The iterative sliding mode observer is proposed to control sensorless PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). Proposed sliding mode observer has the character which is robust to the disturbance and parameter variation. Low pass filter with the variable cutoff frequency is also proposed to compensate rotor angle, it is led to saving memory and minimizing operation time. Experimental results shows that the proposed sliding mode observer leads to the proper performance.
This paper presents neural load disturbance observer that used to deadbeat load torque observer and regulation of the compensation gain by parameter estimator. As a result, the response of PMSM follows that of the nominal plant. The load torque compensation method is compose of a neural deadbeat observer. To reduce of the noise effect, the post-filter, which is implemented by MA process, is proposed. The parameter compensator with RLSM (recursive least square method) parameter estimator is suggested to increase the performance of the load torque observer and main controller. The proposed estimator is combined with a high performance neural torque observer to resolve the problems. As a result, the proposed control system becomes a robust and precise system against the load torque and the parameter variation. A stability and usefulness, through the verified computer simulation, are shown in this paper.

Recently, super high-speed motor drives have been available due to the development of power electronics technology And they are used in various fields of industry because of their advantages. This paper describes the control algorithm for a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) drive at the speed of 118,000r/min using DSP and IGBT inverter. Hall sensors are implemented to measure the rotor position and speed, and a speed observer is used to reduce the performance deterioration caused by the low resolution of hall sensors. To enhance the output power capacity in the high-speed operating region, a flux weakening controller which also can work as an anti-wind up controller is used. Computer simulations and experiments are peformed to validate the proposed method.
A predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo systems is proposed in this paper. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop. Since the accuracy of the PFC model is influenced by external disturbances and speed detection quantization errors of the low distinguishability optical encoder in servo systems, it is noted that the standard PFC method does not achieve satisfactory results in the presence of strong disturbances. This paper adopted the Kalman filter to observe the load torque, the rotor position and the rotor angular velocity under the condition of a limited precision encoder. The observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC method, called the PFC+Kalman filter method, is presented, and a high performance PMSM servo system was achieved. The validity of the proposed controller was tested via experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.

In this paper, the rotor losses in high-speed permanent synchronous motor (PMSM) considering the operating condition are discussed. In order to maintain the mechanical integrity of a high-speed permanent magnet machine rotor intended for high-speed operation, the rotor assembly is often retained within a stainless steel or Carbon-Fiber/Epoxy sleeve. The sleeve is exposed to fields produced by the stator from either the slotting or the mmf harmonics that are not synchronous with rotor losses. On the basis of analytical field analysis, the rotor losses are analyzed. In particular, the no-load, rated with air-cooled, and forced water cooled conditions are considered. The results are validated extensively by comparison with non-linear finite element method (FEM).

Turbo compressor needs high speed rotation of impeller in structure, high rated gearbox and conventional induction motor. This mechanical system increased the moment of inertia and mechanical friction loss. Resently, the study of turbo compressor applied super high speed motor and drive, removing gearbox made its sire small and mechanical friction loss minimum. This paper describes the implementation of the vector control schemes for a variable-speed 131㎾ PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive in super-high speed application.
This paper presents a microprocesser based Self-Controller for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM), fed by voltage soure inverter. The proper operation of the PMSM can be ensured only if the stator current is always synchronized with the its Back-E.M.F. The use of incremantal encoder with high resolution makes it possible to design a Self-Control led P.W.M. inverter. The pulse ratios are controlled to reduce the torque ripple in the low-speed drive region. And during the operation, torque - speed characteristics are improved by the control of optimal load angle.
The PI controller has many trial-and-error steps for gain design. This paper proposes a new design concept. In this method, a degree of stability and Kharitonov theory are applied and the controller gain is directly expressed by system parameters and current controller's bandwidth. Simulation results for permanent magnetic synchronous motor(PMSM) driving systems confirm the validity of proposed method.

The next generation domestic high speed railway system is a power distributed type and uses vector control method for motor speed control. Nowadays, inverter driven induction motor system is widely used. However, recently PMSM drives are deeply considered as a alternative candidate instead of an induction motor drive system due to their advantages in efficiency, noise reduction and maintenance. The next-generation high speed train is composed of 2 converter units, 4 inverter units, and 4 Traction Motor units. Each motor is connected to the inverter directly. In this paper, the effect of IPMSM parameter variations to the system operation characteristics of the multi inverter drive high speed train system are investigated. The parallel connected inverter input-output characteristics are analyzed to the parameter mismatches of IPMSM using the 1C1M control simulator based on Matlab/Simulink.

A centrifugal compressor of 50HP for reverse brayton cryocooler using neon as a coolent has been developed. It has relatively low total-to-total pressure ratio but mass flow rate is very small and the voting gas, neon, has greater specific heat ratio than air. It was essential to have very high rotational speed of 100,000 RPM. The efficiency of compressor has great effects on overall system and the COP of cryocooler. To meet the design requirement of the compressor efficiency and to minimized the required rotational speed, highly efficiency impeller having low specific speed was designed. To maintain the overall system efficient high, gas bearing of bump type and high speed permanent magnet synchronus motor was developed and adopted. In this paper, design and performance prediction results of the compressor impeller is presented.
