This research aims to integrate study results through a meta-analysis of previous studies on the variables related with social support for female marriage immigrants. Based on the results, this study established the foundation of an integrated social support system for female marriage immigrants which considers both the functional perspective and structural perspective of social support, and suggested plans for an efficient support system. All social support was positively associated with female marriage immigrants marriage life, child-rearing behavior and attitude, reduction of stress and depression and psychological stability. In relation to the effect size of each variable related with all social support, the marriage variable had the biggest relationship with it, followed by the parenting variable, the psychological variable and the stress variable in that order. With reference to the relationship with related variables according to the sub-domain of social support, from the structural perspective, spousale support showed a high relationship with the marriage variable and the stress variable. It was also especially, very highly related with the marriage variable. In addition, a married woman's family support and expert support had an intermediate relationship with the marriage variable, and the husband's family support and friend support had a low relationship with it. From the functional perspective, material support had a very high relationship with the marriage variable, whereas it had a low relationship with the stress variable and the psychological variable. Emotional support was also highly related with marriage variable, but showed an intermediate or low relationship with the psychological variable and the stress variable. On the other hand, informational support displayed an intermediate relationship with the stress variable and the psychological variable, and a high relationship with the marriage variable. Lastly, evaluative support had a high relationship with the marriage variable and the psychological variable. Based on these results, this study proposed plans for an integrated social support system as follows. First, education ought to be provided for the spouses, and support for marital adjustment should be offered. Second, there plans should be made for continuous bonding with the family of origin, and support should be given to address changes in awareness of the relationship with the husband's parents. Third, it is required to revitalize the local community and self-help groups, and provide the female marriage immigrants with opportunities to participate in social activities.
Due to the changes of modern society, alternative types of nuclear family so called as commuting family have appeared. Also, with the increase of women's economic participation and their needs of self-actualization, dual-career commuting family have increased. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there is any difference between the traditional commuting family and dual-career commuting family in terms of family relation, types of child-care and social support. Also, this study qualitatively analysed parenting-guilty of the mothers of commuting family. One eight seven mothers of three to eight year-old participated the survey. The main results were as follows : (1) In case of traditional commuting family, children cohabit with the mother and usually fathers move between two houses. But among the dual-career commuting family, there are some children who cohabit with the father and some mothers who move. Dual-career commuting family relied on the more types of child-care than traditional commuting family. (2) While traditional commuting family get more support for child-rearing from the husband's family of origin than dual-career commuting family, wife's family of origin provide more support to the dual-career commuting family. The more support the husband's family of origin provide, the more stress both types of commuting family experience. However, there was no significant relationship between the support from the wife's family of origin or friends and the stress of the mothers of both types of commuting family. (3) Mothers of two types of commuting families were different regarding the motives of parenting-guilty Difficulty of caring the children for their job as well as father-absentness makes mothers of dual-career commuting family feel parenting-guilty more.
This study seeks to determine how personality patterns on marital adjustment are influenced by interacting with conflict resolution styles. Data for this study were collected from intermarriage couples comprising 293 pairs (586 patients) who lived in Korea for at least 5years. Snowball sampling was carried out from August to October 2011. SPSS 18.0 was used to analyze the collected data. The results of this study are as follows: (a) The conscientiousness and openness of personality patterns turned out to be common personality factors that represent a positive affect on the intermarried couples' effort to adapt. (b) The extroversions, agreeableness, and neuroticism shown significantly increase and decrease the intermarried husband's marital adjustment, but the same did not have a significant influence on the intermarried wife's marital adjustment. (c) Factors that affect marital adjustment, the conflict resolution styles of intermarriage couples showed different results depending on the gender. (d) The Intermarried wife's personality patterns represented a positive affect on her marital adjustment by interacting with her husband's conflict resolution styles, while the intermarried husband's personality patterns represented a positive affect on his marital adjustment by interacting with his wife's conflict resolution styles. The implications of this study will be discussed in the conclusion.
The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the child care support and job satisfaction of married women employed outside home. The data for this study were collected from a survey of 350 married women employed outside home who were residing in North Cholla Province. Major fimding are summarized in the following. First, many married women were pressured by the burdens child rearing(54.5%) and houshold chores(39.6%). Second, the daycare arrangements for children under age seven were diverse. Just under half of the children were cared for by the employed mother'parents(25.1%), or by the mother's parents-in law(21.1%). The rest were sent to daycare center(40.6%), cared for by a hired helper(7.6%), or sent to an industrial on- site daycare center(1.0%). Third, about half of the married employed mothers(47.5%) wished for an on-site daycare service at their workplace. Fourth, the variables that affected employed mothers job satisfaction were age, job, husband's job type, the income of the mother, the reason of the mother's employment, the degree of husband's houshold labor participation, and the type of social and employer's support for chid care.
Purposes: The purposes of this descriptive survey study were to describe levels of Maternal-Fetal Interaction Belief and Maternal-Fetal Interaction, and to define their correlation. Method: Data were collected from 273 pregnant women who visited one public health center and OB/GY clinic in Gangneung city. The instrument used for this study was a self-report questionnaire that included the Maternal-Fetal Interaction Belief scale(MFIBS) and maternal-fetal interaction. Results: The mean scores for maternal-fetal interaction belief and maternal-fetal interaction were $107.41{\pm}15.67$ and $31.75{\pm}5.92$ respectively. For maternal-fetal interaction belief, there were significant differences according to education, religion, income, feeding plan, marriage satisfaction, family support, and husband's love. For maternal-fetal interaction, there were significant differences according to mother's age, period of pregnancy, marriage satisfaction, family support, husband's love. There was a correlation between maternal-fetal interaction belief and maternal-fetal interaction. Conclusion: Maternal-fetal interaction belief is related to increase in maternal-fetal interaction and fetal development. It is essential to develop a maternal-fetal interaction program that includes maternal-fetal interaction belief.
The purposes of the study was to identify the depression of women after a hysterectomy and to clarify the factors related to depression. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The data was collected by a mailed questionnaire that was composed of the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS), support scale of husband and socio-demographic variables from 255 women undergoing hysterectomies for any nonmalignant condition in S. University Hospital. They also must have lived with their spouses from 3 months to 2 years after the operation. The results were as follows: 1. The SDS mean was 42.25 and range was 21 to 67. The incidence of clinical depression (over SDS 50) was 20.8% from 3 months to 2 years after a hysterectomy. 2. The depression of women in 18-24 months after surgery (39.80) was lower than that of any other periods such as 3-5 months, 6-12 months, and 13-17 months (p<0.01). 3. The support form husband was negatively correlated with the depression of women after a hysterectomy. 4. Depression among women tho had hysterectomies were associated with lower income, less sexual satisfaction, the feeling of being asexual, and the bias of concept the uterus controlling general health.
The purposes of this descriptive survey study were to describe antenatal depression and level of mother-fetal interaction, and to assess mother's behavior and feeling during mother-fetal interaction, in order to develop a base for nursing intervention programs for mothers who have antenatal depression. Method: Data were collected from 174 pregnant women who visited one public health center and OBGY clinic in Gangneung city. The instrument used for this study was a self-report questionnaire to identify depression (BDI), and mother-fetal interaction. Results: Of the mothers 63.2% were in the normal range for antenatal depression, 21.3% in the mild group and 15.5% were in the moderate to severe group. For antenatal depression, there were significant differences among the income, planned pregnant, health status, marriage satisfaction, family support, husband's love. The mean for mother-fetal interaction was $29.88{\pm}4.91$. For mother-infant interaction, there were significant differences in education, income, pregnant number, delivery number, feeding plan, marriage satisfaction, family support, husband's love. There was a weak correlations between antenatal depression and mother-fetal interaction but it did not reach statistical significance. Conclusion: Antenatal depression and mother-fetal interaction influence fetal development. It is essential to assess and provide immediate care to mothers who have antenatal depression and lower level mother-fetal Interaction.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of social support on the role conflicts and marital satisfaction of dual-career commuting couples. Ninety-three dual-career commuting couples were participated in this study. The results were as follows: (1) Wives received more informational support than their husband. Wives also received more support from their family of origin. (2) For wives, instrumental support from their family of origin and friends reduced their role conflicts. (3) For both wives and husbands, wives family of origin played most important role among social network. (4) Social support from friends and colleagues had significant effects on role conflicts and marital satisfaction of dual-career commuting couples.
The purposes of this study were to examine the social support network of married middle-aged women and its effects on the life satisfaction. The data were obtained through 395 middle-aged women living in Kwangju and Chonnam. The major findings were as follows. 1. Married middle-aged women mostly received companionable support and they were intimate with friends and family members of orientation obviously. 2. The life satisfaction of married middle-aged women was significantly influenced by emotional support from wife's family members of orientation, contact frequency with husband's family members of orientation, emotional support from their friends and intimacy with wife's family members of orientation.

The purpose of this study was to examine the variables which account for grandchildren caregivers' subjective well-being. The subjects of this research were 100 grandmothers who are currently caring for grandchildren. The instruments used for this study were 'Job Content Questionnaire' by Karasek(1979), 'Family Support Inventory for Worker' by King, Mattimore, King, & Adams(1995), 'Social Support Scale' by Park(1985) and 'Psychological Positive Functioning' by Ryff(1989). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations and hierarchical multiple regression. The major results of this study are as follows; First, grandchildren caregiving's demand level was negatively related to grandmothers' subjective well-being, but it's control and support level were positively related to them. Second, the variables that explained grandchildren caregivers' sutjective well-being were their marital status, income, material reward, and family support. When they had a husband, the more money they had, and with more rewards for caregiving plus family support given, the more positive subjective well-being they had.
