The Test of Stochastic Convergence of Environment Emission and Environmental Kuznets Curve Hypothesis in Asian Developing Countries (아시아 국가들 환경오염배출량의 확률수렴성과 환경쿠즈네츠곡선가설 검정)

  • This research applies an panel data stationarity and stochastic convergence test developed by Carrion-i-Silvestre et al. (2005), which has the advantage of considering multiple structural breaks and the presence of cross-section dependence in order to investigate the hypothesis that relative emission $CO_2$ per capita stochastically converge for 11 Asian countries from 1971~2007. We find that relative emission $CO_2$ per capita is stationary after the structural breaks and cross-section dependence are introduced into the model. We also investigate whether Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis exists in 11 Asian countries. For EKC test, using the panel cointegration tests of Banerjee and Carrion-i-Silvestre (2006) and Westerlund and Edgerton(2007), we find that relative emission $CO_2$ per capita and relative GDP per capita are cointegrated. However EKC hypothesis in 11 Asian countries is not supported.

  • From the perspective of the artist who produces modern ornaments, I wanted to see the future of modern ornaments in the hyperconnected era. I would like to find a practical way of converging information communication technology, which is one of them, and applying nfc tag among them. For the practical approach, after looking at the actual examples of commercial ring products using nfc tag technology, I tried to find a practical method that can be applied to modern ornaments produced in the workshop. As a result, two realistic alternatives were drawn: the investment method, which is free to converge, but has limited technical utilization, and an assembly method that requires high convergence from the design planning stage. After then, to know investment methods, have been produced that may have problems with real applications. I made a real sample, not a concept, to explain the technical factors and precautions necessary for applying nfc technology.

Estimation of Noise Level and Edge Preservation for Computed Tomography Images: Comparisons in Iterative Reconstruction

  • Purpose: This study automatically discriminates homogeneous and structure edge regions on computed tomography (CT) images, and it evaluates the noise level and edge preservation ratio (EPR) according to the different types of iterative reconstruction (IR). Methods: The dataset consisted of CT scans of 10 patients reconstructed with filtered back projection (FBP), statistical IR (iDose4), and iterative model-based reconstruction (IMR). Using the 10th and 85th percentiles of the structure coherence feature, homogeneous and structure edge regions were localized. The noise level was estimated using the averages of the standard deviations for five regions of interests (ROIs), and the EPR was calculated as the ratio of standard deviations between homogeneous and structural edge regions on subtraction CT between the FBP and IR. Results: The noise levels were 20.86±1.77 Hounsfield unit (HU), 13.50±1.14 HU, and 7.70±0.46 HU for FBP, iDose4, and IMR, respectively, which indicates that iDose4 and IMR could achieve noise reductions of approximately 35.17% and 62.97%, respectively. The EPR had values of 1.14±0.48 and 1.22±0.51 for iDose4 and IMR, respectively. Conclusions: The iDose4 and IMR algorithms can effectively reduce noise levels while maintaining the anatomical structure. This study suggested automated evaluation measurements of noise levels and EPRs, which are important aspects in CT image quality with patients' cases of FBP, iDose4, and IMR. We expect that the inclusion of other important image quality indices with a greater number of patients' cases will enable the establishment of integrated platforms for monitoring both CT image quality and radiation dose.

Aircraft Velocity and Altitude Estimation through Time Offset Calculation of KOMPSAT-3 Satellite (KOMPSAT-3 위성의 Time Offset 계산을 통한 항공기 속력 및 고도 추정)

  • In this study, a method of estimating the velocity and altitude of aircrafts photographed in a KOMPSAT-3 satellite was proposed. In the proposed method, parallax effect, which is a time offset between bands due to the photographing method of the KOMPSAT-3 satellite, the structure of the sensor, and the movement of the satellite's orbit, was calculated, and in this process, trucks running on the highway were used. In addition, the actual direction and the direction by parallax effect of the aircraft were calculated using the coordinates of the aircraft in the image, and the attitude information of the KOMPSAT-3 satellite was calculated using metadata to estimate the velocity and altitude of the aircraft. The estimated value through the proposed method was compared with the actual value, automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B), and the error rate was calculated here. As a result, it was confirmed that the velocity and altitude error rate of large aircraft (I1, I3, S2) were lower than that of light aircraft (I2, S2), and the estimated velocity and altitude were relatively high in large aircraft using the proposed method.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore in depth and deeply the nature and meaning of the academic experience that married nursing graduate students have experienced in their Convergence roles. Methods: Giorgi(2004) method was used the four-step data analysis procedure following the technological phenomena. Participants were four nursing doctoral students who were involved in work, child-care. and education. Data collection was conducted through two in-depth interviews with participants from October to November 2017. Results: Data analysis was structured into 12 concepts and 5 categories, centered on thinking, feelings, and changes in life for study before and after entering graduate school. The five categories are 'I enjoy flying more than anyone', 'I am different from them', 'A solitary journey toward a dream', 'Family is my strength' and 'I have a dream.' Conclusions: In order to help married nurses improve their professionalism, it is necessary to build a support system for the family, improvement of the organizational culture, and a socially practical support system.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of convergence which is one of the trendy issues as a new digital paradigm of Integrative thinking in 21st century, to analyze the plastic feature and internal meaning of convergence expressed in fashion design, and to grasp the cultural symbolism through this aesthetic analysis. Because there have been considerable discussions on convergence, centering on industrial product area associated with media, I will proceed my study on the basis of them. For this, the documentary study and practical case study have been executed. This study will be helpful to find a direction of future fashion design trend. Convergence in digital stage can be defined as a phenomenon which different functions of product move towards one direction for greater efficiency, and not only as a technical integration between functions of product, but also an extension of area. Convergence can be classified by their use as (1) convergence for convenient daily life (2) convergence with intelligent scientific technology (3) convergence for entertainment on the basis of sensual experience. The plasticity of convergence designs feature as a open dynamic structure which potentiate transformation and their internal meaning can be inquired such qualities as integrative multiplicity, efficiency, mobility, intelligence. Specially convergence fashion design has protection qualify resulting from wearability on body. Ultimately convergence fashion design as a future digital paradigm can be thought as both eco-friendly design and human-centered design from positive technology-based viewpoint, because it is easy to transform according to our environment, convenient to reserve, and efficient to enhance spatial usibility.

Calculation of Mass-Heat Balance on the Iodine Crystallizer for SI Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Process (SI 열화학 수소 생산 공정 요오드 결정화기 열-물질 수지 계산)

  • SI thermochemical hydrogen production process achieves water splitting into hydrogen and oxygen through three chemical reactions. The process is comprised of three sections and one of them is HI decomposition into $H_2$ and $I_2$ called as Section III. The production of $H_2$ included processes involving EED for concentrating a product stream from Section I. Additionally an $I_2$ crystallization would be considered to reduce burden on EED by removing certain amount of $I_2$ out of a process stream prior to EED. In this study, the current thermodynamic model of SI process was briefly described and the calculation results of the applied Electrolytes NRTL model for phase equilibrium calculations was illustrated for ternary systems of Section III. We calculated temperature and heat duty of an $I_2$ crystallizer and heat duty of heaters using UVa model and heat balance equation of simulation tool. The results were expected to be used as operation information in optimizing HI decomposition process and setting up material balance throughout SI process.
