Objective : To broaden understanding about relationship between Meridian Tendino-musculature and muscles in a lumbar area and to evaluate the effect of Meridian Tendino-musculature acupuncture and release therapy on acute lumbar sprain. Materials and Methods : From Oct. 1st, 2000 to Mar. 31th, 2001, 692 outpatient's chart of Kyung Won University Hospital were reviewed. Out of them, 39 outpatients were selected. they had low back pain, were diagnosed with acute lumbar sprain, showed only straightened curvature on lateral view of lumbar spine X-ray and get the Tendino-musculature acupuncture and release therapy. Results : 1. On patients' first visit, 72% had GrIII and Gr.IV predominantly. 2. Major muscles related with low back pain were divided into two groups. One was Quadratus lumborum group and the other was Rectus abdominis group. In the correlation with Meridian Tendino-musculature, the former was mainly related with Chok-taeyang(B) and slightly related with Chok-soyang(G), Chok-taeum(SP), the latter was mainly related with Chok-taeyum(SP), Chok-yangmyong(S) and slightly related with Chok-taeyang(B), Chok-soyang(G). 3. In the evaluation of treatment effect, Exellent was 27(69%), Good was 10(6%), Fair was 2(5%) and Bad was 0(0%). Fair rate reached 100% eventually. 4. Most of Gr.Ⅲ, Gr.Ⅳ patients who had severe conditions that almost every R.O.M. was limited and Milgram test positive was shown on the physical examination, were fully recovered and lived normal daily life without admission by Meridian Tendino-musculature acupuncture and release therapy within 3 to 5, 4 to 7 days, respectively, since they had started to get their outpatient treatment. 5. Two patients was troubled with pain induced, by twitching response and acupuncure stimuli, which lasted around acupunctured muscle for about a day after treatment, so they coudn't endure the pain and quitted treatment in spite of Fair condition. conclusion : Meridian Tendino-musculature acupuncture and release therapy was found to be helpful to patients who wish to recover from their back pain induced by acute lumbar sprain as soon as possible, but the treatment actually had some problems to be overcome such as pain during or after the treatment. therefor, in order to make this treatment method more available, we should pay more attention to improving treatment appliance and acupuncture technique.

Objective : This study was to report a clinical trial in which acupuncture treatmnt on 會陰(Huiyin, CV1) was effectively applied to a patient who had suffered from teasing pruritus ani for 38 years. pruritus ani was thought to be initiated by dystonia. Methods : The acupoint, 會陰(Huiyin, CV1) was selected, because needling on perineal muscles was mainly used to alleviate pelvic pain or pruritus ani in the light of MPS(Myofascial Pain Syndrome) theory, on which 會陰(Huiyin, CV1) was located and also had pelvic pain and pruritus ani in its indications. On the acupoint, the following maneuver was used. (1) Make a patient stand and bend forward (2) Insert a needle on 會陰(Huiyin, CV1) (3) Repeat lifting and pushing (4) Draw a needle immediately without retaining needle on the acupoint Results : The patient with Pruritus ani recovered after above treatment two times and had no recurrence up to Feb. 2001. Conclusion : In this study, Needling on 會陰(Huiyin, CV1) proved to be effective in the aspect of MPS and acupuncture treatment as well, but more clinical trials are expected to follow this study.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of acupuncture, moxibustion and whuallak-tang on acute back pain and liver function. Methods : We investigated 34 acute back pain patients. We treated them with acupuncture, moxibustion and bed rest, herbal medicine (Whuallak-tang, Huoluo-tang, 活絡湯) and physical therapy and we observed clinical effects and checked the changes of AST,ALT,ALP on admission and 1week later. Results : The result obtained is as follows. The patients were 58.8% male and 41.2% female ranging in age from 29 to 76 years. after treatment, of the 34 cases, 10(29.4%) were obtained excellent results and 23(67.7%) were good, and 1(2.9%) case was obtained fair result, with the total effective rate being 97.1%. AST,ALT,ALP was within normal range on admission and 1week later. and AST and ALP were decreased but had no statically significance.(P>0.05) Conclusion : This study suggests that acupuncture, moxibustion and Whuallak-tang are effective on acute back pain and should not induce hepatotoxicity. even though there are few toxic herbs in Oriental medicine, acupuncture and general herbal medication by a oriental doctor should not injure liver function of human.

The Acanthopanax genus belonging to the Araliaceae family is widely used as a traditional medicine having tonic and sedative effects. For the quality control of Acanthopanacis Cortex, lignan compound, acanthoside D, was isolated from the MeOH extract of Acanthopanax sessiliforum Seeman. (Araliaceae) and identified by the spectroscopic analysis. A quantitative analysis of acanthoside D using HPLC method showed that the average contents were $0.081{\pm}0.058%$ in 39 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

During the plate and foil cold rolling process, considerable values of the force of material pressure on the tool occur. These pressures cause the elastic deformation of the roll, thus changing the shape of the deformation legion. Rolled copper foils should be characterized by a good quality and light dimensional tolerances. Because of automation that is commonly implemented in flat product rolling mills, these products should meet the requirements of tightened tolerances, particularly strip thickness, and feature the greatest possible flatness. The shape of the roll gap is influenced by the elastic deformation of rolls parts of the rolling process affecter of the pressure force. However, to control roll deformation should be difficult. Because the foil thickness is very thin and the permissible deviations in the thickness of foil are small. In this paper, FE-simulation of roll deformation in thin foil cold roiling process is presented.

In case of producing image map by using the color aerial photograph, DEM makes on huge effects to the accuracy of ortho image. Thus, this paper has the purpose that evaluate the accuracy of DEM acquired by matching the color aerial photograph. At the study, result of color aerial photograph's control point surveying was X=${\pm}$0.14m, f=${\pm}$0.16m. Estimated result by DEM of plot-map and matching has RMSE=${\pm}$1.058m for the elevation(Z). For matching DEM has a minor(-)'s value, it can access that produce by high point than plot-map DEM.

The surface flames in porous ceramic burner are experimentally characterized to investigate the effects of equivalence ratio and firing rates. The results show that the surface flames are classified into green, red radiant and blue surface flame as the decrease of equivalence ratio. And each flame is maintained very stable and represents the same flame characteristics at any orientation of ceramic burner. Particularly the blue surface flame is found to be very stable at very lean equivalence ratio at 7000kcal/hr to 20000kcal/hr firing rates. And the exhausted NOx was analysed to find out which flame has lower NOx emission. The blue surface flame shows the lowest NOx emission regardless of the location of burner since it sustains very stable at lean mixture ratio.

This paper describes our design of a contents distribution framework that supports transparent distribution of digital contents on the Internet as well as copyright protection of participants in the contents distribution value chain. Copyright protection must ensure that participants in the distribution channel get the royalties due to them and that purchasers use the contents according to usage rules. It must also prevent illegal draining of digital contents. To design a contents distribution framework satisfying the above requirements, we first present four digital contents distribution models. On the basis of the suggested distribution models, we designed a contract system for distribution of royalties among participants in the contents distribution channel, a license mechanism for enforcement of contents usage to purchasers, and both a packaging mechanism and a secure client system for prevention of illegal draining of digital contents.

A new and efficient synthetic approach is reported for biologically interesting prenylated chalcones, 4'-Omethylxanthohumol (3), xanthohumol E (4), and sericone (5) from 2,4,6-trihydroxyacetophenone. The strategies involve the introduction of a prenyl group onto an aryl ring, benzopyran formation, and basecatalyzed aldol reactions.
