One of the most efficient techniques improving the heat transfer performance of a diesel electric generation is a corrosion control in jacket cooling water system. The environmental parameters most affecting corrosion are dissolved salt concentration, temperature, and pH of cooling water. No corrosion occurs in carbon steel probe at pH 11 in normal operating condition of diesel electric generation cooling water. pH control agent in this study is trisodium phosphate. pH control appears to be the most convenient way to enhance the thermal performance of a diesel electric generation.
Data from structure/activity studies in vir gene induction system have led to evaluate the working hypothesis of interaction between phenolic inducers and phenol binding proteins. The primary specificity in the association of a phenolic inducer with its receptor in our system is hypothesized to be the hydrogen bonding interactions through the ortho methoxy substituents as well as the proton transfer between the inducer and the binding protein. In this paper the proposed working model for phenol-mediating signal transduction was evaluated in several ways. The importance of the general acid-base catalysis was first addressed by the presence of an acidic residue and a basic residue in the phenol binding protein. Series of compounds were tested for vir gene expression activity to confirm the generation of a strong nucleophile by an acidic residue and an involvement of a basic residue as a proton acceptor. An attempt was made to correlate the pKa values of the phenolic compounds with vir gene induction activities as inducers to further support the proposed proton transfer mechanism. Finally, it was also observed that the regioselectively attached methoxy group on phenol compounds is required as the proper hydrogen bond acceptor.

In recently, annealing process of cold rolled sheet tend to change to continuous annealing process for improving qualify, saving yield. In the meantime as demand for various kind and small lot of products has been increasing, batch annealing has been appreciated for its small restriction for the operation. So, we tested on the effect for a hydrogen contents of atmospheric gas at annealing furnace. As a result of several investigation. We confirmed for the following characteristics ; improved productivity, uniform heating, improved surface quality, saving energy. Therefore, the use of hydrogen instead of nitrogen as the protective gas, combined with high convection in batch annealing furnaces, has shown that considerable increases in furnace output and material quality are attainable. Owing to the low density, high diffusion and reducing character of hydrogen, a better transfer resulting in uniform material temperatures and improved coil surfaces can be achieved.
Theoretical calculations of the combined radiative transfer and statistical equilibrium equation including the charge-particle conservations have been earned out for a multilevel hydrogen atom in quiescent prominences. Cool and dense models show the steep changes of population and radiation field in the vicinity of the surface, while these physical quantities remain unchanged for models with temperature of 7,300K, regardless of total densities. Ionization rate of hydrogen atom related with metallic line formation varies in considerable amounts from the surface to the center of model prominences cooler than 6,300K. However, such cool models cannot release enough hydrogen line emissions to explain observed intensities. Prominence models with a temperature higher than 8,000K can yield the centrally reversed Lyman line profiles confirmed by satellite EUV observations. We find that queiscent prominence with a density between $2{\times}10^{11}$ and $10^{12}cm^{-3}$ should be in temperature range between 6,300K and 8,300K, in order to explain consistently observed H alpha, beta line emissions and $n_p/n_l$ ratio.

Theoretical investigations have been performed for the ground state ($S_0$) and the first excited state ($S_1$) of the hydrogen bonded green fluorescent protein (GFP) model. The potential energy surface (PESs) of $S_0$ was obtained by B3LYP method and that of $S_1$ was obtained by CIS method. Based on the relative stabilities of species and the energy barriers for the proton transfer, it was found that proton transfer could take place both under the ground state and the first excited state. As determined by the proton motions along the reaction coordinate, both the ground state proton transfer (GSPT) and the excited state proton transfer (ESPT) are considered as a concerted and asynchronous process.

The development of hydrogen vehicles has been actively progressed in the developed countries such as U. S., Japan and Germany. The most important technology of using hydrogen fuel is to develope a compatible storage tank with respect to the fossil fuel tank. Among many storage methods, the liquid hydrogen is the most desirable state because of the lowest volume and weight. The metal hydride tank is too heavy and the compressed hydrogen tank is too bulky. Because of these reasons, it is the principal purpose to analyze the theoretical heat transfer for designing and manufacturing an actual $LH_2$ tank. The insulation methods of the room between inner and outer vessel are non-vacuum, vacuum, vacuum with MLI(Multi-Layer Insulation). According to the results of the numerically calculated heat leak through the walls of the $LH_2$ tank, the vacuum insulated tank has 20 times and the MLI tank has 5616 times less heat leak than the non-vacuum tank.
Cryogenic vessels are special equipment that requires periodic evaluation of their thermal insulation performance. At the current standard, the test is considered as the loss product or heat leakage of cryogenic vessel, which takes over 72 h to evaluate; consequently, a large amount of working medium is discharged to the environment in the process. However, hydrogen is flammable and explosive, and the discharged gas may be dangerous. If liquid hydrogen is replaced with liquid nitrogen before testing, the operation then becomes complicated, and the loss product or heat leakage cannot respond to the thermal insulation performance of cryogenic vessels for liquid hydrogen. Therefore, a novel method is proposed to evaluate the heat leakage of cryogenic vessels for liquid hydrogen in self-pressurization. In contrast to the current testing methods, the method proposed in this study does not require discharge or exchange of working medium in all test processes. The proposed method is based on one-dimensional heat transfer analysis of cryogenic vessels, which is verified by experiment. When this method is used to predict the heat leakage, the comparison with the experimental data of the standard method shows that the maximum error of heat leakage is less than 5.0%.

Hydrogen is an eco-friendly energy source and is being actively researched in various fields around the world, including mobility and aerospace. In order to effectively utilize hydrogen energy, it should be used in a liquid state with high energy storage density, but when hydrogen is stored in a liquid state, BOG (boil-off gas) is generated due to the temperature difference with the atmosphere. This should be re-condensed when considering storage efficiency and economy. In particular, large-capacity liquid hydrogen storage tank is required a gaseous helium circulation cooling system that cools by circulating cryogenic refrigerant due to the increase in heat intrusion from external air as the heat transfer area increases and the wide distribution of the gas layer inside the tank. In order to effectively apply the system, thermo-hydraulic analysis through process analysis is required. In this study, the condenser design and system characteristics of a gaseous helium circulation cooling system for BOG recondensation of a liquefied hydrogen storage tank were compared.
Through component regulation and morphological construction, it is of considerable significance to develop high-activity and high-stability electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution in electrolytic water. In the hydrothermal process, Mo-doped nickel-based sulfide catalysts (Mo-NiS-Fx) with a variety of morphologies (prisms, rods, flakes, and cones) were created by adding NH4F with varying masses. Among these, the flaky Mo-NiS-F1.2 exhibited exceptional performance towards electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction, surpassing most similar catalysts with an overpotential of 79 mV at 10 mA cm-2 and a Tafel slope of 49.8 mV dec-1. Significantly, Mo-NiS-F1.2 maintained its high activity for hydrogen evolution over 60 h at a current density of 10 mA cm-2, making it suitable for widespread commercial application. According to the experimental findings, an electrocatalyst with a high surface area and a porous structure is better suited to exposing more gas transfer routes and active sites, which would encourage the hydrogen evolution reaction. This study presents a straightforward procedure for creating electrocatalysts with a range of morphologies, which can serve as a model for the creation of catalysts for use in industrial manufacturing.
