High Speed InP HBT Driver Ie For Laser Modulation

  • High-speed IC for time-division multiplexing (TDM) optical transmission systems have been designed and fabricated by using InP heterojunction-bipolar-transistor (HBT) technology. The driver IC was developed for driving external modulators, featuring differential outputs and the operation speed up to 10 Gbps with an output voltage swing of 1.3 Vpp at each output which was the limit of the measurement. Because -3 dB frequency was 20GHz, this circuit will be operated up to 20Gbps. 1.3Vpp differential output was achieved by switching 50 mA into a 50 $\Omega$ load. The power dissipation of the driver IC was 1W using a single supply voltage of -3.5Y. Input md output return loss of the IC were better than 10 dB and 15 dB, respectively, from DC to 20GHz. The chip size of fabricated IC was $1.7{\Box}1.2 mm^{2}$.

  • In this paper, we propose a multiple slotted dual-band square patch antenna with CP(Circular Polarization) characteristic. And we present the simulation and measurement results of the design example. We designed a slotted patch antenna by using computer simulation program, Zeland IE3D, and then some tuning followed with measurements. Measured -10dB bandwidths of $S_{11}$ characteristic are 127MHz($2.346GHz{\sim}2.473GHz$) for the low-band, and 122MHz($3.379GHz{\sim}3.501GHz$) for the high-band, respectively. And measured maximum gains and half-power beamwidths are 6.94dBi, $72.95^{\circ}$ for the low-band at 2.30GHz, 5.78dBi, $76.51^{\circ}$ for the high-band at 3.45GHz, respectively.

  • It is uncommon for a palatal fistula to be detected in individuals who have not undergone surgery, and only sporadic cases have been reported. It is even more difficult to find cases of acquired palatal fistula in patients with submucous or incomplete cleft palate. Herein, we present 2 rare cases of this phenomenon. Case 1 was a patient with submucous cleft palate who acquired a palatal fistula after suffering from oral candidiasis at the age of 5 months. Case 2 was a patient with incomplete cleft palate who spontaneously, without trauma or infection, presented with a palatal fistula at the age of 9 months.

  • In July 2002, law of product liability will be established in Korea. Therefore, prevention for product liability(PL) will be immediately needed for many companies. So, in this paper, following topics will be discussed: 1) what are product liability and product safety, 2) why they are needed, 3) why important, 4) what's the difference between considering PL and not considering PL for companies, 5 ) what are risk management methods and risk evaluation system, 6) what is SASA(Systematic Approach to Accident Scenario Analysis) method for applying PL, 7) providing a final conclusion and discussion for future PL law.

  • 최근 PC의 성능이 향상되면서, 고성능의 전원공급 장치가 요구되고 있다. 특히 CPU에 대전력을 공급하는 싱크로너스 벅 컨버터는 파워 MOSFET을 구동하기 위해 별도의 구동 IC가 필요하다. 본 논문은 adaptive 지연을 이용하여 파워 MOSFET을 구동하는 싱크로너스 벅 구동 IC를 설계하였다. 고정밀도의 밴드캡 기준회로와 비교기를 이용하여 30 ns의 adaptive 지연을 생성하며, 전력소모를 줄이기 위해 저전압에서 동작하는 UVLO(under voltage lock out)를 설계하였다. 또한 상단 파워 MOSFET을 구동하기 위하여 부트스트랩 방식을 이용하며, 부트스트랩 다이오드를 IC 내부에 내장하여 컨버터의 설계비용을 줄였다. 설계한 구동 IC의 동작 전압 범위는 8 V - 15 V이며, 출력 전류는 최대 2A이다. 싱크로너스 벅 구동 IC는 $0.5\;{\mu}m$ BiCMOS(Bipolar-CMOS) 공정 파라미터를 사용하여 설계되었으며, 시뮬레이션은 Cadence사의 Spectre를 이용하였다.

Analysis and Assessment of Refuse Collection Polity (쓰레기 종량제 정책의 분석과 평가)

  • This thesis is to analyze and assess a new refuse collection system that was based on the term of discharge based quantity and collection of refuse from the beginning on January 1, 1995.In the case study for the refuse collection policy of metropolitan Taegu city based on the year of operation, ie, before 1994, after 1995 and as of 1998, the refuse collection policy analyzed from current position and actual condition. The results of analysis as follows. In case of discharged refuse quantity was show 20.4% reduction than the operation was begun and more 5.8% reduction as of 1998.Under the operation of the refuse collection system, therefore, management of refuse and garbage, the reduction of discharged refuse, activation of refuse collection, Recycling and expansion of financial self-reliance increased efficiency of refuse collection system. In the conclusion, more perfect refuse collection system should be developed of implemented in the near future.

Fabrication of triode type Ti-silicided field emission tip array (3극 티타늄 실리사이드 전계방출 팁 어레이의 제작)

  • A new field emission tip array was realized by Ti silicidation of Ti coated Si tip, which has long term durability, chemical stability, and high emission current density. The fabricated Ti silicided FE tip array under high vacuum condition of about $10^{-8}Torr$ shows that the turn-on voltage is about 40V and the emission current is about $69{\mu}A$ when the bias of 150V is applied between anode and cathode of $100{\mu}m$ distance.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the capability to use with cement admixture materials because Paper Sludge Ash consists of Si, Ca and Al which are chief content in Pozzolan. For the derivation of Pozzolanic reaction in Paper Sludge Ash, it is measured compressive strength on cement mortar which is replaced mixing of Paper Sludge Ash and inorganic admixture ; ie, gypsum, lime and slaked lime, regularly. In the result of test, the strength decrease remarkably when cement is only replaced with Paper Sludge Ash, but the strength is almost equal when cement is replaced with Paper Sludge Ash is mixed with inorganic admixture material in proportions of 5~15%. Consequently, It is possible to use Paper Sluge Ash with admixture materials of cement.

  • With new competitive environments, innovation is more necessary to survive severe competitions than ever. However, most Small and Medium(SM) businesses are used to be short of professional staffs, money and equipments for performing various innovations(ie., technological or administrative innovation, product development or Process development, and radical or incremental innovation). Many students have suggested that incremental innovation is more adequate than radical innovation in SM business. The purpose of this paper is to find antecedent factors In promote employees' Incremental Innovation Activities(IIA), In analyse moderating effects of ability and attitudes, and to test the difference of IIA-level by ability(or attitudes) and 11 independent factors. Each IIA-level by 5 variables of 11 independent variables-job variety, importance, identity, communication, performance dependency-is found to be significantly different in high-ability group affirmative-attitude group.

A Study on the Antimicrobial Activity of Allylamine Polymers(II) (Allylamine계 항균제의 합성 및 그 항균성에 관한 연구(II))

  • The antimicrobial activities of the copolymer of N,N'-dimethyl- N,N'-diallyl ammonium chloride(DMDAAC) and diallyl amino(DA) were investigated. The copolymer of DMDAAC and DA was prepared by free radical Polymerization through an intra-intermolecular propagation mechanism ie, cyclopolymerization. The copolymer was, then, reacted with cyanuric chloride for reactivity with hydroxyl group of cellulose. Cotton fabrics were finished by synthesized polymer, and their antimicrobial activities and fastness to launderings were tested. Dichlorotriazinyl DMDAAC-DA copolymer has MIC value of 1ppm against S. aureus and 10ppm against K pneumoniae. The antimicrobial fastness of the finished cotton to launderings were good enough to show colony reduction above 70% against S. aureus and K pneumoniae after 50 repeated laundering in anionic commercial detergent. Optimum treatment concentrations of the polymer were 0.5% in cold pad-batch method, and 0.1% in pad-dry method.
