  • Many technologies for wireless internet are increasing as more and more laptop computers, net books, smart phone and other terminals, which provide wireless network, are created. IEEE 802.11 is computer wireless network technology that used in small area, called wireless LAN or Wi-Fi. IEEE 802.11 is a set of standards for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4, 3.6 and 5 GHz frequency bands. They are created and maintained by the IEEE LAN/MAN Standards Committee (IEEE 802). AP (Access Point) is installed at cafes and public places providing wireless environment. It is more convenient to use wireless internet, however, It can be seen easily around us and possible to communicate with AP. IEEE 802.11 has many vulnerability, such as packet manipulation and information disclosure, so we should pay more attention when using IEEE 802.11. Therefore this paper developing monitoring system which can find out AP and Stations that connect with it, and capturing AP's information to find out vulnerability. This paper suggests monitoring system which traffic analysis in wireless environment.

  • IEEE 802.16e specifies two different power saving modes(PSM). One is sleep mode and the other is idle mode. These modes are different in that whether a mobile node maintains its state information with the serving base station or not. This difference results in different efficiency in consuming battery power of a mobile terminal. Therefore, it becomes important to analyze the performance of each power saving mode considering the parameters affecting the power consumption. In this paper, we propose a performance modeling framework of sleep mode and idle mode in terms of power saving efficiency. The analytical results are verified by computer simulations that idle mode is superior to sleep mode in power consumption of mobile node.

  • Recently, a lot of research effort has been directed toward spectrum sensing and identification of OFDM signals as the OFDM technique has been adopted for transmission in many wireless communications standards. Among them, two popular WLAN standards, IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11n, have a very similar OFDM symbol structure in terms of the lengths of CP(cyclic prefix) and effective OFDM symbol and so it is not straightforward to distinguish them with existing spectrum sensing methods based on the difference in the parameters. In this paper, we present a spectrum sensing strategy for identifying them by exploiting the fact that they employ different bandwidths and examine its performance.

  • As the recent development of mobile technology, users want to multi-service in anytime, anywhere, any terminal. To meet the needs of users, it causes a lot of expense that redesign of the entire network or expand the network of services areas. Therefore, IEEE, IETF is offering Handover technology between Heterogeneous Network. In this paper, the IEEE 802.21 MIH Information Server is based on the network. It proposes an improved Handover that L3 layer to optimize the Handover process use of FMIPv6 and executes simulation.

  • There is a serious problem in an 802.11g VoWLAN (Voice over Wireless LAN) terminal that talk time is less than 30% compared with an 802.11b terminal. It is almost impossible to achieve talk time level of the 802.11b MAC transmission method because IEEE 802.11g uses OFDM modulation, which is a kind of multi-carrier method and OFDM transmission speed is 54 Mbps faster than normal modulation. In this paper, a new concept of a Holdover time as a power saving method during a call with 802.11g terminal is suggested for the first time. Increase in the number of engaged terminals as a result of holdover time causes to QoS problem because of the increase in the number of back-off and then contention window. In this paper, to solve the QoS problem, a new approach is suggested such that when in down lint the sequence number of 802.11 G.711 is analyzed in the MAC of the terminal and then the Hold over time depending on loss rate is changed. Also, consumption of an electric current of 802.11b/g and MAC parameter's performance due to busy traffic caused by increase in the number of terminal are analyzed and then real data using VQT and Airopeek are analyzed.

  • This paper proposes a session key distribution scheme on non-interactive key distribution algorithm of Identity-based cryptography in V2I of VANET. In the current VANET, IEEE 802.11i is used to provide secure data communication between the vehicle and infrastructure. However, since the 4-way handshake procedure reply when the vehicle handover to another RSU/AP, IEEE 802.11i increases the communication overhead and latency. The proposed scheme using non-interactive key distribution algorithm of Identity-based cryptography provided session key generation and exchange without message exchange and reduced communication overhead and latency than the IEEE 802.11i.

  • In this paper, a dynamic GTS scheduling method based on IEEE 802.15.4 is proposed for wireless control system. The proposed method can guarantee a transmission of real-time periodic and sporadic data within the time frame in factory environment. The modified superframe of IEEE 802.15.4 was used to the dynamic scheduling method of real-time mixed traffic(periodic data, sporadic data, and non real-time message). By separating CFP and CAP properly, the sporadic and non real-time messages are transmitted effectively and guarantee real-time transmission within a deadline. The simulation results show the improvement of real-time performance of periodic and sporadic data.

  • Vehicular communications have been receiving much attention in intelligent transport systems(ITS) by combining communication technology with automobile industries. In general, vehicular communication can be used for vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure( V2I) communication by adopting IEEE802.11p/1609 standard which is commonly known as wireless access in vehicular environment(WAVE). WAVE system transmits signal in 5.835~5.925 GHz frequency band with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) signaling. In this paper, after 32 bit processed the channel monitoring in MAC(Media Access Control) layer of WAVE system implemented according to IEEE 802.11p standard, data were received and we evaluated the performance, we built the test bed consisting of OBU(On Board Unit) in the real expressway. We transmitted WSM(WAVE Short Message) and received WSM between OBU wirelessly. And then, we calculated channel occupancy time per one frame and throughput, and evaluated the performance.

  • In this paper, we describe the optimization of the link-level performance and the complexity of floating-point and fixed-point methods in IEEE 802.16e OFDMA/TDD mobile modem. In floating-point design, we propose the channel estimation methods for downlink traffic channel and select the optimized method using computer simulation. So we also propose efficent algorithms for time and frequency synchronization, Digital Front End and CINR estimation scheme to optimize the system performance. Furthermore, we describe fixed-point method of uplink traffic and control channels. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is validated using the performances of Detection, False Alarm, Missing Probability and Mean Acquisition Time, PER Curve, etc. For fixed-point design, we propose an efficient methodology for optimized fixed-point design from floating-point At last, we design fixed-point of traffic channel, time and frequency synchronization, DFE block in uplink and downlink. The tradeoff between performance and complexity are optimized through computer simulations.

  • In this paper we propose a scheduling algorithm for supporting Quality of Service(QoS) in IEEE 802.11e HCCA referred to as ASR-DRR and ASD-DRR, which aims at providing improved performance for the support of multimedia traffic. Although We identify the problem of the current IEEE 802.11e HCCA (Hybrid Coordination Function Controlled Channel Access) scheduler and its numerous variations, that the queue information cannot be notified to the Hybrid Coordinator (HC) timely, therefore the uplink delay lengthens unnecessarily. We suggests a simple solution and a couple of implementation practices, namely the Adaptive Scheduler with RTS/CTS (ASR) and Adaptive Scheduler with Data/Ack (ASD). They are both further elaborated to emulate the Deficit Round Robin (DRR) scheduler. They are also compared with existing exemplary schedulers through simulation, and shown to perform well.
