Because of the specificity of subjects belong to middle school curriculum of Home Economics Education of function training is very important. but it pointed out that the existing standards are out-dated, and because of it , it incongruent to our realities. Therefore, whenever the curriculum o education and the national textbook are reorgrnized periodically, the reform of standards of educational materials & facilities must be followed by it. But in my opinion, in korean middle school, especially in Home Economics Education, educational facilities are not reformed at a proper time. Therefore to enhance the qualities of experimentation/practice of Home Economics Education, in the first place, the preparation for the given conditions of standards of educational materials & facilities are needed. In a rapidly changing Korean society, the role of home economics in ideological education and practical professionalism is faced to be reset. In this article the author reviews home economics and career opportunities. the following issues were discussed in detail : 1. Home Economics and Occupation ; a) As professionals in the field of home economics, job applicants must carry their message in person to potential employers. Employers must be taught that persons with home economics degrees have the capabilities and qualifications to fill a variety of positions. b) In may of 1977, Vocational Education Coalition was established by American Home economics association (AHEA), American Vocational Association, and Home Economics Education association This coalition defined the vocational education as occupation of homemaking and paid employment in home economics occupations for women and men. 2. The purpose of the study were to analyze of the curriculum and textbooks for technology & home economics in the 7th national curriculum, and to suggest the revision direction of them. This study was carried out through literature research of national curriculum and textbooks of Korea and Japan, respectively. The findings of the study were as follows: First, we have three textbooks which are technology & home economics 1, technology & home economics 2, technology & home economics 3 for each grade of middle school student, but one technology textbook and one home economics textbook may be better for middle school student to reduce the learning content following revised curriculum. Second, as an aspect of learning content between technology textbook and computer textbook, the computer and information volume is too much overlapped, which is also the same result at the survey research report of KICE. Therefore, the computer content of technology & home economics textbooks must be considered to reduce according to follow research.
