The oral administration of deer horn extract was proved to cause a considerable amelioration to the impairment of hepatic oxidative phosphorylation and to the decrease of ATP content in liver tissue induced by cholesterol ingestion. Deer horn extract was shown to accelerate considerably incorporation of acetate-1-C$^{14}$ into cholesterol in liver tissue and it tends to restore a decrease of GOT activity of liver tissue, caused by cholesterol administration. Histological examination showed that deer horn extract had a remarkable preventive effect against fatty infiltration of organs such as liver, heart, spleen, and adrenal gland of cholesterol given rabbits.

Measurement of optical flow is a core problem of matching through the analysis of image sequences. In this paper, horn's and anandan's techniques are analyzed to derive a better technique for matching. Experimental results show that Horn's technique has low accuracy in measuring the velocity of optical flow while anandan's technique has poor performaance for diverging images. Based upon this observation, a new technique for the measurement of optical flow is proposed.

In recent booming up of the ship building market, the supplying of large scale casting is difficult to keep the delivery schedule for ship yard because of the restrict manufacturer in Korea. And also, it is main cause to rise-up the cost of castings. This paper describes the outline of guidance of optimizing design for Rudder Horn Casting to reduce the risk of the delivery problem to ship yard.

Influence of deer horn on serum cholesterol level as well as growth rate of experimental cholesterol-fed rabbit were observed. The cholesterol level rose progressively in all cholesterol-fed rabbit and only after 17th day of experiment, cholesterol-level in animal treated with deer horn significantly increased at much lower rate than control group. Above results suggested that deer horn might decrease the abnormally elevated serum cholesterol.

Insulator strings can be frequently damaged by fault currents occured by lightning strokes, overvoltages and contamination of the insulators. So the Insulator damages may lead to extensive damages to transmission lines as well as power outages that have caused dangerous situations to occur. This paper suggests the characteristics of arcing horn in relation to the protection of insulators and basic design concepts of the arcing horn for transmission lines.

This paper describes Ka-band antenna performance analysis of COMS satellite. The key parameters of the antenna system are optimal antenna diameter, feed horn type and horn size, F/D, and the coordinate of offset horns. The paper deals with the method to determine design core parameters of optimal antenna diameter, feed horn type and horn size, F/D, and the coordinate of offset horns, and the performances of design result.

Design methods are presented for a broadband corrugated horn antenna operating X/Ku band (7.25-14.5 CHz). The corrugated horn consists of a circular waveguide taper, a mode converter, a waveguide-to-horn transition, and a hem section. Methods of design are presented for each section. The designed antenna shows excellent characteristics over the entire operating frequency range.

Six kinds of free amino acids, leucine, methionine, threonine, lysine, histidine and aspartic acid were found by using partition paper chromatography from water extract of deer horn which is widely used as tonic drug. The results shows that deer horn does not contain any specific free amino acid.

국립한글박물관 소장 덕온공주 집안 서대는 2019년 국립한글박물관 특별전시를 위해 소장처의 의뢰로 응급처리를 실시하게 되었다. 처리의 목적은 전시를 위한 원형유지가 우선이었으며, 서대는 훼손이 심하여 형태복원 및 탈락된 띠돈의 고정이 필요했다. 처리 전 서대의 이론적 연구를 통해 구조의 명칭, 시대에 따른 형태의 변화 등을 살펴보아, 보존처리의 방향 및 계획을 수립하는데 기초로 삼았다. 품대 중 서대는 1품의 품계를 가진 사람이 사용하는 품대로 왕의 옥대 다음으로 귀하게 여겨졌던 품대이다. 서대를 장식하는 무소뿔[서각]은 품질에 따라 3가지 양식의 무늬로 구분되는데, 그 중 주변으로 작은 원형의 흑갈색 무늬가 중앙에 밀집한 모습으로 포도문과 유사한 양식으로 고급품에 속하는 질 좋은 서대임을 추정할 수 있다. 또한 버클이 없는 일체형 구조이며, 각이 진 방형의 품대로 19세기 이후 주로 착용되는 품대의 형태와 동일한 것으로 확인 하였다. 이후 보존처리를 시행하는 과정에서 서대의 구조를 확인하여 제작방식을 파악하였으며, 유물과 초상화 자료와의 비교를 통해 시대에 따라 변화되는 서대의 형태적 특징, 그리고 세부 구조 등을 살펴서 보존처리 대상 유물이 19~20세기 제작된 서대의 특징이 나타나고 있음을 한번 더 확인할 수 있었다.

본 연구에서는 자왜형 초음파 트랜스듀서의 도파봉을 이론적으로 해석하고 그 타당성을 유한요소 해석법으로 검증하였으며 두 해석법의 결과는 서로 잘 일치하였다. 본 연구에서 유도한 이론적 해석법은 유한요소 해석법에 비해서 빠른 시간 내에 주어진 주파수를 만족시키는 도파봉 길이를 결정할 수 있는 반면, 차단 주파수 (cut-off frequency)를 넘어서는 범위에서만 해석이 가능하다는 단점을 가진다. 해석결과 현수선 도파봉 (catenoidal horn)이 지수함수 도파봉 (exponential horn)에 비해서 더 큰 변위 증폭을 가져왔고, 현수선 형상 길이가 짧을수록 더욱 큰 변위로 증폭시킬 수 있었다. 해석 결과를 바탕으로 공기중에서 공진 주파수 20.8 ㎑를 가지는 자왜형 초음파 트랜스듀서를 제작하여 성능을 측정하였다. 자왜형 트랜스듀서는 수중에서 19.3㎑의 공진 주파수와 199 dB의 최대 SPL (Sound Pressure Level)을 가지고 무지향성의 특성을 보였다.
