New calibration method for the near-field scanning (NFS) system is presented. The proposed calibration method consisted of a new near-field antenna (NFP) and newly devised patterns as circular patch patterns (CPPs) and meander patterns (MPs). The proposed patterns were used for improving spatial resolutions and simplifying a calibration procedure of the NFP compared to the conventional method defined in the IEC61967-3 and 6. Also, the effect of the length of NFPs on attenuation characteristics was investigated with length of 8mm and 30mm. For them, we designed and fabricated CPPs of diameter (D) = 20, 40, 60, and 100mm and MPs of various widths and spaces. We found the reverse relations between spatial resolutions and heights of measuring points by using simplified calibration procedure. The testing result shows that the spatial resolution of $120{\mu}m$ at height of $200{\mu}m$ was verified without complex correlation algorithms under 8GHz. For manufacturing cost all patterns and the NFP were realized with low-cost fabrication using PCB (FR-4) not by a conventional LTCC process. For verification of chip-level EMC from the results, near-field scanning system (NFSS) having step resolution of Sub-micron scale was produced and by using the proposed NFSS and proposed NFP measurement of chip shows accurately the shape of the resolution of $200{\mu}m$ patterns for securing a high level of chip-level EMC verification.

Background: The efficacy of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) therapy can be measured based on the rate of treatment response, based on the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria or progression-free survival (PFS). However, there are some patients harboring sensitive EGFR mutations who responded poorly to EGFR-TKI therapy. In addition, there is variability in the PFS after EGFR-TKI treatment. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of the medical records of 85 patients with non-small cell lung cancer, who had achieved a stable disease or better response at the first evaluation of treatment response, after receiving a 2-month course of gefitinib. We calculated the tumor shrinkage rate (TSR) by measuring the longest and perpendicular diameter of the main mass on computed tomography before, and 2 months after, gefitinib therapy. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between the TSR and PFS (R=0.373, p=0.010). In addition, a simple linear regression analysis showed that the TSR might be an indicator for the PFS ($B{\pm}standard$ error, $244.54{\pm}66.79$; p=0.001). On univariate analysis, the sex, histologic type, smoking history and the number of prior chemotherapy regimens, were significant prognostic factors. On multivariate regression analysis, both the TSR (${\beta}$=0.257, p=0.029) and adenocarcinoma (${\beta}$=0.323, p=0.005) were independent prognostic factors for PFS. Conclusion: Our results showed that the TSR might be an early prognostic indicator for PFS in patients receiving EGFRTKI therapy.
For use in ultrasonic actuators, we investigated the structural and piezoelectric properties of $(1\;-\;x)Pb(Zr_{0.515}Ti_{0.485})O_3$ - $xPb(Sb_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ + 0.5 wt% $MnO_2$ [(1 - x)PZT - xPSN + $MnO_2$] ceramics with a variation of x (x = 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08). All the ceramics, which were sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, showed a typical perovskite structure, implying that they were well synthesized. A homogeneous micro structure was also developed for the specimens, and their average grain size was slightly decreased to $1.3{\mu}m$ by increasing x to 0.8. Moreover, a second phase with a pyrochlore structure appeared when x was above 0.06, which resulted in the deterioration of their piezoelectric properties. However, the 0.96PZT-0.04PSN+$MnO_2$ ceramics, which corresponds with a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) composition in the (1 - x)PZT - xPSN + $MnO_2$ system, exhibited good piezoelectric properties: a piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of 325 pC/N, an electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) of 70.8%, and a mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) of 1779. The specimens with a relatively high curie temperature ($T_c$) of $305^{\circ}C$ also showed a significantly high dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$) value of 1109. Therefore, the 0.96PZT - 0.04PSN + $MnO_2$ ceramics are suitable for use in ultrasonic vibrators.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of water fluoridation program(WFP) on dental caries prevention in Ulsan, Korea. Methods: The data of control group were extracted from 2012 Korean National Oral Health Survey(KNOHS). Since 1998, WFP was implemented in Ulsan. The subjects were 670 subjects including 10 to 12-years old children in 2009. The control subjects were 4,871 people in non-fluoridated metropolitan cities comparable to Ulsan. The control subjects were selected from 2012 KNOHS. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by the variables including oral health behaviors on daily frequency of toothbrushing, eating snacks and beverages. Oral health examination was carried out by two dentists who received a training in KNOHS with an inter-examiner-agreement. Caries preventive fraction was calculated by the difference of DMFT and DMFS index. The preventive effects of the WFP program were focused on gender, number of fissure sealed teeth, daily frequency of toothbrushing, eating snacks and beverages. Data were analyzed using SPSS $19.0^{(R)}$(SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) statistical package. Results: DMFT indices of 12-year-old subjects(n=670) in WFP and control population(n=4,871) were 2.11 and 1.23, respectively with an estimated prevention effect of 41.7%. Conclusions: WFP in Ulsan reduced the prevalence of dental caries. WFP should be recommended for the public oral health program in other metropolitan cities.

The macroalgal community structure was examined at the subtidal zones of six study sites, on the Southern coast of Korea from between May and August 2015. A total of 132 seaweeds, comprising 10 green, 28 brown and 94 red Seaweed, were identified. The seaweed biomass was $80.32g\;dry\;wt.\;m^{-2}$ in average, and it was maximal at Geomundo ($166.94g\;dry\;wt.\;m^{-2}$) and minimal at Byeongpungdo ($14.52g\;dry\;wt.\;m^{-2}$). On the basis of the biomass, the Ecklonia cava was a representative species, distributed widely in the subtidal zone of the three islands (Yeoseodo, Geomundo, Baekdo). Also, the Sargassum sp. was dominant at Sejondo and Hongdo. The turbidity and light transmittance was divided into two groups. The seaweed community structure of group A (Byeongpungdo, Sejondo, Geomundo) was characterized by high turbidity, low light transmittance and a lower habitat depth than were observed in group B (Hongdo, Baekdo, Yeoseodo). As the water depth increased, the biomass decreased due to the lowered light transmittance. In Byeongpungdo and Sejondo, which showed high turbidity and low light transmittance, the degree of seaweed coverage was decreased with the depth of water. The ESGII ratio of the Ecological Status Group was higher than fourty percentage in Byeongpungdo and Baekdo. Community indices were as follows: dominance index (DI) 0.35-0.90, richness index (R) 7.03-17.93, evenness index (J′) 0.22-0.60, and diversity index (H′) 0.79-2.18. The Macroalgal zonation of the subtidal zone was calculated by the Ecklonia cava and Brown algal population on five islands(Byeongpungdo, Yeoseodo, Geomundo, Beakdo, Hongdo). On the other hand, Undaria pinnatifida and Sargassum sp. dominated at Sejondo. Additionally, the biomass ratio and the species richness of green algae was lower in group A. These differences in the seaweed community structure may have resulted from the effects of turbidity and light transmittance.
An effective analytical method has been developed for the determination of β-blockers(atenolol, metoprolol and propranolol) and 6 β-lactams(amoxicillin, penicillin G, cefaclor, cefadroxil, cephalexin and cephradine) in water samples using two different cartridges. The samples were extracted by solid-phase extraction (SPE) with the usage of polymeric hydrophile-lipophile balance(HLB cartridges) and strong cation-exchange mixed-mode polymeric sorbent (MCX cartridges). A XDB-C18 column(1.8 μm; 3.0 mm × 100 mm) was used for the sufficient chromatographic resolution. The calibration curves showed good linearity with high correlation coefficients (>0.995). The method detection limits (MDL) and the limits of quantification(LOQ) were from 1.1 to 3.9 ng/L and from 5 to 13 ng/L, respectively. The method was applied for the determination of the target compounds in tributaries and raw water of the Han River and these were found at N.D. to 0.209 μg/L.
We can and must improve the diagnostic images using available knowledge and technology. At the same time we must strive to reduce the patient's integral and entrance radiation dose. Reducing the integral dose to the patient during the radiologic procedure is a primary concern of the patient, especially the pediatric patient, the radiologist and the technologist. A 100cm focal film distance generally is used for most over-table radiography. The early x-ray tubes and screen film combinations required long exposures, which often resulted in motion artifacts. But nowaday, we have the generators and x-ray tubes that can deliver the energy necessary in a very short time and the receptors that can record the information just as rapidly. And, we performed this studies to evaluate the patient exposure dose and the image quality by increasing focal film distance in diagnostic radiography. There are many factors which affected to exposure factor, but we studied to verify of FFD increase, only. Effect of increasing the focal film distance to a 140 cm distance was tested as follows; 1. The focal film distances were set at 100, 120, and 140cm. 2. A 18cm acryl(tissue equivalent) phantom was placed on the table top. 3. An Capintec 192 electrometer with PM 05 ion chamber was placed at the entrance surface of the phantom, and exposure were made at each focal film distances. 4. The procedure was repeated in the same manner as above except the ion chamber was placed beneath the phantom at the film plane. 5. Exit exposure were normalize to 8mR for each portions of the experiment. Based on the success of the empirical measurements, a detailed mathematical analysis of the dose reduction was performed using the percent depth dose data. The results of this study can be summerized as followings ; 1) Increasing FFD from 100 cm to 140 cm, we would create a situation that would have a significant effect on the overall quality of radiograph and achive the 17.42% reduction of entrance dose and the 18.95% reduction of integral dose that the patient receives. 2) Thickness of Al step wedge for equal film density increased with the long distance. 3) Increasing FFD, Magnification of image was lowered. 4) Resolution of image also increased with the FFD. As the results described above, we strongly recommend using the long FFD to provide better information for our patients and profession in abdomen radiographic studies.
In order to prevent the blackening and texture softening of heated shrimp, the pH was adjusted by soaking shrimps in acidic and alkali solutions, and their qualities were evaluated. The lightness of shrimps pretreated with 0.2% (w/w) citric acid and 0.05% (w/w) ascorbic acid solution increased by 20% compared to that of the control. The strength of mechanical hardness of shrimps soaked in acetic acid and phosphate solution (pH 6.0) was significantly higher ($1209g_f$) compared to that of untreated shrimp ($801g_f$; p<0.05), and the overall preference of texture was 0.4 points higher than that of the control in the descriptive sensory evaluation (p<0.05). In contrast, soaking in solution of pH 8 exhibited a weak texture hardening effect ($855g_f$). Additionally, the hardness of the heated shrimp after soaking at an adjusted pH of 4.0 increased to $4046g_f$, but the yield based on weight decreased to 38% compared to that of untreated shrimp (70%; p<0.05).
To improve the breeding efficiency of oriental pear, heritability, correlation and frequency distribution of fruit ripening date were analyzed using 4,035 seedlings obtained from 15 families between 13 parental cultivars. Although variation of fruit ripening time was higher in most early-ripening parental cultivars than in late-ripening parental cultivars, according to analysis of average, standard deviation, and coefficient of ripening variation for ten years, fruit ripening time obtained from all parental cultivars was inherited narrower and more stable variation than others fruit trait, with 0.92-3.41 in coefficient of variation. The heritability of fruit ripening time was calculated to be over 0.8 in almost all crosses and average fruit ripening time of seedlings from cross combinations could be predicted based on that of the parental cultivars due to its superior heritability relative to other fruit traits. The average ripening time was earlier than the mid-parental value in families obtained from cross combinations using at least one late-ripening cultivar as parent, indicating that the early-ripening trait was more likely to be dominant compared to the late-ripening trait. By contrast, average ripening time was clustered in families of crosses not only between mid-season and early-season cultivars, but also between mid-season and mid-season cultivars. There was highly significant relationship (at 0.68) between mid-parental and progeny mean fruit ripening time. The correlation between fruit ripening time and fruit weight was also highly positive and thus, the mid-parental fruit ripening time could be a potent criterion for indirect selection of fruit weight.
A simple and sensitive analytical method was developed using gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC-ECD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for determination of Picoxystrobin in agricultural products (apple, hulled rice, mushroom, pepper, soybean, and mandarin). Picoxystrobin residues were extracted with acetonitrile, partitioned with saline water, and then they were cleaned up on a florisil solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge to obtain an extract suitable for analysis by GC-ECD and GC-MS. The method was validated using 6 agricultural product samples spiked with Picoxystrobin at different concentration levels (0.02, 0.05 and 0.5 mg/L). Average recoveries of Picoxystrobin (using each concentration three replicates) ranged 64.0~98.3% with relative standard deviations less than 10%, calibration solutions concentration in the range 0.1~5 mg/L, and limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.005 and 0.02 mg/L, respectively. The result showed that the developed analytical method is suitable for Picoxystrobin determination in agricultural products.
