기술.가정 교과 '수송기술' 단원에서 수업 자료의 제시 방법에 따른 학업 성취도와 학습 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Academic Achievement and Learning Satisfaction According to the Presentation Method of the Multimedia Materials for 'Transportation Technology' Unit of Technology.Home Economics Subject)

  • 본 연구는 기술 가정교과 '수송기술' 단원의 수업시 강의식 수업인 통제집단과 교사가 멀티미디어 자료로 수업한 실험집단 1, 멀티미디어 자료에 내레이션을 넣어 동영상으로 제작하여 교실에서 보는 수업을 하는 실험집단 2 간의 수업 자료의 제시 방법에 따른 학업 성취도와 학습 만족도를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 기술교과를 수업하는 93명 여고생들이며, 6개 질문에 대한 응답자료는 SPSS통계 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였고 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수업에 대한 학생들의 학습 만족도 응답 평균(M)은 교사가 멀티미디어 자료로 진행한 수업(실험집단 1)이 4.14로 가장 높고, 멀티미디어 자료에 내레이션을 넣은 동영상을 교실에서 보는 수업(실험집단 2)이 3.16, 강의식 수업(통제집단)이 보통보다 약간 아래 수준인 2.63으로 나와 멀티미디어 자료로 교사가 수업을 하는 것이 가장 바람직함 수업임을 보여준다. 둘째, 문항간 상관계수에서 보면 흥미있는 수업에서는 기억도와 내용 이해도가 높지만, 집중도가 떨어지면 기억도도 떨어짐을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 학업 성취도는 실험집단 1이 가장 높았으며, 실험집단 2는 통제집단과 유사한 수준이다. 학업 성취도를 높이기 위해서는 강의식 수업에서는 흥미를 높여야 하며, 내레이션을 포함한 동영상을 보는 교실수업에서는 수업 집중도를 높이는 방안이 요청된다.

한국 일부 청소년의 건강기능식품용 비타민·무기질 보충제 섭취 실태 및 관련 요인 조사 (A Survey on the Consumption of Vitamin and Mineral Supplements as Health Functional Foods and Related Factors by Korean Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the consumption prevalence of vitamin and mineral supplements as health functional foods (VM-HFF) and to examine the factors associated with VM-HFF consumption behaviors in adolescents. A total of 1,407 adolescents attending middle or high schools from various cities and rural communities in Korea participated in this study. The prevalence of VM-HFF consumption was 41.7%, with boys showing a higher consumption than girls (p<0.01). VM-HFF consumption was higher in families with higher socioeconomic status and for families with parents that exhibited higher concerns about their child's health, growth, and nutritional intake (p<0.001). Most consumers of VM-HFF consumed HFFs 'when healthy' (50.1%), and acquired nutritional information from 'their families & relatives' (50.9%). Most consumers responded that VM-HFF was 'a little effective' (54.3%), followed by 'no obvious effects' (37.1%), and 'very effective' (7.4%). The effectiveness of consuming VM-HFF was mainly for 'fatigue recovery' (39.0%) and 'health improvement' (28.2%). Most consumers purchased HFFs at 'pharmacies & oriental medicine clinics' (53.8%) and at 'health functional food stores' (18.8%). Most consumers 'occasionally' (51.1%) or 'seldom' (27.3%) checked nutrition facts when purchasing, with 58.9% of consumers understanding the nutritional label for 'the most part', but only 8.7% of them understanding it 'very well'. Among the VM-HFF, consumers preferred calcium- and vitamin C-supplements. Consumers' mini-dietary assessment scores were higher than those of non-consumers. The results above showed that VM-HFF consumption was widely spread among adolescents, but few consumers checked and understood the nutrition label when they purchased VM-HFF, and were highly dependent on the advice and information from non-professional nutritionists, such as families & relatives. Therefore, it is necessary to educate adolescents to help them read nutrition labels and select the proper VM-HFF.

청소년의 임파워먼트 향상을 위한 의생활 영역 가정과수업 개발(제1보) (Development of Home Economics Teaching-Learning Plan in the Clothing and Textiles area For Teenager's Empowerment Improving(I))

  • 본 연구는 의생활 교육내용을 임파워먼트 향상을 목표로 하는 비판과학 관점의 가정과수업으로 구성하여 청소년들이 직면하는 의생활 문제를 해결하고 나아가 새로운 의생활 문화를 창조시킬 수 있는 교수·학습 과정안을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Yoo와 Lee(2010)가 구체적으로 해석한 Laster(1986)의 교육과정 개발 과정을 적용하여 개념화한 후, Brown(1979)의 실질적 내용구성과 미국 위스콘신 주에서 개발한 교사용 지도서 "A Teacher's guide : Family, Food and Society"(Staaland & Storm, 1996)에서 제시된 실천적 추론의 개념적 틀을 적용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의생활 관련된 문헌들을 고찰한 결과를 토대로 의생활과 관련된 지속적인 관심사로는 '사회 내의 가족을 위하여 의생활과 관련하여 무엇을 해야 하는가?'로 선정하였다. 추구하는 가치목표는 자유가 많고 책임이 큰 상태인 복합적인 위치로 정의하여, 상호의존성, 감정적 성숙, 지적발달, 의사소통 능력 등을 학습의 목표로 삼았다. 교육내용과 활동 구조를 위해 교육내용의 개념적 틀로 실천적 추론 과정을 사용하였으며, 하위 관심사, 광의의 개념, 하위 개념과 지적·사회적 기술을 포함시켰다. 둘째, 실천적 추론 단계를 토대로 의생활 영역의 교수·학습 과정안을 개발하였다. 그 결과 총 5개 모듈의 12차시 과정안을 개발하였으며, 읽기 자료, 그림 자료, 모둠활동 자료, 동영상 자료 등을 포함하여 총 31개의 학습지를 개발하였다. 본 연구결과, 실천적 추론과정을 수업에 새로이 시도해 보고자 하는 교사들이나, 실천적 추론 과정을 현장에서 실행하는 데에 어려움을 겪은 교사들에게 바로 적용할 수 있는 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

Effect of milk and milk products consumption on physical growth and bone mineral density in Korean adolescents

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship among the current status of calcium intake from milk and milk products, physical growth and bone mineral density in 664 male and female middle school and high school students aged 15-17 years. In the study, the current status of calcium intake from milk and milk products was analyzed, and the height, body composition, and bone mineral density of the right heel bone (calcaneus) were measured. The daily calcium intake of milk and milk products was calculated as the 'dairy equivalent of calcium', which is the calcium content in 200 mL of white milk. The cutoffs of tertiles of the dairy equivalent of calcium were calculated and then the subjects were categorized into 3 groups according to the tertiles, Q1 group (lower intake group), Q2 group (middle intake group) and Q3 group (upper intake group). The daily calcium intake of milk and milk products in Q1, Q2 and Q3 groups was 16.2 mg, 99.7 mg, and 284.0 mg, respectively, and the ratio of milk and milk product consumption to the daily total calcium intake was 5.4%, 27.4%, and 49.7%, respectively. The ratio of total calcium intake to the daily recommended intake in study subjects was 30.5% in Q1, 42.3% in Q2, and 60.7% in Q3, with significant differences (P < 0.05). Height, body weight, BMI, and % of body fat in three tertile groups (Q1, Q2 and Q3) were not significantly different. However, the T scores for bone mineral density in female students in three tertile groups (Q1, Q2 and Q3) was significantly different (P < 0.05). The study showed that the intake of milk and milk products in adolescents, particularly in girls, can improve the bone mineral density without increasing body weight, and thus confirmed that milk intake is important in adolescence.

학교급식 유형, 성별 및 학년에 따른 충남 일부지역 초등학생의 식행동에 관한 연구 (The Study on Dietary Behaviors of Elementary School Student in Chungnam Area According to the School Food Service Type, Gender and Grade)

  • This study compared the food habits and attitudes towards dietary life culture in types of feeding management, gender and grade. The subjects were 352 elementary school students who lived in Seocheon, Chungnam. The independently managed school students were better than jointly managed school students in food habits (p<0.05). In skipping school meals, upper grade students were skipped more than lower grade students (p<0.05). In rate of eating school meals, boys were faster than girls (p<0.001). The independently managed school students and the jointly managed school students were different on distasteful food. Boys disliked vegetables and girls disliked cereals and beans (p<0.05). Upper grade students ate more well-balanced meals than lower grade students (p<0.05). As for the question 'what you will do if the distasteful foods are provided through school meals', they responded. the highest percent of students, 'I will try once or twice'. And the response 'I have them for health' was higher independently in managed school students than the jointly managed school students (p<0.05), girls than boy (p<0.05), and the lower grades than the upper grades (p<0.05). As for the question 'what you will do if the distasteful foods are provided, after the guide for school meals was performed', the response, 'I will make an effort to have it' accounted for the highest percents, and there were differences in lower grade students who were high percents than upper grade students (p<0.01). As for the recognition for unbalanced diets, most of the students recognized that it is a 'bad habit'; the girl students accounted for more percentage than boys (p<0.05). The criterion of food choice were different in gender and grade (p<0.01). As for the factor of influences for the food habits formation, lower grade students were 'school education' and upper grade students were 'parents' (p<0.05). Thus, the systematic guide for proper intakes of nutrition should be performed. Also, the time when students can be educated by an expert of nutritional education, which is connected with school meals and students can grow healthily.

Relationships between milk consumption and academic performance, learning motivation and strategy, and personality in Korean adolescents

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: A healthy diet has been reported to be associated with physical development, cognition and academic performance, and personality during adolescence. This study was performed to investigate the relationships among milk consumption and academic performance, learning motivation and strategies, and personality among Korean adolescents. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study was divided into two parts. The first part was a survey on the relationship between milk consumption and academic performance, in which intakes of milk and milk products and academic scores were examined in percentiles among 630 middle and high school students residing in small and medium-sized cities in 2009. The second part was a survey on the relationships between milk consumption and learning motivation and strategy as well as personality, in which milk consumption habits were collected and Learning Motivation and Strategy Test (L-MOST) for adolescents and Total Personality Inventory for Adolescents (TPI-A) were conducted in 262 high school students in 2011. RESULTS: In the 2009 survey, milk and milk product intakes of subjects were divided into a low intake group (LM: ${\leq}60.2g/day$), medium intake group (MM: 60.3-150.9 g/day), and high intake group (HM: ${\geq}151.0g/day$). Academic performance of each group was expressed as a percentile, and performance in Korean, social science, and mathematics was significantly higher in the HM group (P < 0.05). In the 2011 survey, the group with a higher frequency of everyday milk consumption showed significantly higher "learning strategy total," "testing technique," and "resources management technique" scores (P < 0.05) in all subjects. However, when subjects were divided by gender, milk intake frequency, learning strategy total, class participation technique, and testing technique showed significantly positive correlations (P < 0.05) in boys, whereas no correlation was observed in girls. Correlations between milk intake frequency and each item of the personality test were only detected in boys, and milk intake frequency showed positive correlations with "total agreeability", "organization", "responsibility", "conscientiousness", and "intellectual curiosity" (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Intakes of milk and milk products were correlated with academic performance (Korean, social science, and mathematics) in Korean adolescents. In male high school students, particularly, higher milk intake frequency was positively correlated with learning motivation and strategy as well as some items of the personality inventory.

환경교육에서 과학적 지식과 윤리적 가치의 관계 (Thre Relationaship of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education)

  • The objective of this study was to review the meaning and problems of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education. The ultimate goal of environmental education is shaping proenvironmental human behavior. The factors of human behavioral decision making are ideology, value, attitude and behavioral intentions. Ideology is a kind of belief system used by social groups to interpret their social world. The main elements of belief system are knowledge and value. The traditional thinking in education has been that we can change behavior by making human beings more knowledgeable and more valuable. In environmental education, the aim of scientific inquiry is to analysis cause-effect relation of human beings behavior and environmental phenomenon, and ethical education is to change the mind of human beings from zero-sum to positive-sum about the relations between human beings and natural environments. But, there are many problems of knowledge education and value education in environmental education. For example scientific knowledge without ethical value is dangerous to environment protection, and ethical value without scientific knowledge is vague. Therefore, we must recognize that the relationship of ethical value and scientific knowledge is not substitutional but complementary. The teaching-learning methods which can integrate knowledge and value in environmental education are rational decision making model. For this model, we can construct teaching contents with inquiry materials. To earn the benefits of specialization among several subjects in environmental education, social studies can focus on social science knowledge and decision making, science education can focus on pure natural science knowledge and scientific investigation, moral education can focus on problems of ethical value system, home economics can focus on practical action and environmental education(Environments in middle school, Ecology and Environments in high school) can integrate social-national science knowledge and ethical value in broad perspective about human beings and ecosystem. That is the method to protect from law of diminishing marginal utility of learning in environmental education.

기혼 여교사의 심리적 복지수준 연구 (A Study on Psychological Well-being of Married Female Teachers)

  • 교직이 점차 여성화됨에 따라 기혼 여교사에 대한 사회적 관심이 요구되는 반면 여교사 자신의 심리적 복지 수준에 관한 정보는 지극히 부족한 실정에서, 본 연구의 목적은 기혼 여교사를 개인 및 전문적으로 지원할 수 있는 심리적 복지 수준에 대해서 알아보기 위하여 기혼 여교사의 심리적 복지 수준은 어느 정도이며 기혼 여교사의 심리적 복지 정도는 배경 변인에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있으며 심리적 복지수준에 영향을 미치는 배경변인은 무엇인지를 살펴 보았다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울 경기 지역 소재 초등학교 재직중인 기혼여교사 373명을 대상으로 하였으며 결과 요약은 다음과 같다. 1) 기혼여교사의 심리적 복지 수준 경향은 전체영역은 3.32(5점 척도)로 다소 높게 나타났으며 하위영역인 생활만족도는 3.82로 높게, 우울은 2.64로서 낮게 나타났다. 2) 기혼여교사의 배경변인에 따른 심리적 복지 수준의 차이에 있어서 결혼상태, 주관적 생활수준에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 3) 기혼여교사의 심리적 복지 수준에 대한 배경변인의 상대적 영향력은 주관적 생활수준, 가족관계 심리정서적 건강성, 주관적 행복도로 나타났으며 생활만족도에 대하여 더 큰 설명력을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 기혼여교사의 심리적 복지수준은 보통수준 이상으로 나타나 비교적 심리적으로 건강한 상태인 것을 알 수 있었다. 심리적 복지수준이 높은 교사가 건강한 청소년교육 및 지도로 연결될 수 있을 것으로 예측하여 교사연수를 위한 기초자료 제공에 의의를 가진다고 할 수 있다.

우리나라 국가수준 교육과정의 재난안전 교육내용 비교 분석 : 2019 개정 누리과정과 2015 개정 교육과정을 중심으로 (Comparative Analysis of Disaster Safety Education Contents of National Curriculum in Korea : Focusing on the 2019 Revised Nuri Curriculum and the 2015 Revised Curriculum)

  • 본 연구에서는 국가수준 교육과정에 나타난 재난안전 교육내용을 비교 분석하기 위해 2019 개정 누리과정(유치원)과 2015 개정 교육과정(초 중 고)을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 첫째, 2019 개정 누리과정에서 유아 대상 재난안전 교육내용은 신체운동 건강영역의 '안전하게 생활하기' 내용범주에 '재난'이라는 용어가 명시되어 있다. 둘째, 2015 개정 교육과정에서 초등학생 대상 안전교육내용은 초등1~2학년과 3~6학년과 다른 것으로 나타났다. 초등1~2학년은 창의적 체험활동의 '안전한 생활' 대분류 영역 중 하나인 '재난안전'영역에 재난안전 교육내용이 명확하게 제시된 반면, 초등3~6학년은 체육, 과학, 실과 등의 관련 교과목이나 창의적 체험활동에 안전교육내용이 분산되어 있었다. 셋째, 2015 개정 교육과정에서 중고등학생 대상 안전교육내용 역시 사회, 체육, 과학, 기술 가정 등 관련 교과와 창의적 체험활동에 분산되어 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 우리나라 국가수준 교육과정에 나타난 재난안전 교육내용이 유치원부터 고등학교에 이르기까지 연속성과 체계성을 갖추지 못했음을 보여주었다. 따라서 향후 국가수준 교육과정 개정 시 재난안전 교육내용의 연속성과 체계성 확보를 위한 노력이 필요하다.

중등교과에서 재료가공 단원의 수업방법에 따른 학습 성취도 차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on Learning Achievement Gap in the Secondary Curriculum in Accordance with the Teaching Methods of Materials Processing Section)

  • 본 논문에서는 중학교 기술 가정 교과에서 재료가공 단원의 학습 성취도를 수업 방법에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는지를 연구하였다. 대상 집단은 중학교 2학년과 3학년을 비교하였으며 2, 3 학년 모두 재료가공 단원을 처음 배우는 학생 집단을 선정하였다. 2학년은 교육 매체를 활용하는 방법으로 강의하였으며, 3학년은 전통적인 판서 강의를 하는 방법을 선택하여 학습 성취도를 비교하였다. 6개의 문항에서 정답률을 비교한 결과 교육매체 활용을 한 수업에서는 71.1%의 평균 정답률을 나타내었으나 판서 강의를 한 집단에서의 평균 정답률은 45.3%로 나타났다. 두 집단의 평균 정답률 차이는 25.8% 포인트로 교육매체를 활용한 수업이 학업성취도를 향상시키는데 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.
