To facilitate the base station planning in high speed railway communication systems, it is necessary to consider the functional relationships between the base station transmit power and space parameters such as train velocity and cell radius. Since these functions are able to present some inherent system properties determined by its spatial topology, they will be referred to as the power-space functions in this paper. In light of the fact that the line-of-sight path persists the most power of the received signal of each passing train, this paper considers the average transmission rate and bounds on power-space functions based on the additive white Gaussian noise channel (AWGN) model. As shown by Monte Carlo simulations, using AWGN channel instead of Rician channel introduces very small approximation errors, but a tractable mathematical framework and insightful results. Particularly, lower bounds and upper bounds on the average transmission rate, as well as transmit power as functions of train velocity and cell radius are presented in this paper. It is also proved that to maintain a fixed amount of service or a fixed average transmission rate, the transmit power of a base station needs to be increased exponentially, if the train velocity or cell radius is increased, respectively.
This paper presents a functional ability improvement of auto-reclosing relay in the power transmission line protection. When the high speed auto-reclosing is successful, Auto-reclosing is practically valuable to improve the transient stability limit of a power system, but it is fail due to surviving fault, both electrical and mechanical stresses can result on the transformers and turbine-generator. It is true that the longer dead time of the reclosing relay gives the higher rate of successful reclosing, On the other hand, the power system does not always need high speed reclosing because of enough stability margin. This paper proposed "stability margin based dead time reclosing" in order to decrease not only the rate of unsuccessful reclosing, but the possibility of the harmful stress also. On-line transient stability assessment using artificial neural network, for implementing the proposed scheme, has studied and tested with resonable results.

This paper shows a whole noise quality checking system for the new developed 6th speed automatic transmission manufactured in USA. Due to demand for manufacturing of the high NVH quality transmissions in the mass product line, some special checking system called EOL is adapted. This EOL system is using vibration analysis technologies. Through adapting vibration analysis technologies and functions likewise RMS, Crest Factor, Harmonics, Peak, Band, and Order tracking, various noise problems caused by wear, nick, and deformations could be successfully detected and predicted. Therefore, automatic transmissions manufactured in the USA could get high NVH quality.

Recently, As the higher frequency in clock of digital system being demanded and the density of circuits gets high for purpose of making light and minimizing system, the study for solution of digital signal distortion being interested. In this paper, the distortion of square pulse caused by dispersion as it propagates along a single microstrip line and crosstalk between lines on the Multi-Transmission Lines (MTL) is investigated. The dispersion and crosstalk of pulse signals is analyzed regarding to the structure of transmission line such as relative permittivity, substrate height, strip width of the microstrip line and pulse width of signal pulse.

Recently, the development of smartphone camera technology enables to shoot high quality video. In order to utilize these techniques in various ways, it is necessary to be able to transmit signals to an external device such as a external display. The transmission performance of the video signal is determined by the loss of the transmission line and the length of the wiring. In this paper, we propose the HDMI transmission line design criterion according to the wiring length changed according to the smartphone design and the surface roughness amplitude of the printed circuit board conductor wiring material. Also, we verified the proposed design criteria for the actual smartphone design. The proposed design criterion can be applied to various application fields including high-speed signal transmission line besides mobile application.

KJJVC(Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator) was installed at the KJCC(Korea-Japan Correlation Center) and has been operated by KASI(Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) from 2009. KJNC is able to correlate the VLBI observed data through KVN(Korean VLBI Network), VERA(VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry), and JVN(Japanese VLBI Network) and its joint network array. And it is used exclusively as computer in order to process the observed data for the scientific purpose KJJVC used the VSI(VLBI Standard Interface) as the VLBI international standard at the data input-output specification between each component. Especially, for correlating the observed data, the data is transmitted with 1024Mbps speed between Mark5B high-speed playback and RVDB(Raw VLBI Data Buffer). The EMI(Electromagnetic lnterference), which is occurred by data transmission with high-speed, cause the data loss and the loss occurrence is frequently often for long transmission cable. Finally it will be caused the data recognition error by decreasing the voltage level of digital data signal. In this paper, in order to minimize the data loss by measuring the EMI noise level in transmission of the VSI specification, the 3 methods such as 1) RC filtering method, 2) lmpedance matching using Microstrip line, and 3) Signal buffering method using Differential line driver, were proposed. To verify the effectiveness of each proposed method, the performance evaluation was conducted by implementing and simulations for each method. Each proposed method was effectively confirmed as the high-speed data transmission of the VSI specification.
This paper presents the self-matched line pulse generator and the concerned principles on its operation and characteristics are mentioned. The circuit consists of a charged transmission line and a high speed switch, and it generates a square wave pulse with the very fast rise time. The generated waveform depends on the load resistance. As the load resistance is infinite, a single rectangular wave pulse is generated and its efficiency is nearly unity.

In this paper, we design and implement a high speed power-line communication modem, supported up to the transmission rate of 480kbps in a lower frequency band of under 450kHz. The power-line channel model is discussed in the sense of the lower frequency band, and the transmission technique of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is considered to improve the throughput effectively. According to the power-line channel variation, the designed modem can select the modulation mapping between a 16-QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) or a QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying). Thus, it makes a sufficient QoS even in a poor channel environments. With a implementation result, we show that it gives a variable transmission rate of 480kbps or 240kbps in the signal bandwidth of $50kHz{\sim}450kHz$.

This paper discusses a far-end crosstalk (FEXT) canceller for twisted-pair transmission. Many twisted-pair systems such as fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC), very high-speed digital subscriber line (VDSL), and high-speed LAN systems, use frequency-division duplexing (FDD) for duplex transmission. It is shown that the maximum reach of FDD twisted-pair system is limited by the performance of its upstream channel, which is located at higher frequencies than the downstream channel. In order to improve the performance of such FDD transceiver, FEXT cancellation is introduced for the channel at higher frequencies. A system arrangement and its blind start-up procedure are studied when the FEXT canceller and equalizer are jointly adapted to combat channel intersymbol interference (ISI), FEXT, and other additive noise. The initial convergence and the steady-state behavior of the proposed twisted-pair system without requiring transmission of an ideal training sequence are investigated. Measured characteristics as well as analytical model of the FEXT channel are used to estimate the time span needed for the FEXT canceller. It is also shown that the memory span for the FEXT canceller is almost independent of the channel, thus making our results useful for the twisted-pair system over all different channels.
This study was carried out about the design and the performance study of propulsion system for Korean High Speed Train of maximum operating speed of 350km/h. The propulsion system was studied to two parts the formation of power transmission and the performance of traction system base on Korean-TGV. For maximum operating speed of 350km/h at Seoul-Pusan high speed line, the power of train should be have the remaining acceleration of 0.058m/s/s and the slopeability of 6%o. This performance study of propulsion system would be continued for defining of adhesion factor, friction factor and aerodynamic factor assumed to analysis and simulation.
