나노유체의 열전도율 측정을 위한 새로운 비정상열선법 센서설계와 자료처리방법 (Development of a New Sensor and Data Processing Method in Transient Hot-wire Technique for Nanofluid)

  • A fine hot-wire is used both as a heating element and a temperature sensor in transient hot-wire method. The traditional sensor system is unnecessarily big so that it takes large fluid volume to measure the thermal conductivity. To dramatically reduce this fluid volume, a new sensor fabrication and a data processing method are proposed in this article. Contrast to the conventional and most popular two wire sensor, the new sensor system is made up of divided multiple long and short wires. Through validation experiments, it is found that the measured thermal conductivities of the glycerin are exactly same each other between the conventional and proposed new method. Also some technical considerations in arranging the multiple wires are briefly discussed.

열선 유속계에 대한 유체 온도의 보정 (The Correction of Fluid Temperature for Hot-wire Anemometer)

  • This paper reports by simple method that is quickly corrected the effects of fluid temperature for the hot wire anemometer. We are concerned with a variable output of hot wire anemometer on arbitrary fluid temperature. Hot wire by measuring boundary layer of turbulent flow has been calibrated by arbitrary temperature lower than 10$0^{\circ}C$, and velocity lower than 20m/s. As a result, we could pick up the temperature factor affected by output of hot wire anemometer from related in output of arbitrary temperature to output of room temperature. By using temperature factor on the output of hot wire anemometer, we also obtained that the relationship of velocity was of no effect by temperature of fluids. About results of calibrated hot wire, uncertainly of velocity is 2.15% at room temperature and 3.1% at arbitrary temperature.

전기장판 열선 결함에 의한 전기화재 원인분석 (Fire Cause Analysis on Electric Pad Due to Defect of Hot Wires)

  • This paper describes electrical fire on electric pad caused by defect of hot wires. We analyzed two type electric pad using by carbon type hot wire and magnetic shielded type hot wire. First, a carbon type hot wires electric pad is virtually impossible to connect hot wire as a method of electrical welding or soldering. In order to connect between hot wires, that has to splice carbon type material connector. If junction of hot wires was occurrence of poor connection on electric pad, it increase contact resistance on this junction point. With increasing contact resistance, junction of hot wires on electric pad generates local heating and finally leads to electrical fire. An electric pad using by a magnetic shielded type hot wire happened local heating on signal wire for sensing temperature-rise caused by applying current for magnetic shielded. With increasing local heating of signal wire, insulated coating of hot wire was melted. Finally the magnetic shielded type hot wire electric pad lead to electrical fire with breakdown between signal wire and hot wire. In this paper, we analyzed shape of damage in hot wire caused by electrical local heating and investigated fire cause on electric pad due to defect of hot wires.

온도보상을 고려한 열선형 공기유량 측정시스템에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on hot-wire type air flow rate measurement system considering ambient temperature compensations)

  • The purpose of this study is to perform modelings and experiments to measure air flow rate using hot-wires and a CTA(Constant Temperature Anemometer). The flow rate can be obtained by measuring the heat loss of the hot-wire due to the variations of flow velocity when the hot-wire is maintained at uniform temperature. But the defect of this method is that the output signal changes not only by the flow rate but also by the ambient temperature. Thus, in the present study, a method which compensates the variations of the ambient temperature has been introduced to measure exact flow rate. To be more specific, the bridge circuit of the usual hot-wire anemometer system has been modified in such a way that a temperature resistance sensor and a variable resistance are placed in one of the legs to compensate the different temperature coefficients of both the hot-wire and the temperature compensating resistance for flow velocity or for flow mass up to the flow temperature of 50 .deg.C. Comparing the modeling and experimental results, it has been shown that the compensating point differs as the flow rate varies. Therefore, optimum compensation points are sought to construct the circuit. The present modeling and experimental results may be applied to the design of actual air flow meters for automobiles.

삼직교 열선유속계의 간편한 측정법 개발 (Development of Easy Measurement Method of Orthogonal Triple-Sensor Hot-Wire Anemometer)

  • Easy measurement method of orthogonal triple-sensor hot-wire anemometer is developed. Advantages of the new method is that it does not require either the exact orthogonality of the installed wires which cannot be kept during the probe manufacture and repair, nor the knowledge of the wire installation angles and the yaw and pitch coefficient of the wires. The new method introduced yaw and pitch calibration coefficients which are designed to increase monotonically with yaw and pitch angles. So the resulting calibration network is simple to recognize compared with that of the previously suggested calibration method. Verification experiments showed good accuracy and independency of the directional calibration on velocity.

비정상열선법에서 열선의 절연코팅이 선형구간의 초기시점에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Insulation Coating on Start Time of Linear Region for Transient Hot-wire Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 절연된 열선을 이용한 비정상열선법에서 열선의 절연코팅이 선형구간의 초기시점에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 이론적인 연구를 수행해 보았다. 이를 위해, 절연된 열선의 온도상승에 관한 해석적 해에서 선형구간의 초기시점에 영향을 미치는 중요한 인자들을 파악해 보았으며, 이러한 인자들의 영향이 무시할 만큼 작아지는 임계시간(critical time)에 대한 연구를 수행해 보았다. 이론적인 연구 결과, 열선의 반경 및 코팅의 두께가 작을수록 절연코팅의 영향이 빠르게 감소하였고, 또한 절연물질의 열전도도가 크고 열확산계수가 작을수록 절연코팅의 영향이 빠르게 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 절연된 열선을 이용한 비정상열선법에서, 선형구간의 초기시점을 결정하는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

열선에 사용되는 새로운 요각함수의 제안 (Proposition of a new yaw function for the use of hot wire)

  • Conventional yaw functions are compared with actual response of a hot wire to various yaw angles, and a new function is proposed, which can be applied at large yaw angles and low velocities. To compare the accuracy of the new yaw function with those of the conventional ones, measurements are made for the jet flow at the nozzle exit and at .chi./D=15 with an X hot-wire probe. In the potential core, the flow angles reduced by the present function, ideal angle method and full velocity-angle method are shown to be more accurate than those reduced by the cosine function and Hinze's formula. No matter which yaw functions are used, the profiles of mean velocity and turbulence intensity show little discrepancy at .chi./D=15. However, there is a significant difference between the probability density functions obtained by the present function, ideal angle method and full velocity-angle method and those obtained by the cosine function and Hinze's formula.

Bead Formation and Wire Temperature Distribution during Ultra-high-speed GTA Welding Using Pulse-heated Hot-wire

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the melting phenomenon of filler wire in detail and to obtain the precise temperature distribution of filler wire during GTA welding under the ultra-high welding speed condition in order to develop the ultra-high-speed GTA welding process with the pulse-heated hot-wire system by using three kinds of materials. The melting phenomenon of filler wire was observed using a high-speed camera and the temperature distribution of filler wire was measured using a radiation thermometer. From the above result, the adequate welding conditions of each material to make the GTA welding process with the ultra-high welding speed could be obtained. The ultra-high-speed GTA welding process needed the adequate wire current in order to obtain the adequate temperature distribution and the adequate melting position of filler wire. Moreover, the temperature distributions of three kinds of filler wire could be estimated by using the proposed simple estimation method.

  • 본 연구에서는 X형 프로우브에 Mojolla의 방법을 적용하였으며, 경사프로우브 에는 프로우브의 경사각도와 회전각도에 따른 속도성분과 출력전압과의 관계를 유도하 여 적용하였으며, 이들 방법에 의한 3차원 유동계측의 정확성과 적용법위를 조사하였 다.
