The aim of the present study was determination of gastric histopathologic changes in IM patients after at least one year in Guilan province, Iran. Materials and Methods: This case-series study was conducted in Guilan Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease Research Center (GLDRC) during 2010 to 2011. Gastric biopsy was performed for all 71 known cases of IM and precanceric lesions including gastric atrophy, IM, dysplasia and H pylori infection were determined after at least one year. Results: Of the total of 71 patients with established IM who were enrolled, 50 had complete-type IM and 21 had incomplete-type IM. Fifty two people had H pylori infection. H pylori eradication was achieved in 39 patients (75%). Secondary pathology findings of patients with IM were complete metaplasia (39.4%), incomplete metaplasia (32.4%), dysplasia (23.9%) and other precanceric lesions (4.2%). Dysplasia (20%vs 33%) occurred in patients who had complete and incomplete IM at baseline respectively (p>0.05). Age, gender, family history of gastric cancer(GC); smoking habits and NSAIDs use were not associated with gastric premalignant lesions in initial and secondary pathologies (p>0.05). The difference became statistically significant between H pylori infection in patients with more than 3 years diagnostic intervals (p<0.05). Statistical difference between eradicators and non-eradicators was not significant. Conclusions: We found that incomplete IM increased the risk of subsequent dysplasia in this study.

A Study on the Externally Applicable Formula of Eminent Doctor Heo Im ("사의경험방(四醫經驗方)"중 허임(許任) 경험방(經驗方)의 추출과 외치법(外治法) 분석)

  • Objective : In this study, we try to identify the herbal formulated by Heo Im from Kyeongheombang(經驗方), and investigate its medical property. Method : Those articles referenced from Heo Im's herbal formulas in "Sauikyeongheombang(四醫經驗方)" were extracted and results were quantitatively analyzed. From extracted empirical formulas, those categorized as externally applicable formulas were grouped by several standards and their medical significance was analyzed. Results and Conclusions : 85 and 66 articles were designated to be referred from Heo(許) in "Sauikyeongheombang" and "Uibanghapbu(醫方合部)" in each category, and 263 and 155 were identified to be Heo Im formulas, respectively. Externally applicable formulas in Heo Im's empirical recipes have following characteristics. First, various methods were used by Heo Im. Second, Heo Im's empirical formulas suggest useful clinical information maximizing therapeutic effect, which is of much value, originated from his practical experiences as a clinician. Third, Heo Im's therapy favorably succeeds the tradition of Hyangyak-medicine and Empirical -medicine. From this information, Heo Im is thought to have had rich insight and experience, not only in acupuncture but also in the prescription of herbal formulas at those days.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present an Integrated Life Cycle Bridge Information Modeling that can be used throughout different phases of the bridge life cycle including: design, construction, and operation and maintenance phases. Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) has become an effective tool in bridge engineering and construction. It has been used in obtaining accurate shop drawings, cost estimation, and visualization. In this paper, BrIM is used as an integrated tool for bridges life cycle information modeling. In the design phase, BrIM model can be used in obtaining optimum construction methods and performing structural advanced analysis. During construction phase, the model selects the appropriate locations for mobile cranes, monitors the status of precast components, and controls documents. Whereas, it acts as a tool for bridge management system in operation and maintenance phase. The paper provides a detailed description for each use of BrIM model in design, construction, and operation and maintenance phases of bridges. It is proven that BrIM is an effective tool for bridge management systems throughout their life phases.

Atypical Intramuscular Myxoma of the Lumbosacral Paraspinal Muscle : The First Case Report in Asian

  • Intramuscular myxoma (IM) is a benign neoplasm of mesenchymal origin. We report a rare case of IM which was located in the lumbosacral paraspinal muscles. A 62-year-old female patient presented with progressive low back pain for 2 months, and the radiologic findings showed a large mass ($4.0{\times}3.5{\times}6.5cm$) in the right lumbosacral paraspinal area. Total resection of the tumor was performed and the symptom was nearly resolved after surgery. Although the immuno-histopathological analysis was consistent with IM, there were some different findings from typical pathological characteristics of IM in this case. Firstly, the symptomatic change of the mass took relatively short time (less than 3 months), and this change was accompanied by partial calcification inside the mass. Moreover, iatrogenic interruption of paravertebral muscle by the other previous operation might be the promoting factor of the fibrous dysplasia, which can explain the pathogenesis of IM. To our knowledge, this is the eighth case of the lumbar paraspinal myxoma reported in the literatures and the first case in Asian population.

A Direct Torque Control System for Improving Speed Response of Five-Phase Induction Motor (5상 유도전동기의 속도응답특성 개선을 위한 직접토크제어 시스템)

  • This paper propose a improved direct torque control(DTC) system for improving operation of five-phase squirrel-cage induction motor(IM). A five-phase IM drives present unique characteristics due to the additional degrees of freedom and also drives possess many others advantage compared with the traditional three-phase motor drive system, such as reducing a amplitude of torque pulsation and increasing the reliability. In order to maximize the torque per ampere, the proposed motor has concentrated windings and the produced back-electromotive force(EMF) is almost trapezoidal, and the motor is supplied with the combined sinusoidal plus third harmonic of currents, there is necessary to controlled 3rd harmonic current. Also a DTC method is advantageous when it is applied to the five-phase IM, because the five-phase inverter provides 32 space vectors in comparison to 8 space voltage vectors into the three-phase inverter drive system. For presenting the superior performance of the proposed DTC, experimental results of speed control are presented using a 32-bit fixed point TMS320F2812 DSP with 1.5[hp] IM.
