  • A finite-element based approach to socket shape design of a concave piston assembly for a high pressure hydraulic pump of an excavator is presented in this paper. The approach is applied to developing a concave piston assembly which fulfills its strength requirement and it is verified that the predictions are in good agreement with the experiments.

  • This study analyzed a life test method for a power take-off (PTO) gearbox. An engine transfers mechanical power (rotation and torque) to a hydraulic pump through a PTO Gearbox with one input shaft and three output shafts. PTO gear box durability under high loads over long time periods was tested using dynamometers. In order to reflect the rated operating conditions, power must be distributed to each output shaft, and experiments were conducted under various conditions to verify the characteristics of the distributed power. An accelerated life test was designed using speed and torque as acceleration factors. Also, efficiency tests were conducted under various load conditions. Also, a lubrication oil composition analysis was performed to analyze gearbox wear status.

  • Automation of Field Robot has many advantages for efficiency and convenience. In this paper, mathematical equation of field robot is established and automation system is constructed. Hydraulic and Dynamic equation of field robot are constructed in this paper. Inputs of system are angle data from each link (boom, arm, bucket, swing) and pressure data from in, out port of each cylinder. Outputs of system are voltage into electo-proportional valve.

  • The purpose of our sensor system is to transparentize the large hydraulic manipulators of a six-ton dual arm excavator from the operator camera view. Almost 40% of the camera view is blocked by the manipulators. In other words, the operator loses 40% of visual information which might be useful for many manipulator control scenarios such as clearing debris on a disaster site. The proposed method is based on a 3D reconstruction technology. By overlaying the camera image from front top of the cabin with the point cloud data from RGB-D (red, green, blue and depth) cameras placed at the outer side of each manipulator, the manipulator-free camera image can be obtained. Two additional algorithms are proposed to further enhance the productivity of dual arm excavators. First, a color correction algorithm is proposed to cope with the different color distribution of the RGB and RGB-D sensors used on the system. Also, the edge overlay algorithm is proposed. Although the manipulators often limit the operator's view, the visual feedback of the manipulator's configurations or states may be useful to the operator. Thus, the overlay algorithm is proposed to show the edge of the manipulators on the camera image. The experimental results show that the proposed transparentization algorithm helps the operator get information about the environment and objects around the excavator.

굴삭기의 정적/동적 강도 해석법에 대한 연구 (Study on the Static and Dynamic Structural Analysis Procedure of Excavators)

  • This paper presents the improved procedure to assess static and dynamic strength of crawler type excavators. A fully integrated model including front attachment and chassis was prepared for structural analysis. In this paper, two types of loading input methods were investigated and the method imposing digging force directly on bucket tooth was more convenient than imposing cylinder reaction force on cylinder pin even if the two methods showed no discrepancy in analysis results. Static strength analysis was carried out for eight analysis scenarios based on two extreme digging positions, maximum digging reach position and maximum digging force positions. The results from static strength analysis were compared with measured stresses, cylinder pressures and digging forces and showed a good quantitative agreement with measured data. Dynamic strength analysis was carried out for simple reciprocation of boom cylinders. It was recognized that the effect of compressive stiffness of hydraulic oil was very important for dynamic structural behavior. The results from dynamic strength analysis including hydraulic oil stiffness were also compared with measured acceleration data and showed a qualitative agreement with measured data.

  • Many research studies have been carried out related to saving energy and environmental pollution in the field of construction machinery. The best solution for reducing the related environmental pollution is to reduce fuel consumption by upgrading the energy efficiency of machinery used in this field. An efficiency upgrade in the field of construction machinery would mean minimizing the pressure loss in hydraulic pipe lines or achieving optimal operating conditions while responding to a load. One way to achieve this is to make an equivalent circuit, like an electrohydrostatic actuator, or to improve the spool type valve using the 4/3 way method. This study deals with an electrohydraulic proportional flow control valve. SimulationX software is used as a simulation tool for analyzing the dynamic characteristics. The analysis results, including the performance and characteristics of design parameters, are discussed and the validity of the theoretical analysis is also evaluated.

어장작업 개선을 위한 소형 크레인 조작제어장치 개발 (Development of Small Crane Control System to Improve Fishery Operations)

  • 건설현장에서의 포크레인과 같이 어장 작업을 위한 수산작업용 조력기로서 어장관리기가 필수적이다. 기존의 어장관리기의 제어방식이 ON/OFF제어에 기반을 두고 있어 급조작시 집게에 매달린 양식제품이 흔들리는 현상의 문제점이 발생되고 있다. 이는 심할 경우 작업자에게 위협을 하는 경우도 발생되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 흔들림을 감소시킬 수 있는 마이컴 기반의 조작제어장치를 개발한다. 본 논문에서는 어장관리기의 유압제어 특성, 제어기의 설계 방법 그리고 제어 알고리즘 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 제안하는 시스템을 어장관리기에 적용하여 개선 전 후 흔들림의 개선정도의 성능평가를 수행한다.

유압 브레이커의 충격량 예측을 위한 모델링과 해석 (Modeling and Simulation for Predicting the Impact of Hydraulic Breaker)

  • 굴삭기에 부착되는 유압 브레이커는 건물의 파괴 및 분해, 도로 포장재의 파손, 채석장에서의 암석 파단 등에 사용되고 있는 부착작업기의 일종의 건설 장비이다. 따라서 유압브레이커의 성능은 주로 충격량 및 충격 효율에 의해 평가되며, 이는 제조사 및 사용자 모두에게 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 건설 현장에서 주로 사용되는 20톤급 유압브레이커를 대상으로 상용 프로그램인 SimulationX를 사용하여 유압밸브 및 피스톤의 수압 면적 또는 작동 조건에 따라 유압 브레이커의 충격량 예측을 위한 모델링 및 해석을 진행하였다. 또한, 모델링 및 해석의 신뢰성을 확인하기 위하여 기존 실험 연구의 결과를 통하여 비교 및 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 제작 이전의 설계 단계에서 유압 브레이커의 충격량을 예측하고 충격량 향상을 위한 파라미터 연구에 도움이 될 것으로 본다. 또한 제조사 측에서는 본 논문의 결과를 통하여 유압 브레이커의 충격량을 미리 예측함으로서, 시행 착오 방지를 통하여 개발 시간 및 비용을 절감할 수 있을 것으로 예측한다.

사판식 구동모터에 장착된 밸브의 설계변수 민감도 해석 사례 (Shape Design Sensitivity Analysis Case of the Valves installed in the Hydraulic Driving Motor)

  • 본 논문은 컴퓨터 해석프로그램인 SimulationX를 이용하여 굴삭기 주행모터의 내부에서 발생하는 서지압력의 저감 방법에 대하여 분석하는 연구이다. 설계민감도 해석을 통하여 설계상의 문제점을 파악하고 해결책에 접근하는 방법을 다룬다. 진행순서는 다음과 같다. 우선 현재 설계 된 주행모터에 장착된 밸브들의 동적거동을 분석하여 설계의 문제점을 찾아낸다. 그 후 많은 설계변수들 중 동적성능향상에 민감하다고 판단되는 변수를 도출하고 설계치수를 조정하여 동적성능 안정화의 경향을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 민감한 변수가 다수 일 경우 변수조합을 통해 효과적인 튜닝방법을 제안한다.

회전 퀵커플러 안전장치 동작방법 연구 (A study on the operation method of safety device of rotating quick coupler)

  • Excavators are construction machines used for digging soil, transporting soil, dismantling buildings and clearing the ground at construction sites. There are various attachments attached to the arm end of the excavator and used for various operations. There are the most common types of buckets attached for excavation and other types of attachments used for foresting, road cleaning, snow removal, and waste disposal. When multiple types of work are done at the same time, several attachments must be replaced and a device called a quick coupler is used to reduce replacement time. Although a quick coupler reduces the replacement time of the Attachment, it is necessary to attach safety devices to prevent unintentional detachment of attached attachments during the operation. To prevent the attachment from leaving or falling regardless of the operator's intention, support is installed in the hook of the bucket pin and controlled through a separate hydraulic cylinder to ensure safety. When attaching an attachment, it shall be attached without any action. This study is intended to verify the design validity of safety devices to prevent falls of attachments occurring at construction sites.
