BLOCS: 블록 상관관계를 인지하는 시퀀스 패턴 마이닝 기반 하이브리드 스토리지 캐슁 알고리즘 (BLOCS: Block Correlation Aware Sequential Pattern Mining based Caching Algorithm for Hybrid Storages)

  • 본 논문은 SSD를 캐쉬로 사용하는 하이브리드 저장장치에서 캐쉬에 저장할 데이터를 찾기 위한 BLOCS 기법을 제안한다. 시퀀스 패턴 마이닝을 사용하는 BLOCS 기법은 파일시스템에서 호출하는 섹터들의 연관성을 발생한 순서를 고려하여 빈번히 요청되는 섹터들의 집합을 생성한다. 비교 분석을 위해 탐색거리(DIST) 기반 기법과 요청 빈도(FREQ) 기반 기법 그리고 빈도와 크기의 곱(F-S) 기반 기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 캐슁 기법을 평가하기 위해 하이브리드 캐슁 시뮬레이터를 개발하여 적중률과 응답시간 정보를 얻는다. 부팅 시 발생하는 I/O의 흐름자료와 10개의 응용프로그램들의 실행 시나리오에서 발생한 I/O 흐름자료를 수집하여 캐쉬 시뮬레이터의 입력으로 사용하였다. 실험 결과 부팅 흐름자료에서 제안한 BLOCS 기법이 61%의 적중률을 나타내서 적중률이 가장 낮았던 거리 우선 기반 기법에 비해 15% 더 높은 적중률을 보였다.

Comparing the performance of two hybrid deterministic/Monte Carlo transport codes in shielding calculations of a spent fuel storage cask

  • This study systematically compared two hybrid deterministic/Monte Carlo transport codes, ADVANTG/MCNP and MAVRIC, in solving a difficult shielding problem for a real-world spent fuel storage cask. Both hybrid codes were developed based on the consistent adjoint driven importance sampling (CADIS) methodology but with different implementations. The dose rate distributions on the cask surface were of primary interest and their predicted results were compared with each other and with a straightforward MCNP calculation as a baseline case. Forward-Weighted CADIS was applied for optimization toward uniform statistical uncertainties for all tallies on the cask surface. Both ADVANTG/MCNP and MAVRIC achieved substantial improvements in overall computational efficiencies, especially for gamma-ray transport. Compared with the continuous-energy ADVANTG/MCNP calculations, the coarse-group MAVRIC calculations underestimated the neutron dose rates on the cask's side surface by an approximate factor of two and slightly overestimated the dose rates on the cask's top and side surfaces for fuel gamma and hardware gamma sources because of the impact of multigroup approximation. The fine-group MAVRIC calculations improved to a certain extent and the addition of continuous-energy treatment to the Monte Carlo code in the latest MAVRIC sequence greatly reduced these discrepancies. For the two continuous-energy calculations of ADVANTG/MCNP and MAVRIC, a remaining difference of approximately 30% between the neutron dose rates on the cask's side surface resulted from inconsistent use of thermal scattering treatment of hydrogen in concrete.

가변 유압 펌프/모터를 이용한 유압 제어 시스템의 에너지 절감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Energy Saving Hydraulic Control System using Variable Displacement Hydraulic Pump/Motor)

  • This paper proposes a flywheel hybrid vehicle to solve the energy crisis problem by the exhaustion of a fossil fuel and air pollution for the conservation of environment. The proposed flywheel hybrid vehicle is composed of an accumulator and a flywheel as the energy generation and storage component and three variable displacement hydraulic pump/motors as the energy transfer devices. Flywheel has the characteristics of high energy density and easy energy absorption and consumption. The effectiveness of the energy-saving of the proposed flywheel hybrid vehicle is verified by simulation using Matlab/simulink. First of ail, analytical modeling for the flywheel hybrid vehicle is presented and simulations are performed based on the experimental efficiency data of a variable displacement pump/motor. The results of the simulation show that the effect of energy savings is realized by the proposed hybrid vehicle in 3 different city driving patterns.

  • This paper presents the determination method of the hybrid energy storage capacity for compensating the output of wind power when disconnecting from the grid. In the wind power output compensation, a lot of charging and discharging time with lithium-ion battery will be deteriorated the life time. And also, this fluctuation will cause some problems of the power quality and power system stability. To solve these kind of problems, many researchers in the world have been studied with BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) in the wind farm. But, BESS has the limitation of its output during very short term period, this means that it is difficult to compensate the very short term output of wind farm. Using the EDLC (Electric Double Layer Capacitor), it is possible to solve the problem. Installing the battery system in the wind farm, it will be possible to decrease the total capacity of BESS consisting of HESS (Hybrid Energy Storage System). This paper shows simulation results when not only BESS is connected to wind farm but also to HESS. To verify the proposed system, results of computer simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC program with actual output data of wind farms of Jeju Island will be presented.

  • 아연금속-공기전지는 기존의 이차전지보다 높은 중량당 에너지 밀도, 낮은 제조단가를 가짐과 동시에 소재적으로 친환경적이다. 소형 및 중대형 전력 저장 시스템, 전기자동차, 스마트 휴대기기의 상용화에 있어 최우선시 되고 있는 것은 배터리의 충 방전 능이다. 따라서 환원 촉매의 높은 과전압, 산화 전극의 불안정성 및 비가역성, 액체 전해질 사용에 따른 여러 문제점을 해결하여야 한다. 본 총설에서는 공기극 막의 손상 방지 기술, 아연금속 전극의 구조 개선을 통한 충전효율 저하 방지 기술, 부반응 및 부동태화를 막기 위한 하이브리드 전해질 도입 등의 최근 기술적 이슈와 연구동향을 소개하고자 한다.

Effects of Storage Environmental Conditions on Weight Loss, Whiteness Change, and Microbial Activity of Mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus)

  • The effects of storage temperature and high relative humidity (RH) on the weight loss, color change, and microbial activity of a mushroom ('Sylvan' hybrid white) were investigated. The experiment was performed at three temperature (5, 10 and $15^{\circ}C$) and four different relative humidity levels (91, 94, 97 and 99%). The weight loss of the tested samples had a highly correlated linear relationship with storage time at each RH level during storage. Both the storage temperature and RH levels in the experiment had signigicant effects (p<0.05) on the weight-loss rate of the tested samples. The loss whiteness of mushrooms was not significantly affected (p>0.05) by RH ranges at the same temperature. No visible damage was caused by either bacteria or fungi in all samples during storage.

Preparation and Characteristics of Li4Ti5O12 Anode Material for Hybrid Supercapacitor

  • Spinel-$Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was successfully synthesized by a solid-phase method at 800, 850, and $900^{\circ}C$ according to the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ cubic spinel phase structure. To achieve higher EDLC energy density with the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$, the negative electrode of the hybrid supercapacitor was studied in this work. The electrochemical performances of the hybrid supercapacitor and EDLC were characterized by constant current discharge curves, c-rate, and cycle performance testing. The capacitance (1st cycle) of the hybrid supercapacitor and EDLC was 209 and 109 F, respectively, which is higher than EDLC. The capacitance of the hybrid supercapacitor decreases from 209 F to 101 F after 20 cycles when discharged at several specific current densities ranging from 1 to 10 A. In contrast, capacitance of the EDLC hardly decreases after 20 cycles. Results show that hybrid supercapacitor benefits from the high rate capability of supercapacitor and high capacity of the battery. Findings also prove that the hybrid supercapacitor is an energy storage device where the supercapacitor and the Li ion secondary battery coexist in one cell system.

비상용 디젤동기발전시스템기반 독립운전 하이브리드에너지시스템 모델 설정 및 시뮬레이션 분석에 관한 연구 (Simulation Analysis and Development of Matlab/Simulink Model for Stand-alone Operation of Emergency Diesel Synchronous Generator-based Hybrid Energy System)

  • In this paper, enhanced stand-alone operation and development of Matlab/Simulink model of emergency diesel based hybrid energy system is presented. Simulations based on the remote community or islands were performed for PV-diesel-battery hybrid system. Modeling of PV-diesel-battery integrated system is done to perform under the solar radiation and load conditions on Matlab/Simulink platform. The models of diesel generator unit, battery energy storage system, PV and frequency-power control are developed and simulation studies have been carried out under various conditions using Matlab/Simulink and SimPowerSystem. It is demonstrated that the proposed system can provide reliable and good quality power to the customers in diesel synchronous generator-based hybrid energy systems.

Power Control modeling and Simulation of Hybrid Power System for Building Microgrid Connected Application

  • In this paper, we propose to study the possibility of using a photovoltaic system combined with a high speed micro-turbine. This hybrid system can work as stand-alone system or grid connected system as it will be a part of a micro-grid. Initially, we propose Matlab/Simulink dynamic models of photovoltaic, micro turbine systems and supercapacitor. Then, we carry out a simulation comparison of the two systems, this is, with supercapacitor and without supercapacitor bank. We show that supercapacitor bank as short-term storage device was necessary to reduce the fast fluctuation of power in the case of sensitive loads. It is verified the simulation results of Matlab/Simulink based hybrid power system represent the effectiveness of the suggested hybrid power system.
