Method: Non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed. Data were collected from April 2007 to January 2009. Among a total of fifty subjects, 25 subjects were belonged to the case management group and the others were belonged to the general management group. Results: 1) In experimental group, significant increasing rate of number of people within normal blood pressure by time, but no significant increasing rate of number of people within normal blood neutral fat, total cholesterol, HDL, & LDL. 2) In experimental group, the score of knowledge about disease and healthy life practice were increased on 8 week period but decreased on follow up period. Number of people within normal blood HDL and mean score of healthy life practice were significantly higher than control group on follow up period. Conclusion: Case management service was effective on controlling blood pressure but partly effective on blood lipid, knowledge about disease, and healthy life practice in hypertensive patients. Further study is needed to conduct a periodic re-evaluation of the effect of case management and to verify an optimal interval to provide the case management service.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a suction care self video-based debriefing-assisted learning in the fundamentals of nursing practice for nursing students on clinical performance, self-efficacy and problem-solving process. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design study was used and included 97 junior nursing students at P University as participants, 48 of whom were assigned to the experimental group, and 49 of whom were assigned to the control group. The outcome measurements were clinical performance for suction care, self-efficacy, and the problem-solving process. Results: The scores of clinical performance were 23.75 in the experimental group who used the materials and 21.55 in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p<.000). Self-efficacy was 4.30 in the experimental group and 4.18 in the control group, which was a statistically significant difference (p=.000), and the pre-to-post differences of self-efficacy was statistically significant as well (p<.001). However, there were no significant differences in the pre-to-post differences of the problem-solving process (p<.802). Conclusions: Self video-based debriefing-assisted learning may be more effective in enhancing clinical performance and self-efficacy than that of conventional practice. Whether self-efficacy will contribute to enhanced learning motivation for nursing students needs further examination.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the prevention behavior of COVID-19 infection among nursing students. Methods: This survey was conducted from September 3 to October 2, 2021 among 172 sophomore and senior students at universities in D metropolitan city and J province. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and Hierarchical Regression. Results: There were significant differences in COVID-19 preventive behavior by gender (t=0.13, p=.017) and clinical practice experience (t=2.78, p=.006). COVID-19 preventive behavior showed significantly positive correlations with subjective norm (r=.35, p<.001), self-efficacy(r=.33, p<.001), and intention(r=.62, p<.001). The variables affecting COVID-19 preventive behavior were intention(β=.529, p<.001), subjective norm(β=.169, p=.008), and clinical practice experience(β=.118, p=.049), and the explanatory power was 43%. Conclusion: Considering these results, it is necessary to develop strategies that can encourage the intention of nursing students to practice prevention for COVID-19 infection control. In addition, maintaining subjective norms through national policies is a critical strategy.

  • This study developed and taught VR content to be used in clothing design and composition practice, which are practical subjects for home education students at the College of Education, and examined the learning effects on students who participated in VR experiences. First, after experiencing classes using VR content, students' perceptions of classes were examined considering participation, class level, expectations, and satisfaction through a survey. As a result of examining the experience of learning sewing machines in classes using VR content and changes in perception of classes, it was found that the class level, class expectations, and satisfaction were affected. As a result of comparative analysis of VR experiences and the perception of VR classes prior to experiencing VR content related to sewing machines developed for practical subjects, VR experiences affected class participation, class level, expectations, but satisfaction was not affected. The advantages of the VR class that students mentioned in the subjective evaluation included interest in the class, the degree of participation, the VR experience, and the use of VR. As for the disadvantages, difficulties in using the device, dizziness, frustration when using the device, and limitations of the program were mentioned.
