Requirements for device networks differ greatly from those of data(business) networks. Consequently, any control network technology which uses a fieldbus protocol is, in general, different from IP network protocol TCP/IP. One needs to integrate fieldbus protocol and TCP/IP to realize distributed control over IP network or internet. This paper suggests a basic concept that can be applied to distributed control over IP network or internet. Specifically, LonWorks technology that uses LonTalk protocol is reviewed as device network. LonWorks technology provides networked intelligent I/O and controllers which make it a powerful, expandable solution. It is also addressed that many hardwired PLCs can be replaced by LonWorks devices. Connecting these remote LonWorks networks to the Internet can provide a powerful, integrated, distributed control system.

In smart grid system which uses photovoltaic system, fuel cells and so on, a program implemented with C language is used for control and measurement. When using programs implemented with C language GUI is difficult to watch control and monitor the smart grid system. But LabVIEW is a graphical programming language and it is easy to design GUI screen and to manage many variables such as real-time output of electric power including solar cell, wind power system and fuel cell. This paper suggests LabVIEW and C-language TCP/IP communication for smart grid monitoring system i mplemented with C-language.

In the CDMA wireless link, frame errors are correlated and burst because of fading. The implementation ability of RLP error recovery is dependent on the correlated frame errors. The (1,2,3) retransmission scheme, which is recommended as default in IS-707, is not adapted in high frame loss regime with strong correlations. By using the modified error recovery method, where the total number of retransmission attempts is the same and the retransmission is increased, the proposed retransmission scheme can efficiently recover frame errors than the (1,2,3) retransmission scheme. Since the modified scheme has longer transmission delay due to the increase of retransmission round, we propose the algorithm of retransmission failure prediction to improve the modified error recovery scheme. We simulate the modified error recovery scheme applying our algorithm and compare two schemes. (i.e. default scheme by IS-707 and modified scheme) not applying our algorithm. In the result, we show TCP performance improvement is better than default scheme by IS-707.
In astronomical observation, sequential device control and real-time data processing are important to maximize observing efficiency. We have developed series of automatic observing software (KAOS, KHU Automatic Observing Software), e.g. KAOS30 for the 30 inch telescope in the McDonald Observatory and KAOS76 for the 76 cm telescope in the KHAO. The series consist of four packages: the DAP (Data Acquisition Package) for CCD Camera control, the TCP (Telescope Control Package) for telescope control, the AFP (Auto Focus Package) for focusing, and the SMP (Script Mode Package) for automation of sequences. In this poster, we introduce KAOS10 which is being developed for controlling a small telescope such as aperture size of 10 cm. The hardware components are the QHY8pro CCD, the QHY5-II CMOS, the iOptron CEM 25 mount, and the Stellarvue SV102ED telescope. The devices are controlled on ASCOM Platform. In addition to the previous packages (DAP, SMP, TCP), KAOS10 has QLP (Quick Look Package) and astrometry function in the TCP. QHY8pro CCD has RGB Bayer matrix and the QLP transforms RGB images into BVR images in real-time. The TCP includes astrometry function which adjusts the telescope position by comparing the image with a star catalog. In the future, We expect KAOS10 be used on the research of transient objects such as a variable star.

This paper introduces a data storage transport protocol internet Advanced Technology Attachment (iATA) for ATA storage devices that can be accessed over (TCP/IP) networks. As the access speed of Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) type storage is increasing, the importance of sharing the ATA type storages over internet is also increasing. We are proposing a protocol in which we have implemented the basic ATA command set to access the ATA type remote storage devices over the TCP/IP networks. In this paper, we give basic details of the protocol and discuss the existing storage protocols which are mainly used for accessing block storage like internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) Hyper Small Computer System Interface (HyperSCSI) and ATA over Ethernet (AoE).
Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/ HA particles on vertical bone augmentation using titanium mesh in the cranium of rabbits. Materials and methods: Six white rabbits weighing 5kg were used. Four circular grooves of 6mm diameter were made by trephine, and five small holes were drilled in the inner surface of each circular gooves. Different sizes of grafts (small 0.3 - 0.5 mm, medium 0.5 - 1.0, large 1.0 - 2.0 mm) were placed respectively in the experimental groups. Titanium mesh (height 3 mm, width 6 mm) was placed. After 8weeks healing period, the rabbits were euthanized, and the specimens were prepared for histological findings. New bone formation and remaining graft area were measured to calculate the ratio of areas occupying the inner space of titanium mesh. Mann-Whitney U-test and Wilcoxon signed rank-test were used for statistical analysis ($\alpha$ = .05). Results: The experimental groups with $\beta$-TCP/HA graft showed a significantly higher new bone formation (P = .003). Comparing different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/HA, there was no statistical difference in terms of new bone formation. The vertical bone formation (i.e. new bone and graft area) was significantly greater in $\beta$-TCP/HA groups (P = .001). In comparison between different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/HA, medium size group had significantly greater area than large particle size group (P = .039). Conclusion: The use of $\beta$-TCP/HA with titanium mesh showed a higher vertical bone formation, particularly the medium sized $\beta$-TCP/HA particles (0.5 - 1.0 mm) produced better results in vertical bone augmentation.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the histologic results of bone cavities that were surgically created in the calvaria of rabbit and filled with $HA/{\beta}-TCP$ composite powders, which had been developed in Korea (Dentium, Korea). Ten young adult rabbits were used. Four defects were surgically produced in calvaria of each rabbit. Each rabbit was anesthetized with Ketamine-HCI (5 mg/kg, Yuhan Cor. Korea) and Xylazine-HCI (1.5 ml/kg, Yuhan Cor. Korea)). An incision was made to the bony cranium and the periosteum was reflected. Using a trephine bur (external diameter: 8 mm, 3i, USA), 4 'through-and-through' bone defects were created with copious irrigation, and classified into 4 groups: control group: no graft materials, experimental group I: normal saline + graft materials: experimental group II: venous blood + graft materials: experimental group III: graft materials only. The defects were randomly filled with graft materials. The defects were closed with resorbable suture material. At the end of the surgical procedure, all animals received a single intramuscular injection of antibiotics Gentamicin (0.1 mg/kg, Dae Sung Microb. Korea). Rabbits were sacrificed with phentobarbital (100 mg/kg) intravenously at 1-, 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-week after. Specimens were treated with hydrochloric acid decalcifying solution (Fisher Scientific, Tustin, CA) and sectioned by bisecting the 8 mm diameter defects. The histologic specimens were prepared in the general method with H & E staining at 6 ${\mu}m$ in thickness. The results were as follows; 1. New bone formation showed from after 2-week of surgery in defect area. As time lapsed, lots of new bone formation and mature bones showed. 2. Histologically, degree of new bone formation could not be discerned among the experimental groups. But, for experimental group II, lots of cells gathered around graft materials after 1-week of surgery, new bone formed slightly faster and than the others at 1-week after. For experimental group I, a few inflammatory finding showed around graft material at after 1-week and after 2-week of surgery. 3. No bone formation did show for control group. Based on histologic results, the new $HA/{\beta}-TCP$ composite powders appeared to act as a scaffolding material for regeneration of osseous defects.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to delineate the optimal time of venous revascularization for preventing the flap necrosis due to venous occlusion, and to clarify the usefulness of tissue oxygen pressure ($TcpO_2$) in the determination of the point of time for venous revascularization. Methods: Thirty-six, $3{\times}3\;cm$ sized epigastric island flap was elevated in left abdomen of male Sprague-Dawley rat weighing 250 gram. Flaps were randomly assigned to six groups of six flaps according to the duration of venous occlusion with microvascular clamp; 10 minutes in the group I as the control, 60 minutes in the group II, 2 hours in the group III, 3 hours in the group IV, 4 hours in the group V, and 6 hours in the group VI, respectively. Just before removal of clamp after flap was reposed in situ, the ratio of $TcpO_2$ (tissue oxygen pressure) of the island flap to that of right abdomen was calculated in each group, and tissue specimen was harvested from the distal area of the flap for histological evaluation of vascular change. Five days later, survival area of the flap was estimated, and evaluated the correlation between the tissue oxygen pressure and the rate of flap survival. Results: The $TcpO_2$ and the survival rate of flap were decreased proportionally with the duration of venous occlusion. The ratio of the $TcpO_2$ of the flap is decreased abruptly to below sixty percentile compared to the $TcpO_2$ of normal tissue, and the survived area of the flap is decreased to nine-tenth of the designed size after three hours of total venous occlusion. Histologically, the number of congested vessels was increased according to venous occluded time, and proportionally increased after 3-hours of occlusion significantly. Conclusion: There is a close correlation between the $TcpO_2$ and the survival rate of flaps according to the duration of venous occlusion. Therefore, the $TcpO_2$ represents the hemodynamic changes within the flap, and thought to be an alternative effective tool in the flap monitoring for venous revascularization.

Nowadays, numerous of valuable internet services are available not only for personal computer but also for mobile appliances in wireless network environment. Therefore, as the amount of contents is increased for those services, the storage limitation on mobile devices has became a significant issue. In this paper, we present a new block-level storage network protocol, iATA (Internet Advanced Technology Attachment) as a solution to the above problem. iATA is designed to transport ATA block-level data and command over the ubiquitous TCP/IP network. With iATA, a mobile appliance is able to access and control the ATA storage devices natively through network from anywhere and at anytime as if the storage devices is attached locally. We describe the concepts, design and diverse consideration of iATA protocol. Based on the benchmark experiments and application exploitation, we strongly believe that iATA as a light-weight protocol is efficient and cost-effective to be used as a storage network protocol on a resource limited device that utilizes common-off-the-shelf storage hardware and existing IP infrastructure.

iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface) is a block-oriented storage access protocol that enables a user to recognize a remote storage as their own local block device through general TCP/IP networks. Since iSCSI uses a standard ethernet switch and router for this kind of access, it can not only be applied to ethernet technologies, but can also be used to create a storage networking system without any distance restrictions that can equally be applied to a wireless network environment. Accordingly, focusing on this applicability, this paper presents an alternative approach to overcome the limited storage space of mobile devices based on the iSCSI initiator driver, which was originally designed for wired networks. Additionally, its potential with a wireless network is also evaluated.
