  • We performed Principle Component Analysis (PCA) over 264 galaxies in the IRAS Revised Bright Galaxy Sample (Sanders et al., 2003) using 12, 25, 60 and $100{\mu}m$ flux data observed by IRAS and 9, 18, 65, 90 and $140{\mu}m$ flux data observed by AKARI. We found that (i)the first principle component was largely contributed by infrared to visible flux ratio, (ii)the second principal component was largely contributed by the flux ratio between IRAS and AKARI, (iii)the third principle component was largely contributed by infrared colors.

  • In this paper proposed Component Synthesis Algorithm(CSA) for mapping described HDL to RT component of given library. CSA transform I/O variables of HDL and relation of operators to control/data flow graph(CDFG) that consists of graph, reduce the size of graph, compute the cost, the bound, and the method that use compatibility graph(CG), and then mapping to component. Component synthesis used branch-and-bound algorithm. The result that synthesis using CSA algorithm was proved that this result and the cost of the manual were indentified.

  • To obtain breeding materials 57 Korean local corn lines collected were assessed and classified by the application of principal component analysis. The results obtained were as follows. 1. In the result of principal component analysis for 27 characters, 67.1% and 88.6% of total variation could be appreciated by the first four and fir st ten principal component respectively. 2. According to the value of characters and principal components, contribution of characters to principal components were very variable. 3. Biological meaning of the principal component and plant type corresponded to the each principal component were explained clear by the correlation coefficients between principal components and characters. 4. 57 lines were classified into 4 lineal groups by the taxonomic distances.

  • The component method is an analytical approach for investigating the moment-rotation relationship of steel connections. In this study, the component method was improved from two aspects: (i) load analysis of mechanical model; and (ii) combination of spring elements. An optimized component method with more reasonable component models, spring arrangement position, and boundary conditions was developed using finite element analysis. An experimental testing program in two major-axis and two minor-axis connections under symmetrically loading was carried out to verify this method. The initial rotational stiffness obtained from the optimized component method was consistent with the experimental results. It can be concluded that (i) The coupling stiffness between column and beam flanges significantly affects the effective height of the tensile-column web. (ii) The mechanical properties of the bending components were obtained using an equivalent t-stub model considering the bending capacity of bolts. (iii) Using the optimized mechanical components, the initial rotational stiffness was accurately calculated using the spring system. (iv) The characteristics of moment-rotation relationship for beam to column connections were effectively expressed by the SPRING element analysis model using ABAQUS. The calculations are simpler, and the results are accurate.

  • The two-factor nested variance component model with equal numbers in the cells are given by $y_{ijk}\;=\;{\mu}\;+\;A_i\;+\;B_{ij}\;+\;C_{ijk}$ and the confidence intervals for the ratio of variance components, ${\sigma}^{2}_{A}/{\sigma}^{2}_{B}$ are obtained in various forms by many authors. This article shows the probability ranges of these confidence intervals on ${\sigma}^{2}_{A}/{\sigma}^{2}_{B}$ proved by the mathematical computation.

  • In this paper, we consider two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with an internal atomic Josephson junction in the general case, i.e., 0 < p < $\frac{2}{(d-2)^+}$. We prove existence and uniqueness results for the ground states, and obtain some properties of the ground states with large parameters.

  • The h-plot is a graphical technique for displaying the structure of one population's variance-covariance matrix. This follows the mathematical algorithem of the principle component biplot based on the singular value decomposition. But it is known that the singular value decomposition is not resistant, i.e., it is very sensitive to small changes in the input data. In this article, since the mathematical algorithm of the h-plot is equivalent to that of principal component biplot of Choi and Huh (1994), we derive the resistant h-plot.

  • In the three-factor nested variance component model with equal numbers in the cells given by $y_{ijkm} = \mu + A_i + B_{ij} + C_{ijk} + \varepsilon_{ijkm}$, the exact confidence intervals of the variance component of $\sigma^2_A, \sigma^2_B, \sigma^2_C, \sigma^2_{\varepsilon}, \sigma^2_A/\sigma^2_{\varepsilon}, \sigma^2_B/\sigma^2_{\varepsilon}, \sigma^2_C/\sigma^2_{\varepsilon}, \sigma^2_A/\sigma^2_C, \sigma^2_B/\sigma^2_C$ and $\sigma^2_A/\sigma^2_B$ are not found out yet. In this paper approximate lower and upper confidence intervals are presented.
