Hopper lens type WDM 설계 및 제작 연구 (A Study on the Design and Production of Hopper Lens Type WDM)

  • 최근 광섬유를 이용한센서, 센서 시스템, 초고속 광통신에 의해 응용이 빠른 속도로 발전함으로서 이에 따라 광 결합기와 관련된 WDM소자의 수요가 급증해왔다. 본 연구에서는 국내최초로 Hopper type WDM(특허등록번호:10-1502954)을 설계 및 제작 하였다. 제작된 Hopper type WDM은 비대칭 버트 결합 광학계구조의 초고속 광통신용 쌍방향 $1{\times}3$ WDM 이다. 제작된 Hopper type WDM은 사용중심 파장이 각 각 850nm, 1300nm, 1550nm 이다. Hopper type WDM은 기존의 WDM이 지니고 있는 우수한 장점들을 지니고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 초고속 신호전송과 경제성이 우수하여 실용화에 큰 장점을 지니고 있다. 제작된 Hopper type WDM의 특성은 기존 $1{\times}3$ 광 커플러에 비하여 광 삽입손실이 평균 0.02~0.03dB정도 우수하다. 특히, 초고속 광 MUX 전송 시스템에 적용하여 실용화를 기대할 수 있고, 아울러 광섬유 센서 시스템 구성부품으로 응용되어 고감도 신호 검출 시스템으로 발전될 수 있다.

진공흡입노즐식 파종기의 종자함 진동이 파종성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Seed Hopper Vibration on the Seeding Performance of the Vacuum Suction Nozzle Seeder)

  • The seeding rates of the vacuum suction nozzle seeders are affected by the jumping height of the seeds on the vibrating seed hopper. This study was performed to investigate the optimum vibration condition of the seed hopper on the vacuum suction nozzle seeder for improving seeding performance. Experiments were carried out to determine the vibration conditions of the seed hopper by air pressure and eccentric weight, and to optimize the seed-pickup performance of each nozzle by suction pressure. As the result with the experiments, the fluctuations of the jumping height of the seeds were showed at amplitude 0.4 mm and frequency 42 Hz, and jumping heights of the seeds were increased as the air pressure increase and the eccentric weight decrease, regardless number of seeds of the hopper. The best seeding rate of the seed hopper was 98% at the 300-seed cell, when the condition of the seed hopper was the suction air pressure of 94.6 kPa-abs., amplitude and frequency of the seed hopper vibration were at 0.57 mm and 43.6 Hz, respectively. The optimum vibrating conditions of the seed hopper were decided into frequency 43.6-43.8 Hz and the amplitudes 0.61-0.62 mm.

Hopper type WDM을 이용한 단일모드 FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating)음향센서 트랜스듀서 개발연구 (A Study on The transducer of acoustic sensor to be Single-mode FBG using Hopper Type WDM be in the Making)

  • 최근 국내에서 개발된 광섬유 격자소자(FBG: Fiber Bragg Grating)를 이용하여, 3종의 Hopper type WDM FBG Acoustic Transducer를 설계 및 제작 하였다. 제작된 3종류의 Hopper type WDM FBG Acoustic Transducer는 기존의 광섬유 센서가 지니고 있는 우수한 장점들을 지니고 있을 뿐만 아니라, sensor arm 구성이 간단하여 실용화에 큰 장점을 지니고 있다. 제작된 3종류의 Hopper type WDM FBG Acoustic Transducer 는 주파수 특성이 10 Hz~18 kHz 대역에서 음파 검출이 가능하였고, 트랜스듀서의 최적 공진 조건을 이용하여 최대 8.6 m 거리까지 신호 검출이 가능하였다. 특히, 기존의 음향 센서를 대신하여 전기적 잡음이 많고, 열악한 환경에서 저 주파수 신호 검출에 실용화를 기대할 수 있고, 센서 어레이(array)시스템 구성을 통하여 고감도 및 다중점 음파 검출 시스템으로 발전될 수 있다.

호퍼준설선의 투기특성 (Disposal Characteristics of Dredged Material from the Hopper Dredger)

  • Hydraulic dredgers(Hopper dredger) are the most important piece of equipment in the entire harbor engineering field, and most suitable for the removal of sand and weakly consloidated sediment such as silt. In maintenance dredging, specially confined harbor or congested passage area, Hopper dredger is user most popularly because less obstruction and danger to navigation than other mostly stationary dredgers. Investigation of the physical behave of dredged material disposal in coastal water from the Hopper dredger includes estimations of pattern as well as thickness of material on the bottom. Calculation based on vertical settling and horizontal advection of single particles ignore the effects of bulk properties of the disposed marterial, vertical and horizontal diffusion. and material dilution due to the entrainment of ambient water during descent. This paper focuses on the analysis of dredging and dumping characteristics and the spatial and temporal changes in the dumping fields for the water column and bottom at a hypothetically confined coastal water. This model accounts the behavior of material after release from the hopper dredger. It is shown that the model describes the qualitative feature of prototype dumping process and its response.

Development of a Hopper-Type Planting Device for a Walk-Behind Hand-Tractor-Powered Vegetable Transplanter

  • Purpose: In order to ensure that vegetable seedlings (with a soil block around their roots) are planted in an upright orientation after metering in a vegetable transplanter, they need to be dropped freely from a certain height. The walk-behind hand-tractor-powered machines do not have sufficient space to drop the seedlings from that height. In the present work, a hopper-type planting device was developed for the walk-behind hand-tractor-powered vegetable transplanter to ensure that the soil block seedlings are planted in an upright orientation. Methods: Various dimensionless terms were developed based on the dimensional analysis approach, and their effect on the planting of soil block seedlings in an upright orientation (planting efficiency) was studied. The optimum design dimensions of the hopper-type planting device were identified by the Taguchi method of optimization. Results: The ratio of the height of free fall to the sliding distance of the seedling on the surface of the hopper had the highest influence on planting efficiency. The planting efficiency was highest for plants with a height $15{\pm}2cm$. The plant handling Froude number, in interaction with the design of the hopper-type planting device, also significantly affected the planting efficiency. Of the hopper design factors, the length of the slide of the seedlings on the surface of the hopper was most important, and induced sufficient velocity and rotation to cause the seedling to fall in an upright orientation. An evaluation of the performance of the planting device under actual field conditions revealed that the planting efficiency of the developed planting device was more than 97.5%. Conclusions: As the seedlings were fed to the metering device manually, an increase in planting rate increased missed plantings. The planting device can be adopted for any vegetable transplanter in which the seedlings are allowed to drop freely from the metering device.

단일모드 FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating)을 이용한 Hopper type WDM 개발과 저주파수 수중음향 센서연구 (A Study on The low-frequency Hydrophone Using Single-mode FBG in the Hopper Type WDM be in the Making)

  • 광섬유 격자소자(FBG)를 이용한 광섬유 수중 음향센서는 기존의 광섬유 센서가 지니고 있는 우수한 장점들을 지니고 있을 뿐만 아니라, PZT센서가 검출할 수 없는 저주파수(30Hz~300Hz)특성에서도 우수한 신호 감지효과를 지니고 있다. 실험에서 $1{\times}3$ 광 커플러 보다, 최근 개발된 hopper lenz WDM을 사용하여, 최대 19KHz까지 고감도 음파신호를 검출하고, 우수한 신호압축율과 초저주파수의 신호검출가능성을 보임에 따라, 정교한 신호해석과 군사용으로 사용될 수 있는 초저주파 신호 검출에 실용화를 기대 할 수 있으며, 센서 어레이(array)를 통하여 고감도 다중화로 발전될 수 있다.

에드워드 호퍼 회화의 실내공간에 나타난 공간적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Spatial Characteristics in the Interior Spaces of Edward Hopper's Paintings)

  • Edward Hopper is one of the great American artists in the 20th Century. In the field of art, it seems that his paintings are thoroughly analyzed In terms of human alienation and emotional aspects in various ways. However, in his numerous paintings, highly interesting spatial aspects can be found. Purpose of this study is to analyze some of his painting by the spatially analytical tools to examine how his space is experienced. The tools are: relationship between each space, relationship between light and space, and geometrical composition. Among many paintings by Hopper, four of the works that depicted interior spaces are selected and further case-studied in detail: ${\ulcorner}$Rooms by the Sea${\lrcorner}$ (1951), ${\ulcorner}$Sun in an Empty Room${\lrcorner}$ (1963), ${\ulcorner}$New York Movie${\lrcorner}$ (1939) and ${\ulcorner}$Automat${\lrcorner}$ (1927). An Environmental Simulation with scale models was used to examine the relation between light and space. After the research, some unique characteristics of his space were found. Even though his paintings seem to represent the everyday spaces, there are fascinating hidden structure to make people experience in a specific way that Hopper created. Spaces In his paintings do not communicate with each other but are constantly interrupted by the element of time. The mundane everyday world is rediscovered and recreated through these multidimensional and heterogeneous space.

렘브란트, 베르메르, 호퍼의 회화에 나타난 빛과 공간의 비교 분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparative Study on Light and Space in the Paintings of Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hopper)

  • The characteristics of light in the paintings of Rembrandt van Rijn, Johaness Vermeer and Edward Hopper are very different. While Rembrandt and Vermeer lived in the 17th century, Hopper lived in the 20th century. Although this time gap, comparative study on their light-space relationship is important because there are spatial similarities as well as light differences. Most three painters' works depict interior spaces with one person inside. The interior space is filled with different light and shadow. In the Rembrandt's paintings, only part of the figure is lit in the ambiguous darkness. In the Vermeer's paintings, the soft indirect light is filled in the domestic space and the boundary between the figure and space is blurred. In the Hopper's paintings, the direct sunlight invades the interior and the figure confronts with strong daylight. These light differences were caused by the artists' intentions as well as the environmental situations. 4 case paintings of each artist were analyzed by phenomenological aspects and computerized light brightness test. Scale models were built to re-construct the three different light characteristics. The model experimentation will have potential to develop 2 dimensional art analysis into 3 dimensional space design by means of light. However it was very difficult to construct the three lights, the experimentation shows they have unique characteristics that can be applied to spatial design studies.

  • This paper discuss the chemical, physical and mineral properties of classified fly ashes by electrostatic precipitator and calcinated fly ashes at 50$0^{\circ}C$. The electrostatic precipitator in coal fired power plant has a number of hopper in the direction of flue gases. The properties of fly ashes collected at each hopper in the electrostatic precipitator are different. Superfine, fine and ordinary fly ashes can be collected respectively at each hopper. The carbon content in fly ash is influenced on the viscosity of paste. By calcination, the carbon content in fly ash is decreased and the fluidity of paste is improved.

선체 호퍼너클 구조의 최종강도 및 피로강도 (Ultimate and Fatigue Strength of Ship Hopper Knuckles)

  • The aim of the present study is to investigate the characteristics of ultimate the fatigue strength of hopper knuckles in merchant vessels carrying bulk cargo or LNG/LPG/ The ultimate strength test is undertaken on the hopper knuckle model, subject to end tip load. A series of fatigue tests are carried out on the hopper knuckle models varying the level of the nominal stresses. The elasto-plastic finite element analysis is performed to examine the distribution of hot spot stresses near weld toe and also the progressive collapse behavior of the test model. S-N curves are developed based on the fatigue test results.
