A Micro Actuator using Meissner Effect of High Tc Superconducting Film (Meissnac)

  • A problem of the surface friction is inevitable in the micro machines. However, the levitation by Meissner effect of high Tc superconductor gives a complete solution to the problem. The repulsive force between permanent magnets and superconductors is utilized to levitate and actuate micro structures without the surface friction. In this paper, a micro actuator using; Meissner effect of high Tc superconducting film (Meissnac) is proposed ; Meissnac is drived by the control of (Sugerconducting/ Normal) states of superconductor. The levitating force and the driving force are analyzed by the numerical method.

  • The temperature dependent Josephson critical current $J_c(T)/J_c(0)$ between high $T_c$ superconductors along the a-axis is theoretically studied. The interface influence on the wave functions of quasi-particles is included in the theory within the framework of the two-dimensional t-J model. It is found that the experimental results can be satisfactorily explained by the present model with d wave pairing symmetry.

Syntheses and Properties of the High-Tc Superconductive Bi_{2-x}Mo_xSr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ System

  • The superconducting properties have been studied for high-Tc superconductors of the $Bi_{2-x}Mo_xSr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ system (x = 0.03-0.30). The crystal structure is pseudo tetragonal with the average lattice parameters a = 5.38 ${\AA}$, b = 5.44 ${\AA}$ and c = 30.6 ${\AA}$. All samples exhibit superconductivity with Tc offset at 79 K and Tc onset at 90-115 K. The Tc onset point decreases with increasing x, but the Tc offset points are nearly the same for all samples. Scanning electron micrographs show a special growth behavior of the grains with a plate shape. It is suggested that the decrease in Tc onset points with substitution of Mo for Bi is due to the decrease in lattice parameters and to the p-orbital of Mo. It is concluded that Mo does not play a crucial role in the superconducting transition of the $Bi_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ system.

  • The properties of Pb-doped Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Super-conductors prepared by solidstate reaction have been studied. Zero resistance was attained at l03K for the sample sintered 845[$^{\circ}C$]for 264hours and it was depended upon sintering conditions. From XRD data low Tc phase and high Tc phase were observed and the volume fraction of high Tc phase increased with increase in sintering period. The grain size increased with increase in sintering temperature and time.

  • High Tc Y-Ba-Cu-O Superconductors were fabricated by sintering, sintering + HIP and Hot Pressing. Specimens were sintered at $940^{\circ}C$ and $960^{\circ}C$. In case that sintered specimens were treated by HIP, the relative density was increased 5-6% in comparison with sintered ones. X-ray analysis of each specimens represented orthorhombic phase and Tc measurements showed a sharp drop in the temperature range $95-88^{\circ}K$. The relative density of hot pressed samples was lower than 80%.

  • High TC Y-Ba-Cu-O Superconductors were fabricated by sintering, sinter+HIP encapsulation. Specimens were sintered at 920$^{\circ}C$∼960$^{\circ}C$. A part of sintered specimens were treated by HIP, and HIP conditions were 150 MPa, 880$^{\circ}C$, 30min under the Ar atmosphere. The relative density of HIP specimens was increased 5∼8% in comparison with sintered one(90∼93% relative density). X-ray analysis represented the orthorhobic-tetragonal phase transition with annealing condition. Tc measurements showed a sharp drp within 3$^{\circ}C$, 91K onset and 89K offset. Transport current density(Jc) of sintered specimens showed typically∼159A/㎤ but that of sinter+HIP encapsulation was decreased to∼89A/㎤ because of insufficient oxygen diffusion, Hardness(H) and Toughness(Kc) were increased to 38GPa; and 2.9 MPam$\^$$\frac{1}{2}$/, respectively.

차단기 적용을 위한 초전도체의 합성 (Electric Properties of High-Tc Ceramic Superconductor for Breaker)

  • This aim of this study was to develop a process for creating bulk single-crystal YBaCuO superconductors in a high magnetic field. To support the bulk unidirectional growth of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$, $SmBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ seeds were planted inside YBaCuO composites and samples were produced by melting, enabling the growth of two YBaCuO superconductors. Due to the magnetism generated inside the superconductor of the upper sample, the magnetization inside the superconducting single crystals was evenly distributed, the sharpness of the induced magnetic force was improved, and the superconducting magnetization were significantly improved. This approach is widely applicable for the production of superconducting wires and current leads used for DC power breakers.

  • YBa2Cu3O7-x oxide superconductors were fabricated by sintering and hotisostatic pressing (HIP), and their microstructures and properties were compared with each other. Thougha part of the second phase was observed along grain boundaries, their structures were consisted of single (123) phase and they had many porosities. But, porosities were remakably reduced by Hiping and the densification was brought about. The structure of (123) compound also showed a number of twins, which are typical of high Tc superconductors. The on-set temperature of YBa2Cu3O7-x compound sintered at 96$0^{\circ}C$ in oxygen and hipped at 88$0^{\circ}C$ was highest, but that shwoed 0 resistance at 87$^{\circ}$K, which is a little lower than the compound sintered at 96$0^{\circ}C$. HIP treatment also increased the critical current density of as-sintered compound. However, its value was low, which may be ascribed to the many pores of starting-sintered compact and partially to the second phase along grain boundaries.

  • In this study, a new sintered specimens of Y$\_$1-x/Sm$\_$x/Ba$_2$Cu$_3$O$\_$y/ is composed by substituting Sm for a part of Y in the YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$\_$y/ high Tc superconductor, in order to study of making (Y$.$Sm)-Ba-Cu-O system sintered specimens and their characteristics. An their change affected on superconductivity and their characteristics are studied by changing the x range of the composition rate. The resistances of electrical characteristics under the conditions of the composition and the temperature are measured by using Ac four probe method in the procedure of this experiments. And it is confirmed that the Meissner effect from the superconductivity of composed Sm system exists in the range of 0

  • Superconducting current lead is one of the promising applications of the oxide high-Tc superconductors, because they have the advantage of decreasing heat conduction to low temperature region, comparing with a conventional cooper alloy lead. High critical current density is a key factor for the applications such as current lead. $(Bi,Pb)_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$ high Tc superconductor hase been investigated in terms of critical current density. Bi-2223 superconducting current lead made by CIP and solid state sintering process. Bi-2223 current lead that heat treated at $836\;^{\circ}C$ for 240 h in 1/13 $PO_2$ had over $500\;A/cm^2$ of critical current density at 77K. We knew that the superconducting properties of tube type current leads were better than rods type of them. And we investigated the relation of Bi-2223 formation and heat treatment condition by XRD and SEM analysis.
