Based on the recent laboratory experiments (Kim et al. 2004), comparisons of caisson sliding distance are made between the computations and experiments. The time history model of wave force, which is proposed by Tanimoto et al. (1996), is modified in the standing wave part of horizontal and uplift wave forces because of the overestimation of the time history model. The comparison between experimental and computational sliding distance has showed that the caisson tilting increases the resistant force to the horizontal sliding. Therefore, a titling resistant force, which is caused by caisson tilting, is introduced into computation of sliding distance.

Materials used for repairing and restoring both pottery and porcelain are practically organic, which makes the analysis procedure difficult in the course of time. It is, however, important in the field of conservation to analyze the material applied in the past. In consequence, this research will examine the components of the restoration materials collected in the process of ceramic conservation: the fillings using SEM-EDS and FT-IR; retouching materials; the adhesive used between the filling and retouching material.

The purpose of this paper was to research the history of Korean restaurants in Manhattan, NY in the 1960's-1970's. These Korean restaurants were the pioneers in the globalization of Korean food. It is assumed that 'Mi Cin' was the first Korean restaurant in Manhattan and opened on March $1^{st}$, 1960. In the 1960's, it is estimated that there were four Korean restaurants in Manhattan. In the 1970's, the number of Korean restaurants increased to more than 18, and their main menu items were divided into three types: Korean fusion menu such as 'Lunch Special' for American customers, beef barbecue menu for American and Korean customers, and Korean traditional menu for increasing Korean immigrants.

Is the history of surgery an independent field of research into Chinese medicine? The historical sources are fragmentary, scattered, and riddled with fantastical descriptions. To unlock the references made in sixteenth-century texts to the use of silk thread to stitch up damaged tracheas, which are taken to be factual, the author of this article proposes a research method he calls "investigating precedents." Every independent reference to this kind of surgery must be dealt with separately. We cannot assume, a priori, that a reference to what must have been a very sophisticated procedure is either a far-fetched interpretation or a fabrication, nor should we evaluate it according to modern surgical criteria. Apart from extraordinary cases, we have no records of other types of surgery in the history of Chinese medicine, therefore we must find a method that allows us to investigate these records on their own terms.

This article examines the trend of research on mathematical modeling of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. Through the search engine Google and the library search service of Kyung Hee University, papers that mathematically studied the Yin-Yang Five Elements were searched. Among them, 7 cases published in academic journals were selected and briefly mentioned in the table. And we introduced specific details about four of them. The model format expressing the five elements as a nonlinear system of differential equations was discussed and evaluated.

본 논문에서는 선거예측 조사에 널리 사용되는 출구조사의 역사와 우리나라에서 실시된 출구조사의 문제점과 개선 사항들을 살펴보았다. 출구조사시 불충분한 준비로 발생할 오류들을 검토하였고 이들을 줄이기 위한 사항들을 추가적으로 고려하였다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 보다 정확한 선거 예측을 기대한다.

본 논문은 탈근대화의 영향으로 등장한 카오스 이론의 시각으로, 수학과 미술의 관련성을 연구하였다 중세 말에서 르네상스로 접어드는 13-14세기, 르네상스의 개화기인 15, 16세기 그리고 16세기말에서 바로크 시대로 접어드는 세 시기에 시대정신이 역동적 체계에서 어떻게 구축되는지를 조망하였다. 시간의 흐름과 더불어 역동적으로 변모해가는 문화와 역사는복잡계의 전형이기 때문이다.

Objective: The purposes of this study are to know the relations of abdominal obesity and ischemic stroke and to know what index could represent the abdominal obesity appropriately. Methods. We have done case-control study and recruited 97 ischemic stroke patients and 117 controls. Case is matched by control by individual matching. All participants had questionnaire, interview and then were examined waist-hip ratio, waist circumference and body mass index. Results : WC, WHR and Hypertension history had differences in two groups, case and control groups. But BMI and other factors weren't significant. According to Quartile of Waist Circumference, the two groups had the differences in hypertension history, diabetes history, smoking status, WHR, BMI, and weight and in the Quartile of Waist-Hip Ratio Quartile, past history of hypertension and diabetes, WC, BMI and weight had the significances. Sex, Age Adjusted and Multivariate Odds Ratio (95% Confidence Interval) of WC Quartile are 2.083, 1.628, 4.491 and 4.418, 4.964, 12.306, and in WHR, the Ors are 2.252, 5.743, 15.776 and 2.632, 8.918, 23.596. Conclusions: We knew from these results that abdominal obesity is very important risk factor of ischemic stroke and WHR more than WC is a good indicator of abdominal obesity, so we should reduce the WHR to prevent of ischemic stroke.

This research aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the history of private education in Korea. By delving into the historical aspects of private education, this study aims to uncover key developments, trends, and transformations that have shaped the private education landscape in Korea. By understanding the historical trajectory of private education in Korea, educational practitioners can gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement within the private education industry. The literature analysis has shown that there are four significant historical events for developing private education industry in South Korea. First, Japanese colonial period and its Impact on private education in Korea background and context. Second, education reforms in the 1960s and the rise of hagwons in Korea background and context. Third, the role and impact of private education on the Korean education system. Fourth, Education reforms in the 21st Century and the regulation of private education background and context. In sum, this research provides a comprehensive evaluation of the history of private education in Korea, examining four key historical events and their impact on the private education landscape. The findings reveal important insights into private education's development, role, and impact in Korea.

직관은 참된 지식을 발견하는 도구이며 문제해결 과정에서 번뜩이는 아이디어가 발현되는 것으로 받아들여진다. 직관에 의해 우리는 자명한 사실을 즉각적으로 인식하며, 수학적 사실을 발견하는 힘을 부여받는다. 따라서 직관은 논리와 더불어 수학교육에서 강조해야 할 중요한 주제이다. 인 글에서는 수학 교수$\cdot$학습에서 직관적 사고력의 신장을 위해 직관에 대한 체계적인 연구가 필요함을 인식하고, 이를 위해 수리철학의 역사와 수학적 발견의 역사에서 직관에 대하여 알아보았다.
