This study examined the features of maternal involvement in Korean children's early education and their relation to contextual variables and three forms of parental cognition. For this study 333 Korean mothers with 5 to 7 year-old children completed questionnaires that covered aspects such as demographical characteristics, three forms of involvement in their children's education, and three forms of parental cognition. Descriptive analysis indicated that mothers who were more involved in monitoring homework paid more monthly activity fees for supplementary classes and engaged more in cognitively stimulating activities at home. Financial investment in supplementary classes for children was not associated with engagement in cognitively stimulating activities at home. Stepwise regression analysis found that mothers who were more involved in monitoring their young childrens homework expressed higher aspirations for their childrens future occupation. Korean mothers who paid more for their child's supplementary classes had higher family incomes. Korean mothers who engaged more often in cognitively stimulating activities at home expressed higher parental self-efficacy, had a higher educational level, had a younger child, and had an earlier birth order or only child.

The major purpose of this study is to investigate the actual condition of elementary school, nursery school, social welfare facilities providing after-school child care programs and to suggest new after-school program which is focused on social and emotional development for children of dual-earner couples. The cases of current after-school programs in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, it was showed Hat elementary school' child care programs after school were designed for speciality-aptitude education during 3-4 hours. Second, nursery school's programs were showed to instruct children in homework and make up learning and were operating until late evening. But the nursery school fee is more expensive than the other facilities. Third, social welfare facilities have a variety of program than elementary school and nursery school. But the program still consist of homework, supplementary lessons, speciality education etc. These facilities have too much students, compared to the teachers

In response to the current educational situation of students' heavy workload, the author constructs the precision-targeted classroom based on Precision Teaching (PT), Network Pharmacology, and Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation. The precision-targeted classroom can solve the current problems of PT and the phenomenon of the heavy academic burden on students, achieve the reduction of the burden and increase the efficiency of education. The precision-targeted classroom includes five key points: targeted goals, childlike thinking, precise intervention, intelligent homework, and stereoscopic evaluation, and the implementation process of the precision-targeted classroom is built from three aspects: before, during and after class. In addition, the author applied it to the actual mathematics classroom to test its teaching effect, and the experimental results showed that: the precision-targeted classroom significantly improved students' academic performance and thinking level; considerably improved students' classroom learning status, and facilitated teaching personalization and realized homework quantity control and quality improvement.

The purpose of this study was to explore variables that influence mother-adolescent conflict. Independent variables were adolescent's physical maturation, mother's self-esteem, and mother-adolescent communication pattern. The results were as follows: First, the degree of mother-adolescent conflict perceived by adolescents was low in general, but high in homework and academic achievement. Second, no sex difference was found in the degree of mother-adolescent conflict. Third, the mother-adolescent conflict was not significantly related to both of adolescent's physical maturation and mother's self-esteem. However, mother-adolescent communication meaning that the more open the communication between mother and adolescent was, the less conflict was found between them.

The purposes of this study were to inquire the status of academic integrity of the student in mentorship program at a science gifted institute attached to university and to seek the teaching plan of academic integrity. We administered questionnaire to 51 students who passed the enterance exam of mentorship program at the science gifted institute in 2013. The questionnaire consisted of three topics, 1) using reference, 2) purchasing, deputizing & plagiarizing of homework, 3) cooperative learning. As results of survey, students have a ethic in the following order: 'purchasing, deputizing & plagiarizing of homework', 'using reference', and 'cooperative learning'. Especially, the lack of conscious about 'cooperative learning' turned out to be a problem, because students have to research by cooperative learning during mentorship program. And there was no significant correlation between each topic. Finally, there was no correlation between ethical knowledge and degree of practicing it.

The purpose of this study is to increase the level of learning achievement by on-line learning instruments and self-regulated learning. The study were to investigate the 3 learning instrument-lecture, homework, participation-self related learning strategy, learning achievement. This Survey was conducted 226 responses of e-learning social welfare education learners. For this research, Amos 18 is used. The research findings can be summarized as the following. Lecture, homework and participation is indicated significantly affecting self-regulated learning and self-regulated learning is indicated significantly affecting learning achievement. And learning instruments has not statically significant direct effect on the learning achievement but learning instruments has statically significant indirect effect on the learning achievemen and the self-regulated.

Web based instruction (WBI) has been widely used thesedays because the web has various advantages for instruction. However, most of current WBI systems do not support various requirements from students. It is because of the lack of research for structural instruction method. This paper presents a new method of WBI and designs an instruction model to support various requirements from students by implementing dynamic WBI system using JSP to solve current WBI problems. The developed WBI system uses multimedia based instructions. The implemented system focused on the practical instruction by providing the functions of listening, homework, and test on web site. For the similar effects as in the classroom, it supports functions of electronic white board and multimedia data which is consisted of high-quality sound and video data with high degree of compression. Furthermore, the system supports that instructors can design a test using three kinds of basic forms, a multiple-choice test, brief-answer test, essay test, and evaluate the tests easily. It also supports easy management for homework, lecture registration, and many school affairs.

This study researched the trends of mathematics education in Korean mathematics class in the aspects of teaching and learning method, assessment and teachers' competency based on TIMSS 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007. For the mathematics teaching and learning method, the differentiated instruction rate is higher. The activities focused on students not teacher are more, and frequencies of homework are higher but time spent for homework is less than the past. Especially, mathematics teachers link homeworks to instructions. And mathematics teachers uses more multiple choice items and more various assessment methods than the past. The average age of mathematics teachers tends to become older since 1995. The major of mathematics teacher are primarily mathematics and mathematics education. Korean mathematics teachers have less self-esteem for teaching mathematics contents and have more various interactions with peers. The rate of participating in-service training is more or less according to training contents.

This study was carried out to investigate the utilization status of internet and dietary information by gender (boys : 442, girls : 461) in school children (total 903). The results were summarized as follows. The most of children used internet regularly (98.1%) and major purpose of using were mentioned as 'game (39.0%)' and 'social intercourse (49.5%)'. The duration of internet use was '< 2hours (80.9%)' They used internet mainly at 'home (88.8%)', and favorite search engines were 'Yahoo (54.2%)' and 'Daum (31.1%)'. The searching experience on dietary information was from only 35.6% of subjects mainly 'for homework (39.6%)' and 'for health (36.9%)'. The satisfaction degree of searched information was 'high (79.5%)'. Dissatisfactory reasons of internet site for dietary information were pointed out to be 'bring little interest (28.9)', 'difficult contents (19.2%)', and 'poor Information (18.2%)'. Only fifteen % of subjects had experience of nutrition counseling using internet, and purpose of counseling was mainly 'for homework (51.4%)' and 'for health problem (24.3%)'. The problems for nutritional counseling site were pointed out to be 'difficult answer content (31.7%)', 'insincere answer (28.6%)'and 'poor answer content (25.4%)'. They acquire information of nutrition and health management mainly through 'internet (43.7%)'. 'Growth and nutrition (28.3%)', 'improvement in studying ability (13.8%)', 'right weight control (13.3%)' and 'cooking (12.8%)'were most frequently asked information, They had a preference for 'game (40.5%)', 'animation (29.9%)' and 'quiz (18.1%)'as loaming method tools. The favorite site color was 'green (51.3%)'The results of this study showed that although the internet use was very high, they used internet to search dietary information very seldom. Therefore, the information donor should find out what is the optimal tool, what kind of dietary information was needed for school children.

The world has rapidly become culturally diverse, and Korea has gradually grown into a multicultural society, mainly due to marriage immigrants and foreign laborers, whose number exceeds over one million nationally. Their adjustment and acculturation in Korea, however, dose'nt seem painless and untroubled, and public libraries are in duty to provide multicultural service for these population. Providing useful services on the homepage makes it possible for users to find the information they need without having to visit the actual library. A more detailed research will be conducted by examining the multicultural services provided by the public libraries in Australia, Canada, the United States, and Japan, the leading multicultural societies. The further examination will be conducted on these libraries in terms of four aspects, that is, information, literacy, education, and culture, as declared by Public Library Menifesto. In Korea, translation and interpretation services, homework help, child literacy are necessary services at the public library, Management of independent multicultural site, shared services between Regional Central Library and Community Public Library, cooperation with libraries, government and organization will be helpful to multicultural library services.
