The purpose of this study was to develop a housing choice behavior program to cultivate housing value orientation among middle-school students. The importance of cultivating housing value orientation in middle school was examined by investigating the relationship between housing value orientation and housing choice behavior, following which a program was developed to cultivate housing value orientation based on various housing values. Housing choice behavior was defined as selecting the ownership type, housing type, housing size, and neighborhood environment of housing, and the program was developed in 12 sessions to understand housing values and cultivate housing value orientation through learning housing choice behavior. The features of this program were as follows. First, although housing choice behavior is not covered in middle-school home economics, the 2015 revised national curriculum and current middle-school textbooks were analyzed and developed in consideration of the level available in schools. Second, it was possible to develop a housing value orientation that encompasses various housing values, including activities used to consider such values as the basis for housing choice behavior by each sessions. Third, the program was meaningful in that it developed practical problem-solving and living independence skills through learning activities, including available sites, experience cases, and housing welfare that cannot be experienced directly or indirectly.
This study was intended to analyze the pro-environmental housing consciousness and behavior of housewives in Ulsan, Korea, according to their socioeconomic characteristics and other variables. The sample consisted of 175 housewives living in Ulsan, with descriptive analyses and multiple regressions used to analyze the aforementioned data. In general, the respondents showed high levels of pro-environmental housing consciousness and behavior. The results of the analyses indicated that the experiences of environmental education, recognition of the environment in general and pro-environmental housing consciousness were significant explanatory variables of the actual pro-environmental housing behavior. This implies that the provisions of education and information relating to the overall environment including pro-environmental housing should be emphasized.
This study examined one room(studio apartment) residential deweller's housing behavior and housing need, and the relationship between the sense of housing values and housing satisfaction of one-room residence, The study surveyed 302 one-room residents in Busan city. The researcher modified, complimented, and used the previous researches on housing values and housing satisfaction. The analysis of the data used SPSS Win 10.0 program. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: 1. The motive of choosing one-room residence was mainly the closeness to the school or work, Jeonse(Rent with a one-room deposit) was more common than ownership, and the size is one-room residence was 10 to 15 Pyeong. 2. Among the five housing values of one-room residence dwellers, that is, amenity, indoor and outdoor environment, economy/convenience, convenience in transportation, and the interior functionality, the convenience in transportation was ranked highest, and the indoor and out door environment and economy/convenience followed. 3. The housing satisfaction of one-room residents was highest in location, and also high in the safety and the security or privacy, and the convenience of inside facility.
The purpose of this study was analyzed that the house purchasing behavior had on influence on the housing value and the life-style factors. For this purpose, the data were collected by using questionnaire distributed to 251. The data were analyzed by Factor Analysis, Pearson's Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The major findings of this research were as follow: 1. The housing value factors were classified into condition of location, safety, esthetic, economic and prestige and human relation and approach. The housing life-style factors were classified into ostentation. 2. The house purchasing behavior were correlated with the housing value and the life-style factors. 3. The house purchasing behavior had an influence on the housing value and the life-style factors.
This study attempts to find out the characteristic of apartment housing sales information and housing choice behavior according to housing location. For this purpose, the apartment housing sales information in newspaper advertising was investigated and analyzed by advertising appeals to clarify the phenomenon of apartment housing sales and the components of home environmental quality according to housing location in Pusan. Then the field survey has been carried out based on 176 households living in Pusan. The major findings are as follows: 1) The components of home environment through AAs were divided into three categories of appeals: residential area, site area and dwelling unit area. 2) Apartment housing developments were differentiated according to period of development and occupancy scales according to housing location. 3) The results of field survey showed users' housing location. 4) The characteristics of apartment housing sales information according to housing location were revealed those characteristic were concentrated on the category of residential area than site area or dwelling unit area. But in housing choice behavior, the characteristics of housing location appeared in all categories of home environment. Therefore, for better apartment housing development and planning, the characteristics of housing location need to be considered more actively.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the using behavior of the balcony space in apartment housing for improving apartment balcony as dwelling space. For that, it is needed to identify the practical meaning of balcony space as function so balcony expansion and the using behavior of balcony space were investigated and analyzed. For this study, survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection. The major findings were as followings: 1) Balcony expansion mainly occurred in balcony of livingroom and bedroom. Balcony expansion showed several phases according to the type of plan and function of balcony space and few residents chose expansion of all balconies. 2) The using behavior of balcony space was categorized by these various functions of balconies. It was also related to unit-plan type of apartment housing. These results can provide improvement guidelines for the balcony with the differentiation of design factors for residents.
The purpose of the study is to suggest the amount of space for each behavior according to the classification of behavior in the housing to plan the optimal floor space of the elderly housing. The method for calculating space for behavior begins with classifying behaviors, identifying them and then taking pictures of the model of elderly people who reproduce each behavior. Based on the pictures, body parts which are necessary for each behavior are assembled and the formula for behavioral space is created. The space for behavior is produced considering the body dimensions of Korean elderly in their sixty's as well as the furniture size and the psychological distance between people. 3D modeling is used to verify the result. Human behaviors can be classified into individual-related, housework-related, family-related, reception-related and other behaviors. These five behaviors are subdivided into more specific behaviors. The area for each specific behavior is calculated with the anthropometric data of the elderly, preferred furniture dimension and psychological area. The statistical methods used in the survey research are factor analysis, chi square test, and multivariate analysis with crosstablulations. According to the human ecological approach, ecological environments are important sources of consumer needs which , in turn, are satisfied by purchasing behavior in the market. Within this theoretical framework, consumers con improve the quality to life by perceving clearly what their needs are thereby making the most possible efficient purchasing decision making. The major findings of the empirical research on the basis of the theoretical framework are as follows; 1) Housing needs significantly vary with different ecological environment. 2) consumer information search behavior does not differ significantly by housing needs. 3) Housing needs turn out to be an intervening variable between ecological environments and consumer information search behavior. the results of this study show that the human ecological approach is useful in consumer behavior studies. The empirical result that consumer needs are not significantly satisfied by consumer behavior suggests a now direction in consumer education.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the housing affordability of multi-family dwelling in Seoul and to systemize the housing expenditure patterns and housing affordability according to household and housing characteristics. Housing expenditures are basically composed of the payments of four major items. including utilities. home alteration and interior furnishing. home mortgage debt. and monthly rent. Housing affordability index as operationally defined in this study is Housing Expenditure-to-Income Ratio (HEIR). The ratios were computed for each of the four housing expenditure items. Data for 465 multi-family dwellers were gathered from the structured questionnaire. The results showed the differences between household and housing characteristics on housing expenditure levels and HEIR. In addition. this differences had influence on future housing choice behavior. The analysis on the variables of housing choice behavior showed the result that user cost considering capital gains were less important. comparing those of early 1990's.
To evaluate the effect of different housing systems on sow behavior, 80 gilts were randomly allocated at puberty to four treatments: i) sow stall in gestation followed by farrowing crate (SC), ii) group housing with individual feeding in gestation followed by farrowing crate (GC), iii) ESF (Electronic Sow Feeding) system in gestation followed by farrowing crate (EC), and iv) ESF system followed by group farrowing pen (EG). Behavioral observations were carried out on a total of 16 animals per treatment at the following stages: first day of allocation to housing treatment, day of service, 80 days after service, 109 days after service on entry to farrowing accommodation, 24 h before farrowing, day of farrowing, 14, 27 and 28 days after farrowing, at weaning. On each occasion, individual animals were observed for a 24 period with one minute time sampling. There were significant differences (p<0.001) between stages of the reproductive cycle for all the behavior patterns in all treatments. On the first day in experimental housing treatments, sows spent more time rooting and dog-sitting. Activity and investigatory behavior decreased as pregnancy progressed. An activity peak was apparent just before farrowing, followed by a high level of inactivity on the day of farrowing. Time spent active, eating and drinking increased as lactation progressed, and greatest activity and locomotion was seen immediately following weaning. There were significant differences between housing treatments (p<0.01) for standing, moving, eating, drinking, dog-sitting and lying. During pregnancy SC sows spent more time standing, rooting, drinking and dog sitting, while EC sows spent less time rooting and drinking and more time lying. During lactation, GC sows spent more time standing, moving and eating, less time dog sitting and lateral lying. Nursing frequency was reduced in GC sows (p<0.001). The maternal and piglet behaviors were influenced strongly by environment during lactation. However, it was also shown that previous housing history can influence the maternal behavior in the pre-farrowing stage and during early lactation.
