A Simple Strategy for Sensorless Speed Control for an IPMSM During Startup and Over Wide Speed Range

  • This paper presents a hybrid sensorless control for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for zero-, low-, and high-speed regions. Many sensorless control methods such as an observer-based estimator have been introduced. However, most of the observer-based estimators have a disadvantage at start-up and in the low-speed region. To solve this problem, a simple strategy of using a hybrid system is proposed by integrating a high-frequency (HF) signal injection method and a full-order flux observer. In addition, an HF signal injection method with only a low pass filter (LPF) is proposed to simplify the hybrid system. The hybrid system achieves high-performance drive throughout the entire speed range. The effectiveness of the proposed hybrid technique is verified by experiments using an 11-kW IPMSM drive system.

  • This paper deals with the design and modal characteristics analysis of a drive-train for a paralleltype hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The function of the drive-train system (DTS) in the HEV combines or divides the torque and velocity from the internal combustion engine along with the induction motor. The system consists of a compound planetary gear and unit's electromagnetic clutch to provide the operation modes such as Engine Only (EO), Electric Vehicle (EV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) modes. In order to investigate the characteristics of the velocity and torque flow for the system, dynamic models of the HEV with DTS are derived from the prototype DTS. The performance of the derived dynamic models is evaluated by both computer simulations and experiments according to each mode.

  • 최근 고성능의 SSD(Solid State Drive)가 등장하면서 단일노드의 입출력 성능이 대폭 상향되었다. 이에 SSD를 기반으로 하는 차세대 저장장치 플랫폼이 주목을 받게 되었고, 고속 연산이 필요한 서버 또는 데이터 센터 등에서 SSD 기반 저장장치를 구축하는 시도가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 SSD는 단위용량당 비용이 고가이기 때문에, SSD 기반 저장장치를 구성하기에는 아직 어려움이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문은 저가와 큰 용량이 장점인 HDD(Hard Disk Drive)와 SSD가 통합된 저장장치에서 파일을 관리하는 소프트웨어 HyPLVM(Hybrid Priority Logical Volume Manager)을 소개한다. HyPLVM은 사용자가 접근하는 파일, 디렉터리를 분석하여 파일에 우선순위를 부여하고, 이 우선순위 값에 따라 높으면 SSD에, 낮으면 HDD에 저장되도록 관리한다. 이로써, 접근빈도가 많은 파일에 한에서 SSD로 구성된 저장장치와 버금가는 입출력 성능을 산출하면서 저장장치 구축비용을 절감한다.

하이브리드형 선형 펄스 모터와 마이크로스텝 드라이버 설계 (A Design of Hybrid Type Linear Pulse Motor and Microstep Driver)

  • In this paper we designed a prototype hybrid type linear pulse motor (HLPM) with single side stator structure for low cost. The measurement system which can get the motor characteristics of the HLPM was suggested. The static and dynamic characteristics of the thrust force are measured analyzed. And the microstep drive method is adopted and tested to the drive of prototype HLPM. The thrust waveform is measured respectively to know the differences of the thrust waveform between the microstep drive method and rectangular wave. From the experimental results, it can be confirmed that the repetitive ripple of the thrust force of the prototype HLPM is reduced by taking the microstep drive method.

  • This paper describe the dynamic equation of Linear Pulse Motor(LPM)and the method of microstep drive and newly proposed control method for Linear Pulse Motor(LPM). A microstep drive is generally used for the high resolution positioning system. But high thrust distortion and imbalance in LPM make torque ripple that cause position error in microstep drive. In this paper the new control method is proposed and applied to hybrid LPM which is made by KERI. In the experimental results. it is shown the validity of the proposed control scheme.

하이브리드 하드디스크를 위한 효율적인 선반입 기법 (Effecient Prefetching Scheme for Hybrid Hard Disk)

  • 하이브리드 하드디스크(Hybrid hard disk drive: H-HDD)가 SSD(Solid state drive)에 비해 경쟁력을 갖기 위해서는 저전력, 읽기 속도가 핵심 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 H-HDD에 장착되어 있는 비휘발성 메모리에 디스크 블록을 선반입하여 저전력과 응답시간을 향상시킬 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법의 핵심은 시스템파일이나 자주 사용되는 파일은 파일단위로 캐싱하고 나머지는 블록단위로 선반입한다. 선반입은 디스크 큐를 서비스하고 남은 여유 시간에 우선순위가 높은 블록부터 실행되며 이때 사용되는 우선순위는 시간적, 지역적 지역성을 동시에 고려하여 결정된다. 실험 결과 제안 기법은 기존 기법에 비해 전력소모가 낮고 응답시간이 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

A Vector-Controlled PMSM Drive with a Continually On-Line Learning Hybrid Neural-Network Model-Following Speed Controller

  • A high-performance robust hybrid speed controller for a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive with an on-line trained neural-network model-following controller (NNMFC) is proposed. The robust hybrid controller is a two-degrees-of-freedom (2DOF) integral plus proportional & rate feedback (I-PD) with neural-network model-following (NNMF) speed controller (2DOF I-PD NNMFC). The robust controller combines the merits of the 2DOF I-PD controller and the NNMF controller to regulate the speed of a PMSM drive. First, a systematic mathematical procedure is derived to calculate the parameters of the synchronous d-q axes PI current controllers and the 2DOF I-PD speed controller according to the required specifications for the PMSM drive system. Then, the resulting closed loop transfer function of the PMSM drive system including the current control loop is used as the reference model. In addition to the 200F I-PD controller, a neural-network model-following controller whose weights are trained on-line is designed to realize high dynamic performance in disturbance rejection and tracking characteristics. According to the model-following error between the outputs of the reference model and the PMSM drive system, the NNMFC generates an adaptive control signal which is added to the 2DOF I-PD speed controller output to attain robust model-following characteristics under different operating conditions regardless of parameter variations and load disturbances. A computer simulation is developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed 200F I-PD NNMF controller. The results confirm that the proposed 2DOF I-PO NNMF speed controller produces rapid, robust performance and accurate response to the reference model regardless of load disturbances or PMSM parameter variations.

직렬형 하이브리드 자동차에서의 폐열 회수에 대한 연구 (Study on the Heat Recovery System in Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In recent, there are tremendous requirements to improve the fuel economy of vehicle. For satisfaction of requirements, Hybrid Electric Vehicle or other technologies are suggested and implemented. However, it should be noted that almost 35% energy loss is occurred in the shape of exhaust gas as ever. For increase the efficiency of vehicle, it is certain that the exhaust gas energy should be recover, and generate energy. In previous studies, the technologies such as turbo-compound, thermoelectric and rankine cycle are suggested to recover the exhaust heat energy in vehicle. But, they focus on the conventional vehicle or parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle has advantage that the engine and drive shaft are de-coupled. It means that the engine can be operated in high efficiency area regardless with vehicle states. Therefore, if rankine cycle is applied to series hybrid electric vehicle, operating condition of that becomes almost steady. So, in this study, theoretical analysis on the efficiency of rankine cycle applied to series hybrid electric city bus is carried and the energy recovered from exhaust gas during vehicle drive cycle is calculated.

자작형 하이브리드카의 제작 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture and Control of a Self Manufacturing Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.
