지역사란 무엇인가\ulcorner (What is Natural History\ulcorner)

  • The Korean government has recently announced its plan to establish the first National Museum of Natural History. However, the Korean word for natural history, jayonsa, is not a very familiar term to some academics as well as the general public. This article discusses the definition and history of natural history, describes the functions of natural history meseums, and makes suggestions to the establishment of our National Museum. Modern natural history is no longer an art of ‘stamp collecting’. It is a comprehensive scientific endeavor pursuing to enlighten the history of the planet Earth and the diversity of natural objects it contains. Natural history museum must have two museums within the museum: the outer museum for exhibition and general public education and the inner museum for research and specialist education. I hope that our National Museum of Natural History will be a place where we all get to know about Nature and thus to love her.

북미 의학교육 사례가 한의학 교육에 주는 시사점 (The Implications of the Case of Medical Education in North America on Korean Medicine Education)

  • Over the past 100 years, since the establishment of the modern medical education system in the early 1900s, the results of extensive field research and practice in North American medical schools and professional education have led the flow of medical education around the world. In this study, the direction of medical education in North America over the past 100 years were examined through major literature review, leading to implications and suggestions for Korean medicine education. The "Medical Education in the United States and Canada" published by the Carnegie Educational Foundation in 1910, which is considered to have laid the foundation for modern health care education, was reviewed. Next, "Educating physician: A Call for Reform of Medical School and Residency", published in 2010, which is known to have proposed a future-oriented goal for the training of medical professionals has been analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Acquisition and utilization of biomedical knowledge which is the basis of clinical competence, is a basic competency that should be provided to future medical professionals. 2) Beyond education to cultivate clinical competence of individuals directly affecting the medical treatment, various professionalism education programs that capture the specificity of Korean Medicine doctors should be established and strengthened.

A Study on the Consciousness for Korean-Chinese Adaptation in Korea

  • Purpose - This study aims to determine whether history education for Korean-Chinese living in Korea affects their understanding for Korean society. It also aims to determine Korean-Chinese compatriots to recognize the necessity for History education. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, two parts were examined, which were the analysis on the influence of history education and the Korean-Chinese compatriots' adaptation to Korean society. In the case of data survey, Korean-Chinese compatriots were selected who are living in Korea. The survey was conducted using the samples of 200 questionnaires in total. Results - The results of the analysis shows that their residence adaptation in Korea has a positive impact on future nationality. Moreover, the residence adaptation in Korea has positive implications for their future nationality and their longer residence duration in Korea has an effect on their hope for living in Korea. Conclusions - The study showed the historical consciousness and related demographic characteristics of Korean compatriots living in Korea. It also showed that the longer their education duration for Korean history in China, the more difficult their adaptation would be. Therefore, the long term effects of adaptation depended on the emphasis of Korean history.

  • The history of pharmacy in Korea from the era of 'Dangun Mythology' to today was reviewed briefly with special emphases on the beginning of pharmacy education, introduction of modern pharmacy education, establishment of modern educational institutions, and the evolution of the education system to a new 6-year pharmacy program.

과학사 활용 과학 교육에 대한 전문가 의견 조사 (Professionals' Opinion of Science Education Using History of Science)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학 교육에서 과학사 활용을 활성화 시키기 위한 방안에 대한 전문가 의견을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 과학교육학자와 과학사학자를 대상으로 2단계 조사(1차 조사 30명, 2차 조사 84명)를 실시했다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학사 활용 과학 교육에 대한 전문가 의견 조사 825과학사 활용 교육에서 과학의 본성과 관련된 의견이 많이 제시되었다. 둘째, 과학사를 학교 수업에서 활용하기 위한 다양한 교수 학습 자료의 개발을 요구했다. 셋째, 실행 중심의 과학사 활용 교사 연수를 요구했다. 넷째, 일부 영역에 대해서 과학교육학자와 과학사학자간의 의견 차이가 발견되었다. 다섯째, 동양(한국) 과학사에 대한 교육 필요성에 그리 높지 않은 동의를 나타냈다. 특정 영역에 대한 동양(한국) 과학사교수 학습 자료의 개발이 필요하다.

한국 국립자연사박물관 설립 방안 연구 (A Plan on the Establishment of a National Museum of Natural History in South Korea)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 기능이 극대화된 국립자연사박물관을 설립하기 위한 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 1987년부터 2009년까지 국내외 자연사박물관에 대한 방문 조사와 학술적 연구를 통하여 자연사와 자연사박물관의 기원과 변천 과정을 정리하였으며, 국내 자연사 관련 박물관의 질적 양적 수준을 국제적으로 비교 하였다. 한국의 자연사박물관 수는 세계 100위권 밖에 머물러 있고 학문적 연구 능력과 표본 관리 능력 및 출판 능력은 초보적인 수준에 머물러 있다. 특히 연구원의 수가 너무 적고 연구 기반이 구축되어 있지 않으며, 전시-교육 전문가도 턱없이 부족하여 연구 결과물과 학술지를 발간하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고 최적화된 국립자연사박물관을 건립하기 위해서는 국립자연사박물관 설립 전에 연구-표본 관리-출판-전시-교육 기능을 활성화해야 한다.

수학사를 활용한 대안학교의 수학교육 (Mathematics Education for Alternative Schools using History of Mathematics)

  • 현재 우리나라에는 다양한 목적과 특성을 지닌 여러 가지 형태의 대안학교가 있다. 대안학교에서의 수학교육이 일반학교의 수학교육과 같아서는 대안학교의 교육적 이념에 맞는 교육을 실시할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 학교 부적응 학생들을 대상으로 하는 대안학교에서 이루어지는 수학교육의 문제점을 교육내용 교수방법 교육환경의 세 가지 측면에서 살펴보고, 대안학교 학생들에게 적합한 수학교육의 한 방법으로 수학사를 활용한 수학교육에 대하여 알아본다.

통감부 시기 금지된 역사교과서 연구 (A Study of prohibited history textbooks In Japan intervention period)

  • This study analyzes and compares the contents of the prohibited history textbooks to the officiated curriculum textbooks during the Japanese Intervention period. By doing so the study will discuss the curriculum regulation through the new educational sociology aspects. The results are as follows. First, the Residency-General placed Japanese advisors in educational faculties to prepare a foundation for colonial education. It was intended to influence the educational system and its contents by displaying their superiority represented by their group of elites. Second, In 1908, the authorities issued the textbook regulation, which controlled the contents of the education before the book was published. The standard for the regulation was to exclude contents that are disadvantageous to Japan, and is favorable to colonial rules. Third, The prohibited textbooks contained contents that violate the standards. This shows that during the Residency -General period the textbook examination system was a tool to control school curriculum. Fourth, after comparing the contents of both prohibited textbooks and regulated textbooks, the prohibited history textbooks included the national independence, the victory over the Japanese, patriotism, and unfavorable relations with Japan. On the other hand, the regulated textbooks omitted patriotism and ethnicity-independent content, and instead filled its content with a friendly relationship Korea had with Japan at the time. This phenomenon proves that knowledge and the way of thinking are favorable towards superior groups of society and have an influence in determining the content of school education. This is the new education sociology theology.

In new curriculum, loaming are highly reduced and mediated. This curriculum is characterized by the slow and interesting Arithmetic education focusing on creativity, student-based Arithmetic education, and real life-related Arithmetic education.

  • The paper analyzes the philosophy of mathematics and outlook on the mathematics education as the philosophy of mathematics in the history of mathematics. We have found that various views of the human society have led us to the various philosophy of mathematics. This change of philosophy have important implications to the didactics of mathematics. This study tries to find out the direction of outlook on the mathematics education in the future.
