  • This study analyzed the characteristics that affect the direction change of public fitness in the current COVID-19 situation. As a result of the study, if public and active fitness-related awareness is strengthened and fitness places require a transition from outdoor fitness to home training, fitness activities require a transition from offline fitness to offline + online sports fitness, and finally, in the case of fitness equipment, there is an increase in demand for home training. Based on these characteristics, this study is expected to help the entire nation achieve athletic life and a healthy society by presenting its course of action on the change of direction of popular movement.

  • This study aims to analyze exercise cases and issues using smart devices and technologies, and to present the development direction of a smart exercise environment suitable for the wellness life of active seniors with high activity and economic power unlike the existing silver generation. In the fitness industry, the subscription economy that regularly receives or uses necessary exercise tools, services, and digital content is expanding, and business models based on hardware sales and content subscription continue to emerge. In order to have value competitiveness as a platform that provides active seniors with integrated exercise services for health care, not only fitness centers, but also home training exercise equipment, fitness-related applications, and smart wearable device markets should be organically connected to form an expanded total platform.   • In recent years, public attention to health and wellness issues has increased. The integration of smart fitness hardware and innovative technologies have made the development of smart fitness a trend. The number of fitness applications in the market has surged, and demand for an optimal experience is increasingly high. This study selects Sweatcoin, Home Workout, Six Pack in 30 Days, and Fitness Coach & Diet as research subjects from the top ten global mobile health and fitness apps in 2022 based on download rankings. The research is based on eight gamification elements: motivation, challenge, achievement, relationships, sharing, reward, level, and competition, identified through preliminary studies. We distributed a total of 166 questionnaires to users and collected 163 valid responses for data analysis. The Kano Model was used to study the desires of fitness enthusiasts using fitness apps. To reduce the limitations of the research results, the Better-Worse Method was employed for satisfaction index analysis. Based on the final analysis, we propose suggestions for improvement for the four fitness apps to better meet user needs and create a more attractive and efficient application experience.

A Comparative Research on the fitness test of the Basic Bodice Patterns for Women (국내외 여성복 원형의 치수 적합성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the fitness according to drafting method of the block patterns for women in Korea. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. According to each sensory test of the frontal view, back view, side view and silhouette Block Pattern I is the best of them in summation of the sensory tests score. Block, Pattern D and I have good shape too. However the best block Pattern D shows good score in evaluation of overall fitness and silhouette. 2. Most of block patterns, which show high scores in sensory tests, are the Compromise Method taking merits of the Proportional Method and Short Measure Method among the Pattern Drafting Methods. Box-shape patterns show low score in the sensory tests. 3. Regarding to the number of measurement, the patterns of the Compromise Method using 6-8 measurements seem to be optimal. In degree of fitness, loose fit type basic patterns are better than other patterns from a viewpoint of the total satisfaction.

The Effects of Low Intensity Exercise Program with Telephone coaching on Physical Fitness and Physiological Index in the Elderly Women in Home Visiting Health Program (전화코칭을 동반한 저강도 운동프로그램이 방문건강관리 여성노인의 체력과 생리적 지표에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of a low intensity exercise program with telephone coaching on the physical fitness and physiological index of elderly women who are receiving home visiting health program. Methods: This study was conducted using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 53 senior citizens. The subjects (15) in experimental group 1 performed only a low-intensity exercise program and the subjects (16) in experimental group 2 performed a low intensity exercise program with telephone coaching for 16 weeks. The low intensity exercise program consisted of muscle strength band exercise, stretching, and hand exercise using balls. Results: There were statistical differences in the right grip strength (p=.030), left grip strength (p=.035), raising behind of right arm (p=.046), raising behind of left arm (p=.045), postprandial blood sugar (p=.021), body mass index (p=.029). Conclusion: The low intensity exercise program with telephone coaching is recommended as a physical fitness and physiological index for elderly women in a home visiting health program.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of low intensity exercise program with telephone coaching on the physical fitness of elderly people who are receiving home visiting nursing care. Method: This study was conducted using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 61 elders. Elders (34) in the experimental group performed low intensity exercise and of these 16 received telephone coaching. The low intensity exercise program consisted of stretching, muscle strengthening with an elastic band, massage, and ball exercise, five days a week, for sixteen weeks. Data were collected from July 2007 to December 2007. $x^2$-test, ANCOVA with SPSS WIN 11.0 program were used to analyse the data. Results: There were statistical differences in the right grasping power in the right hand (p=0.021), Raising behind of right arm (p=0.006), Raising behind of left arm (p=0.007). Conclusion: These results indicate, that a low intensity exercise program with telephone coaching can help improve physical fitness in elders receiving served home visiting nursing care.

Effects of Elastic Band Resistance Exercise on Physical Fitness, Activities of Daily Living, Falls Efficacy, and Quality of Life Among Older Women Receiving Home Nursing (탄력밴드저항운동이 장기요양 방문간호 이용 여성노인의 체력, 일상생활수행능력, 낙상효능감 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This thesis study aimed to examine the effects of elastic-band resistance exercise on physical fitness, activities of daily living (ADLs), falls efficacy, and quality of life among older women receiving home nursing care under long-term care insurance. Methods: We used an equivalent control group pre-test/post-test design. We assigned older women at the nursing care center J to the experimental group (n=21), and older adult women at the nursing care center H to the control group (n=21). The experimental group engaged in an elastic band resistance exercise twice per week from February 18 to April 12, 2019. Results: There were significant differences in the Short Physical Performance Battery score (t=4.15 p<.001), left grip strength (t=0.57, p<.569), right grip strength (t=1.38 p<.177), flexibility test scores (t=2.34, p<.024), ADLs (t=6.86, p<.001), falls efficacy (t=5.16, p<.001), and quality of life (t=3.87, p<.001). Grip strength was increased slightly in the experimental group, but the increase was not significant. Conclusion: Elastic band resistance exercise is an effective nursing intervention to enhance physical fitness, flexibility, ADLs, falls efficacy, and quality of life among older women receiving home nursing care under long term care insurance.

Sizing System for the Junior-high School Girls′ Lower Clothes According to the Lower Body type Analysis (여중생의 하반신 체형분류에 따른 하의류 치수체계)

  • Fitness of clothes becomes a major concern in apparel industry. In order to improve clothing fitness, it's very important to suggest a systematical sizing system. The Purpose of this study was to suggest a standard sizing system for junior-high school girls'lower clothes. The subjects were 402 middle-high school girls of 13 to 15 year-old. 4 clusters were categorized by cluster analysis and the sizing system was classified according to four lower body types. The size intervals of waist girth and hip girth were 3cm and 4cm respectively. The most frequent size were 64-86 in the short and small figure type 1,67-90 in the fattest figure type 2, 61-86 in the average size type 3 and 64-90 in type 4 taller than others types. The sizing system, which had frequencies more than 4%, was classified 9 cases, 11 cases, 8 cases and 9 cases respectively by lower body types. This result will contribute to clothing fitness of consumer and the amount of production.

  • This thesis has two objects: Firstly, the arrangement of basic data and formulating a system of experiment and practice in home economics and Secondly, the groping the way of improving the problems raised in the home economics education spot. A questinaire is used as the research tools for the fitness of content, of experiment and practice in the home economics and SPSS/PC(sup)+ and Scheffe Test are used for investigation. The results are as follows. 1. Students recognize the importance of experiment & practice more than the teacher. In the type of middle school teachers engaged in the girl’s middle school recognize the importance of experiment & practice more than those of coeducation middle school. 2. The percent of the school which executes over the 50% of experiment & practice in the contents of text book is 70%. The most numerous in the sphere of guiding is ‘seperate practice of student’. The reason of not executing the experiment & practice are ‘the concentration of the theory education’and ‘the lack of equipment and tools’3. Practice room for cooking was mostly established, but practice room of sewing was established only 5.6%. The contents of textbook for clothing sphere can be executed by using the equipment & tools of school only 9.2%. 4. 40% of the students feel that the content level of experiment & practice is difficult. Most of the students feel that the content level of experiment & practice, especially in the sphere of clothing, in unproper on the level fitness of contents by grade. 5. Most of the students assent on the positive effect for the degree and the most important cause for its not contributing to the everday life is the lack of experiment & practice in school. 6. Most of the students feels positively on the interest degree of content and the students who though much of the experment & practice feels positively on the interest degree of content.

A Study on Body Satisfaction and Fitness Apparel Based on Body Type by Body Mass Index: In Women 20-50's Years of Age (BMI지수에 의한 신체유형별 신체만족도와 의복적합성에 관한 연구: 20~50대 여성을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify body type by BMI and to inquire about body satisfaction and fitness apparel depending on body type among women 20-50years of age. As a result, body types are classified into three groups: lean, normal, and obese figures. On front silhouette, the normal type occupies most in women belonged to lean figure group, the obese lower part of the bodytype in normal figure group, and the obese upper part of the body type in obese figure group. On the other, in side silhouette, the slender type is prevalent in lean figure group, hip obesity in normal figure group, and trunk obesity in obese figure group. In particular, women in the obese figure group were distributed among the various body types. The obese figure group had a lower fitness apparel in the measurement of circumference(e.g., chest, waist, and hip) related to obesity in comparison with measurement of length. Therefore, the development of an optimal sizing system in response to the various body types in the obese figure group is needed to provide more diversity in aesthetic design and continuity among various sizing systems.
