Nanoimprint Lithography(NIL) has increasingly been recognized as a key manufacturing technology for nanosized feature. One of the most important task for nanoimprint lithography is to provide the imprinting stamp with low price. The Stamp fabricated with Si based material by e-beam lithography, RIE is extremely expensive and its throughput is very limited and PDMS replica is too soft to hold high imprinting pressure.(>5atm) In this study, we present the imprinting stamp which can be easily replicated from original mold and is based on PVC film. Replication of original Si mold to PVC film was done by Hot embossing technique, ($120^{\circ}C$ of Temperature, 20 atm applied) As small as 100nm patterns were successfully transferred into PVC film. The size of stamp was up to 100mm in diameter.
An UV/thermal hybrid nanoimprint lithography system was designed and implemented for the pattern transfer to flexible substrates. This system can utilize a plate stamp, roll stamp, and film stamp. For all cases of using those stamps, this system is also switchable an UV or thermal nanoimprint lithography mode. This paper shows how to design the heating and UV curing plates and proposes how to change them easily. Because the pressure condition and the speed of the press roller varies by the characteristics of the stamp and substrate, all the parameters related to the nanoimprint lithography have to adjustable. Some transferred patterns are shown in this paper to verify the performance of the hybrid nanoimprint lithography system. The flexible substrates with nano-scale patterns on them will be key components for next generation technologies such as flexible displays, bendable semi-conductors, and solar cells.
Recently, hybrid transactional memory (HyTM) has gained much interest from researchers because it combines the advantages of hardware transactional memory (HTM) and software transactional memory (STM). To provide the concurrency control of transactions, the existing HyTM-based studies use a bloom filter. However, they fail to overcome the typical false positive errors of a bloom filter. Though the existing studies use a global lock, the efficiency of global lock-based memory allocation is significantly low in multi-core environment. In this paper, we propose an efficient hybrid transactional memory scheme using near-optimal retry computation and sophisticated memory management in order to efficiently process transactions in multi-core environment. First, we propose a near-optimal retry computation algorithm that provides an efficient HTM configuration using machine learning algorithms, according to the characteristic of a given workload. Second, we provide an efficient concurrency control for transactions in different environments by using a sophisticated bloom filter. Third, we propose a memory management scheme being optimized for the CPU cache line, in order to provide a fast transaction processing. Finally, it is shown from our performance evaluation that our HyTM scheme achieves up to 2.5 times better performance by using the Stanford transactional applications for multi-processing (STAMP) benchmarks than the state-of-the-art algorithms.
As electric vehicles (EV) have increasingly replaced the conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE), most of automotive makers are actively devoting to the technology development of EV parts. Accordingly, the manufacturing process for power source has been also shifting from engine/transmission to EV motor/reducer system. However, lack of experience in developing the EV motor still remains as a technical challenge. In this paper, we employed the forming simulation based on finite element modeling to solve this problem. In particular, in order to increase the accuracy of the forming simulation, we introduced the elastic-plastic constitutive model parameters for polymer-copper hybrid wire by investigating the individual strain-stress curves, and elastic modulus of polymer and copper. Then, the reliability of modeling procedure was confirmed by comparing the simulated results with experiments. Finally, the identified mechanical properties and finite element modeling were applied to a hairpin forming process, which involves multiple deformation paths such as bending, pressing, widening, and twisting. The proposed numerical approach can replace common experience or experiment based trials by reducing production time and cost in the future.
