Presently, domestic SCP method with low replacement ratio is required as alternative in order to overcome the profitability of the sand resource because of the deficiency phenomenon of the sand resource by the actual condition design and construction is made by SCP method with low replacement ratio more than 70% for the port construction in the safe side. Sand compaction pile(SCP) method has been mainly used to improve the properties of soft clay or loose sandy ground. In design of SCP at soft clay ground, it is very important to determine the stress concentration ratio of composite ground relevant to the area replacement ratio. In this study, 2-dimensional FEM analyses were carried out to evaluate the stress concentration ratio of composite ground depending upon the area replacement ratio. When the interpretation result replacement ratio was 30%, the stress assigned rate showed and as the replacement ratio was high, the stress assigned rate according to the sinkage showed the low stress assigned rate.

Recently, there are quite a lot of attention is drown on the researches related to of Miller method applied high expansion cycle. For this study, high expansion cycles are formed and analyzed with the base view point of thermodynamics, and the features of each factors are also investigated. As a result of analysis, the expansion-compression ratio is expected with a decrease of effective compression ratio as intake valve closing time retarded, however, the decrease of mean effective pressure and its output is accompanied with the counterflow of intake air. Accordingly, as the consequence of such failure, it is expected that an alternative is needed for the realization of high expansion cycles, and the improvement over thermal efficiency. To materialize such cycle, the control system to delay the closing time of intake valve was designed and VVT, the 3 S/B low speed diesel engine, is applied to evaluate the efficiency. The result of the trial shows that there was no significant errors.
This study was conducted to determine the smoke component concentration and the smoke distribution in the cambridge filter pad and cigarette filter with stalk position and grade of Korean leaf tobaccos. 12 grades of flue-cured and burley leaf tobaccos which were taken from the Kim-cheon and Ock-cheon leaf tobacco processing factory were used for this study. Six kinds of smoke components such as tar, nicotine, water, carbon monoxide(CO), carbon dioxide($CO_2$) puff No. collected in the cambridge filter pad and cigarette filter were analyzed. Also, nicotine/tar, CO/tar ratio were calculated from the analytical data. Puff no., CO, and $CO_2$ concentration of flue-cured and burley tobacco leaves at high stalk position were higher than those of low stalk position, and these components were increased in high grade of leaf tobacco. Compared with flue-cured tobacco, burley tobacco showed a little values of puff no., nicotine, and tar concentration. The pH range of burley tobaccos was broader than that of flue-cured tobaccos, and the ammonia concentration of burley tobaccos was significantly higher than that of flue-cured tobaccos. The pH value and ammonia concentration of burley tobaccos were decreased as stalk position of leaf tobaccos decreased. The distribution of smoke components collected in the cambridge filter pad and cigarette filter was different with a different grade and stalk position of tobacco leaves. In high stalk position of tobacco leaves, the portion of smoke components collected in the cambridge filter pad was also increased. The average nicotine, water, and tar removal efficiency by a cigarette filter in a flue-cured tobacco were 37%, 64%, and 48%, respectively. Compared with flue-cured tobaccos, smoke components of burley tobaccos had high nicotine and low water removal efficiency by a cigarette filter. The average ratio of nicotine/tar and CO/tar of flue-cured tobaccos and burley tobaccos were 0.097, 1.22, 0.094, and 0.97, in order. Nicotine/tar ratio was decreased and CO/tar ratio was increased in low stalk position.
For the increase of productivity, canopy structure and nutritional status in various productivity grades (high>700, medium>600 and low>500kg/l0a as head rice) were investigated in a study using Jinheung(Oryza sativa L.) for the increase of producticity with following results: 1. High yield plot showed greater leaf area and slow decrease of it after heading stage. While low yield plot had rapidly decrease of leaf area. 2. High yield plot showed higher light transmission ratio (LTR) durnig early grow stage, low LTR. during late grow stage, and higher leaf area per LTR. 3. Net assimilation ratio was decrease with the increase of leaf area index (LAI) and it was always higher in high yield plot. 4. High yield plant had greater amount of total nitrogen uptake, slow uptake rate, and considerable uptake after heading while low yield plant showed higher uptake of nitrogen in early stage of growth and no uptake after heading. 5. The percent ratio starch at heading to total at harvesting was 40% for low yield plant and 10% for highyield plant inderting that high yield depends much on past-heading starch synthesis. 6. Main factor determining secondary yield was ripened grain ratio.
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of various dietary unsaturated to saturated fatty acids ratios (UFA to SFA ratios) on growth performance, carcass traits, blood lipid parameters, tissue fatty acid (FA) composition, and meat quality of finishing pigs. Methods: A total of 45 crossbred pigs ([Duroc×Landrace]×Yorkshire), with an average initial body weight of 60.3±2.4 kg, were randomly allocated to three treatment groups of 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 dietary UFA to SFA ratios. Results: Both average daily gain and average daily feed intake of pigs were decreased linearly (p<0.05), whereas backfat thickness was decreased linearly (p<0.05) with increasing of dietary UFA to SFA ratio. Serum triglyceride and low density lipoprotein cholesterol were decreased quadratically or linearly (p<0.05) respectively, whereas high density lipoprotein cholesterol was increased quadratically (p<0.05) with increasing dietary UFA to SFA ratio. In M. longissimus thoracis, the proportion of C18:1 and monounsaturated FA was decreased linearly (p<0.05), whereas the proportion of C18:2n-6, C20:4n-6 and polyunsaturated FA (PUFA) were increased linearly (p<0.05) as dietary UFA to SFA ratio increased. In the subcutaneous adipose tissue, the proportion of SFA was decreased linearly (p<0.05), whereas the proportion of n-6 PUFA, n-3 PUFA, and the UFA to SFA ratios were increased linearly (p<0.05) with increasing of dietary UFA to SFA ratio. Meat color scores and shear force of pigs were decreased linearly (p<0.05), whereas drip loss and cooking loss were increased linearly (p<0.05) with increasing of dietary UFA to SFA ratio. Conclusion: Appropriately boosted dietary UFA to SFA ratio could be conductive to optimize blood lipid parameters and tissue FA composition. However, when the ratio is too high or too low it tends to have negative effects on growth performance and meat quality.

In this paper, we consider a low-complex companding technique for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. For the technique, we propose a novel companding function to compensate the problem of the conventional companding functions which are difficult to design complying with system requirements and deteriorate the bit error rate (BER) performance significantly. The proposed scalable companding function can provide an arbitrary value of the maximum PAPR with which the BER performance changes gracefully. In addition, the proposed companding function can be designed readily according to the PAPR and BER performance required by the system and is observed to provide better BER performance than the conventional clipping and $\mu$-low companding schemes under the similar PAPR condition.
The silicon nitride ($SiN_x$) film for surface passivation and anti-reflection coating of crystalline silicon solar cell is very important and it is generally deposited by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). PECVD can be divided into low and high frequency method. In this paper, the $SiN_x$ film deposited by low and high frequency PECVD method was studied. First, to optimize the $SiN_x$ film deposited by low frequency PECVD method, the refractive index was measured by varying the process conditions like $SiH_4$, $NH_3$, $N_2$ gas rate, and RF power. When $SiH_4$ gas rate was increased and $NH_3$ gas rate was decreased, the refractive index was increased. The refractive index was also increased with RF power decline. Second, to compare the characteristics of the low and high frequency PECVD $SiN_x$ film, the refractive index was measured by varying $NH_3/SiH_4$ gas ratio and RF power and the minority carrier lifetime of before and after high temperature treatment process was also measured. The refractive index of both low and high frequency PECVD $SiN_x$ film was decreased with increase in $NH_3/SiH_4$ gas ratio and RF power. After high temperature treatment process, the minority carrier lifetime of both low and high frequency PECVD $SiN_x$ film was increased and increased degree was similar. The minority carrier lifetime of low frequency PECVD $SiN_x$ was increased from $11.03{\mu}m$ to $28.24{\mu}m$ and that of high frequency PECVD $SiN_x$ was increased from $11.60{\mu}m$ to $27.10{\mu}m$.
An experiment was made in order to analyze the growth characteristics and productivity of Zoysia japonica under control, mowing and TIBA treatment conditions at the experimental farm of Kyung Hee univ. from May 26 to Oct. 1 in 1985. The field was planned by the randomized block design method and each treatment was given to three plots (2${\times}$2, 4${\times}$4 and 10${\times}$10 cm) and was replicated three times. Each plot was 1$m^2$ for Zoysia japonica. The sampling of each plot was taken once a week after sowing. In order to know the dry matter of total standing crops, kept 9$0^{\circ}C$ and weighted each organ of the plants. Total leaf area of a plant was measured by drawing method. The author adopted the growth analysis of English School. The increasing rates of numbers of leaf and stem were remarkably high in each plot between 10th and 12th weak after sowing and it was highest in TIBA treated plot. The increasin rate of leaf area in each plot was remarkably high beween 10th and 12th week and the maximum value of leaf area was 274.00c$m^2$ in TIBA treated plot of 100 plants/$m^2$. The increasing rate of standing crop was remarkably high between 10th and 12th week and the high increasing tendency in TIBA plot resulted from TIBA. The positive correlationship was founded between standing crop and leaf area. The evaporation rather than temperature acted as a main factor of negative correlation with standing crop during the experiment period. Solar radiation had a high positive correlation in the lower density of plot. C/F ratio was low, during the growth period, from 10th to 12th week after sowing and was low in the higher density under each treated plot. T/R ratio was not constant during the sampling period but was high in the lower density. The increasing rates of RGR and NAR were high between 11th and 12th week after sowing. Leaf area ratio was high in higher density in each plot and not constant in all treated plot.

Nine tests to failure are performed on full-scale eight composite beams with unreinforced web opening having ribbed slabs with formed deck which are perpendicular to the steel section and one steel beam. The effects of slab width, reinforcing of stud, moving of rib, moment-shear ratio are studied. At the low M/V ratio, Vierendeel action around the high moment end of the opening is occurred and the large deflection across the opening and transverse cracking are occurred with increasing of applied load. As the M/V ratio increases, the relative deflection across the opening decreases. And at failure, full tensile strain are occurred at bottom T section of steel beam, and concrete crushes at the High Moment End of the opening. With narrow slabs, diagonal tension failure at the high moment end of the opening is occurred. And with wide slabs, rib punch-through failure is occurred near the high moment end of the opening. The implications for design are discussed.
An experiment was made in order to analyze the growth characteristics and productivity of Zoysia japonica under control, mowing and TIBA treatment conditions at the experimental farm of Kyung Hee University. The field was planned by the split plot design method and each treatment was given to two plots (40$\times$40 and 100$\times$100 mm) and was replicated three times. Each plot was 9$m^2$ for Zoysia japonica. The sampling of each plot was taken once a week after sowing. In order to know the dry matter of total standing crops, each organ of plants was kept at 9$0^{\circ}C$ and weighed. Total leaf area of a plant was measured by drawing method. The author adopted the growth analysis of English School. Holocellulose analysis by sodium chlorite method was made. The increasing rate of LAI was high in all plots between 10th and 12th week after sowing and high growth rate of assimilatory organ was observed in low density area of TIBA plot. Between 10th and 12th week after sowing all the experimental plots showed high increasing rate of standing crop and in the process of growth each density area of TIBA plot recorded high increasing rate. In all the plots F/C ratio and RGR were high when the growth rate of assimilatory organ was increasing cosiderably, and the higher the planting density was, the higher F/C ratio was recorded. In all the plots NAR recorded maximum rate before the growth period to show a high increase of RGR. In the process of the growth TIBA plot showed high icnreasing rate of NAR. CGR showed high value in high density areas of all the plots and reached its maximum in the 13th week after sowing. Compared to the other experimental areas the low planting density areas of control plot and TIBA plot showed considerable earlier lignification indicating low Holocellulose content in the growth process.
