A well-known difficulty in attitude estimation based on inertial measurement unit (IMU) signals is the occurrence of external acceleration under dynamic motion conditions, as the acceleration significantly degrades the estimation accuracy. Lee et al. (2012) designed a Kalman filter (KF) that could effectively deal with the acceleration issue. Ahmed and Tahir (2017) modified this method by adjusting the acceleration-related covariance matrix because they considered covariance modeling as a pivotal factor in the estimation accuracy. This study investigates the effects of covariance modeling on estimation accuracy in an IMU-based attitude estimation KF. The method proposed by Ahmed and Tahir can be divided into two: one uses the covariance including only diagonal components and the other uses the covariance including both diagonal and off-diagonal components. This paper compares these three methods with respect to the motion condition and the window size, which is required for the methods by Ahmed and Tahir. Experimental results showed that the method proposed by Lee et al. performed the best among the three methods under relatively slow motion conditions, whereas the modified method using the diagonal covariance with a high window size performed the best under relatively fast motion conditions.
Among the formative elements, color and form are the most critical elements that can capture a person's perspective. Companies are concentrating on developing visual perception-oriented products by accommodating the diverse needs of consumers, where the emotional factor plays as an important design consideration. Accordingly, the visual perception reaction of consumers was analyzed through a questionnaire focusing on color and form. The result finds that, when Ernst Gombrich (1909-2001) perceives objects in questionnaires related to personal preferences for color and form, humans do not rely solely on the eyes, but describes with the knowledge diagram through that knowledge. In doing so, the knowledge that we already know plays a part to describe the object. In addition, colors and forms are recognized by combining the social and cultural information experiences of the perceiver with the learned knowledge. In the future studies that define the interrelationships of the formative elements should be continued through the analysis of more complex and clear visual perception characteristics of the formative elements.

As technology convergence is recognized as a driver of innovation, the identification of technology convergence opportunities is critical to expanding a firm's technology portfolio. Recently, wearable technology has emerged as an important factor in creating new business opportunities and providing technology investment alternatives for firms in the era of Industry 4.0. Against this background, this study provides a new patent analysis framework for identifying and proposing technology convergence opportunities in the wearable field. Using 8,621 patents filed between 2011 and 2021, a case study was conducted to identify technological convergence opportunities by applying Word2Vec algorithm. The analysis framework can be divided into four stages, with the final stage recommending potential technology convergence opportunities for a specific candidate firm's technology area by calculating similarities between technology codes. This study aims to better understand the current status of wearable technology development as well as to propose a new methodology for capturing technology convergence opportunities in the wearable industry. The case study result suggests that the convergence of healthcare and ICT may provide new development opportunities. Furthermore, the results are expected to provide alternative perspectives on the development of new markets and technologies using wearable technology and can support the strategic decision-making on future technology planning in the wearable field.

This study aims to analyze the effect of absorptive capacity on technology collaboration performance and the moderating effect of innovation intermediaries. We set absorptive capacity (potential, realized) as independent variables and technology collaboration performance (relative technology level, development period, cost savings, new product development, collaboration satisfaction) as dependent variables, with innovation intermediaries as a moderating variable. We conducted a survey of 145 ICT companies that experienced technology collaboration and analyzed the data using 101 valid responses. The results show that potential absorptive capacity has a significant effect on new product development and collaboration satisfaction, while realized absorptive capacity has a significant effect on relative technology level, cost savings, and new product development. Furthermore, innovation intermediaries have a moderating effect between realized absorptive capacity and new product development. The contribution of this study to academia and industry is that it highlights absorptive capacity as a key factor influencing technology collaboration performance. The limitations of this study include the lack of accurate measurement of absorptive capacity and innovation intermediaries, as well as a lack of control over external factors. These limitations should be addressed through more in-depth research by systematically defining and measuring them in future follow-up studies.

The production and procurement of shipbuilding and offshore equipment is an important competitive factor in the shipbuilding and offshore industry. Recently, ICT-based digital technology has been rapidly applied to the manufacturing industry following the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Under the digital transformation, real-time data interface technology based on SCM (Supply Chain Management) is emerging as an important tool to improve the efficiency of the equipment manufacturing process. In this study, the characteristics and advantages and disadvantages of interface technologies of web-based data interface technologies were compared and analyzed. The performance was compared between theoretical evaluation based on technical features and practical application cases. As a result, it was confirmed that GraphQL is useful for selective data processing, but there is a problem with optimization, and REST API has a problem with receiving data due to a fixed data structure. Therefore, this study aims to suggest ways to utilize and optimize these data interface technologies.

The concrete mix design and compressive strength evaluation are used as basic data for the durability of sustainable structures. However, the recent diversification of mixing factors has created difficulties in calculating the correct mixing factor or setting the reference value concrete mixing design. The purpose of this study is to design a predictive model of bidirectional analysis that calculates the mixing elements of ternary concrete using deep learning, one of the artificial intelligence techniques. For the DNN-based predictive model for calculating the concrete mixing factor, performance evaluation and comparison were performed using a total of 8 models with the number of layers and the number of hidden neurons as variables. The combination calculation result was output. As a result of the model's performance evaluation, an average error rate of about 1.423% for the concrete compressive strength factor was achieved. and an average MAPE error of 8.22% for the prediction of the ternary concrete mixing factor was satisfied. Through comparing the performance evaluation for each structure of the DNN model, the DNN5L-2048 model showed the highest performance for all compounding factors. Using the learned DNN model, the prediction of the ternary concrete formulation table with the required compressive strength of 30 and 50 MPa was carried out. The verification process through the expansion of the data set for learning and a comparison between the actual concrete mix table and the DNN model output concrete mix table is necessary.
Recently the development of ICT has a big impact on education field, and diffusion of smart devices has brought new education paradigm. Since people has an opportunity to use various contents anytime and communicate in an interactive way, the method of learning has changing. In 2011, Korean government has established the smart education promotion plan to be a first mover in the paradigm shift from e-learning to smart learning. Especially, government aimed to improve the quality of learning materials and method in public schools, and also to decrease the high expenditure on private education. However, the achievement of smart education policy has not emerged yet, and the refinement of smart learning policy and strategy is essential at this moment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose the successful strategies for smart learning in public education. First, this study explores the status of public education and smart learning environment in Korea. Then, it derives the key success factors through SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis, and suggests strategic priorities through AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Priority) method. The interview and survey were conducted with total 20 teachers, who works in public schools. As a results, focusing on weakness-threat(WT) strategy is the most prior goal for public education, to activate the smart learning. As sub-factors, promoting the education programs for teachers($W_2$), which is still a weakness, appeared as the most important factor to be improved. The second sub-factor with high priority was an efficient optimizing the capability of new learning method($S_4$), which is a strength of systematic public education environment. The third sub-factor with high priority was the extension of limited government support($T_4$), which could be a threat to other public schools with no financial support. In other words, the results implicate that government institution factors should be considered with high priority to make invisible achievement in smart learning. This study is significant as an initial approach with strategic perspective for public education. While the limitation of this study is that survey and interview were conducted with only teachers. Accordingly, the future study needs to be analyzed in effectiveness and feasibility, by considering perspectives from field experts and policy makers.
The development of ICT brings a big change in manufacturing industries, and new information technology such as IoT, AR, and big data was applied on manufacturing process. As a result, the concept of smart factory has been introduced as a new manufacturing paradigm. In fact advanced countries like USA, Germany, and Japan have actively introduced smart factory in their manufacturing industries such as electronic, automobile, machinery, to improve production efficiency and quality. The manufacturing environment has been changed into flexible system, so that smart factory will be leading future manufacturing industries. Thes changes have more severe influence on Korean manufacturing industries. Mny industrial companies, have a strong interest in smart factory and they, particularly big enterprises, have been adopting smart factory to increase their manufacturing efficiencies. However, Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have many financial and technological difficulties so that the diffusion of smart factory in Korean SMEs has not been satisfiable up to present. However, smart factory is very important for enhancing their competitiveness in global market. Therefore, this study aims at identifying the standardization strategy of smart factory in so-called Korean 'roots industry' by presuming that the standardization will activate the diffusion of smart factory among Korean SMEs. For this purpose, first, this study examines the competitiveness of SMEs, especially in 'roots industry' and identifies the necessity of diffusion of smart factory among those SMEs. Second, based on the active review on the existing literature, this study identifies four factor groups that would influence the adoption or diffusion of standardized smart factory. They are technological, organizational, industrial and policy factors. Third, using those four factors, this study made two comprehensive case analyses on the adoption and diffusion of smart factory. These two companies belong to molding sector which is one of the important six sectors in 'root industry'. Finally, based on the theoretical and empirical analyse, this study suggests four strategies for activating the standardization of smart factory; international standardization, government-leading standardization, firm-leading standardization, and non-standardization.

This paper is about the study to build a quantitative methodology to assess cyber threats and vulnerabilities on control systems. The SCADA system in power industry is one of the most representative and biggest control systems. The SCADA system was originally a local system but it has been extended to wide area as both ICT and power system technologies evolve. Smart Grid is a concept to integrate energy and IT systems, and therefore the existing cyber threats might be infectious to the power system in the integration process. Power system is operated on a real time basis and this could make the power system more vulnerable to the cyber threats. It is a unique characteristic of power systems different from ICT systems. For example, availability is the most critical factor while confidentiality is the one from the CIA triad of IT security. In this context, it is needed to reflect the different characteristics to assess cyber security risks in power systems. Generally, the risk(R) is defined as the multiplication of threat(T), vulnerability(V), and asset(A). This formula is also used for the quantification of the risk, and a conceptual methodology is proposed for the objective in this study.
