In order to enhance sustainable war fighting capabilities, it is important to maintain a good ammunition support system. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of ammunition companies using Imprecise Data Envelopment Analysis (IDEA)-BCC and IDEA-Additive model, which can deal with imprecise data in DEA. The input variables of IDEA models were selected by stepwise multiple regression analysis. With the regression model, we could choose the number of soldiers, officers, and ammunition warehouses as input variables that have significant effects on the output performance. Then, we applied the IDEA-BCC model with the concept of potential efficiency. The results of the model indicate that 8 out of 16 ammunition companies are efficient, 7 are inefficient, and 1 is potentially efficient. We could also identify the possible input excesses and output shortfalls to reach the efficient frontier using the IDEA-Additive model.

This research suggests a new idea conception method for creative thinking to develop a creative fashion design. The common characteristics of the design area, the unique characteristics of the fashion design, and idea conception method for creative thinking were analyzed and reviewed to develop a creative fashion design research model. Based on this, the fashion design research model was planned through an attempt to graft a new idea conception method on an existing method to utilize the advantage of it suitable for fashion design characteristics and designated as an idea conception method for a creative fashion design research model. We developed 10 designs with a full awareness of the research model steps; subsequently, the effectiveness was confirmed through the evaluation phase of the research model that utilized the idea conception method. This research has significance in that the research model utilizing idea conception method that rarely addressed in precedent research was developed with the idea conception method as a research subject by drawing the characteristics for an idea conception of fashion design and new approach was tried that emphasized the advantages of the existing method.

Recently, construction projects are very complicated and diverse such as high-rise buildings and big bridges, etc. These complicated projects call for a system which can effectively generate productive ideas and activities. Value Engineering (V.E.) activity within construction projects is a necessity for systematic design management and to improve construction ability. This need in the construction industry has required a regular implementation of VE into construction projects. For this reason; America, South Korea, and some other nations have adopted VE applications which control the baseline investments of the construction projects. The process of VE activity is a preferred system and a reasonable alternative. In particular, idea generation within these projects is an important stage in the VE job plan. In this study, VE idea patterns are extracted through best practice analysis from VE cases of road construction projects. Next, we suggest an idea hierarchy model to be used in conjunction with VE idea patterns. This model is supported by reasonable idea generation in VE activity of construction projects. Finally, this model could possibly be the outcome of successful VE results.

In order to select a list of input and output variables, we used a multiple regression analysis. We could choose input variables that have significant effects on the output performance with stepwise regression model. From the regression analysis, the number of soldiers, officers, and ammunition warehouses were selected as the input variables. Seven out of sixteen Ammunition companies were found to be inefficient by the IDEA-BCC model. And using IDEA-Additive model, we could identify the input excess and the output shortfall in reaching at a point on the efficiency frontier.

다단계 데이터베이스 응용의 설계는 복잡한 과정이며, 적절한 모델을 이용하여 개체나 그의 연관 보안 등급을 모호하지 않게 표현해야 한다. 또한, 다단계 데이터 베이스 응용에 대한 의미를 가능한 한 정확하게 파악하는 것도 중요하다. 미보호 데이터 베이스 응용 설계를 위한 IDEA 방법론은 데이터 집약 시스템에 초점을 두고 있기 때문에, 그 객체 모델에서는 응용에 대한 객체의 경직 구조와 그의 관련성을 서술한다. 다시 말해서 IDEA 방법론의 객체 모델은 객체의 정적 서술을 하기 위한 확정돈 개체-관련성 모델이다. IDEA 방법론이 다단계 보인 데이터베이스 응용을 위해 개발되지 않았지만, 기존의 방법론을 활용함으로써 그 방법론에서 개발된 여러 기법들을 이용할 수 있다. 즉, 이 방식은 다단계 보안 스키마를 처음부터 개발하는 것보다더 용이하다. 본 논문에서는 IDEA 방법론의 객체 모델에 보안 특징을 첨가하고, 이 모델을 다단계 보안 객체지형 스키마로의 변환을 제시한다. 이 다단계 보안 스키마는 Informix-Oniline/Secure, Trustrd ORACLE. Sybase Secure SQL Server와 같은 여러 상용 다단계 보안 데이터 베이스 관리 시스템으로 자동 변환하기 위한 일반적인 스킬을 설계하는 예비 연구가 될 것이다.

This paper proposed a quantitative evaluation method to measure the operational effectiveness of the local military manpower administrations. The proposed method compared the relative operational effectiveness level for 12 local military manpower administrations in Korea.. The method used the IDEA (imprecise Data Envelopment Analysis) model which Is able to measure relative operational effectiveness level, and also used two input variables (labor cost, operational cost) and three output variables (number of military applicants, number of civil application approved & processed, management accuracy level). Through the model output analysis, we presented the relative effectiveness scores, the reason for non-effectiveness, and the relationship between non-effective ness level and input/output variables for each local military manpower administration. We also presented a few recommendations how to improve the effectiveness level on particular local military manpower administration.

One proposal is made for constructing nonparametric estimator of slope parameters in a regression model under symmetric error distributions. This estimator is based on the use of idea of Johns for estimating the center of the symmetric distribution together with the idea of regression quantiles and regression trimmed mean. This nonparametric estimator and some other L-estimators are studied by Monte Carlo.

Since the emergence of the Internet, electronic business (e-business) has become one of the most widely investigated issues. E-business is considered to have the potential of generating considerable new values and the capability to transform the rules of competition in unprecedented ways. This study aim to suggest a approach for new business idea creation. This is based on the analysis and manipulation of business method patents. For this end, our research is performed in the following ways. First, business keywords are extracted from business method patents. Second, business model framework which is used to structuralize the business is suggested based on the literature survey. Third, the business keywords are classified into the business model framework. Forth, existing business model is expressed based on the suggested framework. Finally, new business idea is created from the existing business model by adding, subtracting, or substituting the business keywords.

As customer needs become diversified, there are many efforts to develop creative ideas on the products to satisfy the customer requirement. Also it is very important to classify the customer requirement to the product's quality. According to the previous study, the idea of the products by collecting opinions and brainstorming is mainly studied in new product development. To create the attractive quality for the product, Kano model has commonly been used. However, the brainstorming in the stage of create ideas has the problem of lower linkage between purpose and idea and lower quality of new idea. Therefore, the paper suggests a way to invent more creative ideas by comparing forced connection method to the brainstorming that is applied to the Kano model.

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has proven to be a useful tool for assessing efficiency or productivity of organizations which is of vital practical importance in managerial decision making. While DEA assumes exact input and output data, the development of imprecise DEA (IDEA) broadens the scope of applications to efficiency evaluations involving imprecise information which implies various forms of ordinal and bounded data possibly or often occurring in practice. The primary purpose of this article is to characterize the variable efficiency in IDEA. Since DEA describes a pair of primal and dual models, also called envelopment and multiplier models, we can basically consider two IDEA models: One incorporates imprecise data into envelopment model and the other includes the same imprecise data in multiplier model. The issues of rising importance are thus the relationships between the two models and how to solve them. The groundwork we will make includes a duality study which makes it possible to characterize the efficiency solutions from the two models. This also relates to why we take into account the variable efficiency and its bounds in IDEA that some of the published IDEA studies have made. We also present computational aspects of the efficiency bounds and how to interpret the efficiency solutions.
