This paper is to investigate the fire endurance of high performance concrete with the contents of cellulose fiber. According to test results, the use of CL lead to decrease in fluidity. For compressive strength, the use of CL had no influence on compressive strength. For spalling properties, plain concrete showed a severe spalling failure. The use of CL protected from spalling of concrete, but most specimens had scale failure and partial destruction of specimens. This is due to the insufficient fiber length and diameter of CL fiber, which was unable to discharging the internal vapour pressure. For this reason, CL fiber can not be used to protect from spalling oh high performance concrete. Residual strength was observed to $5\~7\%$ of original strength.

Recently, It has increased to use ultra high strength concrete. It is effective to mix organic fibers for preventing spalling. But if fiber mixed, flowability of concrete is decreases. The aim of this study is to evaluation of fire resistance performance for fiber-mixed ultra high strength concrete on field application. As a result, flowability of nylon fiber mixed concrete is better than polyethylene fiber mixed. In non-fiber and polyethylene fiber mixed concrete, spalling occurred. And strain converged at 0.004. Also, residual strength could not evaluate. Nylon fiber mixed concrete is effective to prevent spalling. And it remians 50% residual strength compare with compressive strength at room temperature.

Fly ash is the most common artificial pozzolan, which is a material precipitated electrostatically from the exhaust gases of coal-fired power stations. Fly ash can be used as the supplementary material as well as the material for high performance concrete and hence, the development of high-volume fly ash concrete is imperative. In this study, the characteristics of drying shrinkage of high volume fly ash concrete is investigated. It is found from test results that as the replaced amount of fly ash in concrete is increased, drying shrinkage of concrete is reduced.

In this research, the effect of types of aggregate and SP on fundamental properties of ultra-high performance concrete of 80 MPa of compressive strength was evaluated to provide solution for high cost of ultra-high performance concrete. As the results of a series of tests, the mixture using limestone and silica aggregates showed improved workability rather than the mixture using granite aggregate. For compressive strength of UHPC, the UHPC mixtures using limestone and silica aggregates showed higher compressive strength than the UHPC mixture using granite aggregate while all mixtures satisfied target compressive range.
The development of modern concrete technology makes it much easier to produce high-strength concrete (HSC) or ultra-high-strength concrete (UHSC) with high workability. However, the application of this concrete is limited in practical construction of traditional reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to low-ductility performance. To further push up the limit of the design concrete strength, concrete-filled-steel-tube (CFST) columns have been recommended considering its superior strength and ductility performance. However, the beneficial composite action cannot be fully developed at early elastic stage as steel dilates more than concrete and thereby reducing the elastic strength and stiffness of the CFST columns. To resolve this problem, external confinement in the form of steel rings is proposed in this study to restrict the lateral dilation of concrete and steel. In this paper, a total of 29 high-strength CFST (HSCFST) columns of various dimensions cast with concrete strength of 75 to 120 MPa concrete and installed with external steel rings were tested under uni-axial compression. From the results, it can be concluded that the proposed ring installation can further improve both strength and ductility of HSCFST columns by restricting the column dilation. Lastly, an analytical model calculating the uni-axial strength of ring-confined HSCFST columns is proposed and verified based on the Von-Mises and Mohr-Coulomb failure criteria for steel tube and in-filled concrete, respectively.

Bond between reinforcing bars and the surrounding concrete is supposed to safely transfer load in the design process of reinforced concrete structures. Bar with high relative rib area will be studied further not only static load but also dynamic loading conditions to sustain better performance of bond for reinforced concrete structures under earthquake. To determine the bond behavior of high ribbed bars in beam and column joints under repeated loads, 31 pullout specimens were tested. Bond strength increases as relative rib area increases. Also the effect of relative rib area on bond is larger in cyclic loading than in monotonic loading.
In the design of reinforced concrete structural walls, in order to ensure adequate inelastic displacement behaviour and to sustain deformation demands imposed by strong ground motions, special reinforcement is considered while designing. However, these would lead to severe reinforcement congestion and difficulties during construction. Addition of randomly distributed discrete fibres in concrete improves the flexural behaviour of structural elements because of its enhanced tensile properties and this leads to reduction in congestion. This paper deals with effect of addition of steel fibres on the behavior of high performance fibre reinforced cement concrete (HPFRCC) slender structural walls with the different volume fractions of steel fibres. The specimens were subjected to quasi static lateral reverse cyclic loading until failure. The high performance concrete (HPC) used was obtained based on the guidelines given in ACI 211.1 which was further modified by prof.Aitcin (1998). The volume fraction of the fibres used in this study varied from 0 to 1% with an increment of 0.5%. The results were analysed critically and appraised. The study indicates that the addition of steel fibres in the HPC structural walls enhances the first crack load, strength, initial stiffness and energy dissipation capacity.
In this study, the fracture toughness $K_{IC}$ of high performance concrete (HPC) was determined by conducting three-point bending tests on eighty notched HPC beams of $500mm{\times}100mm{\times}100mm$ at high temperatures up to $450^{\circ}C$ (hot) and in cooled-down states (cold). When the concrete beams exposed to high temperatures for 16 hours, both thermal and hygric equilibriums were generally achieved. $K_{IC}$ for the hot concrete sustained a monotonic decrease tendency with the increasing temperature, with a sudden drop at $105^{\circ}C$. For the cold concrete, $K_{IC}$ sustained a two-stage decrease trend, dropping slowly with the heating temperature up to $150^{\circ}C$ and rapidly thereafter. The fracture energy-based fracture toughness $K_{IC}$' was found to follow similar decrease trends with the heating temperature. The weight loss, the fracture energy and the modulus of rapture were also evaluated.

The objective of this study is to optimize the use of mineral admixtures (silica fume, fly ash, and blast furnace slag) in high-performance concrete for bridge deck overlay. For this purpose, high-performance concrete, incorporating mineral admixtures, was tested for compressive strength and permeability. The Box Behnken design was used to determine the optimum mix proportions of the mineral admixtures. The optimized mix compositions were then technically evaluated. Test results are compare with the performance specification for high performance concrete overlay on bridge deck. The optimum mix proportions were shown to possess acceptable properties. Also, it is possible to save the construction and materials costs result from a reduction In actual material cost and from the use of widely avaliable truck mixers instead of mobile mixers.
